Very clean park, baseball and soccer fields, walking trails, small fishing pond, and nice playground. The park had plants of seating to relax on a sunny day and tons of people walking their dogs. One of the dogs even decided to take a dip in the water (against their owners wishes)

Come to this small park in the East End on River Road across from Cox's Park! The natural beauty is highlighted in Spring and Fall, but this park is nice all year.

Thurman-Hutchins Park is great for an after school pit stop, getting your daily steps in, walking your dog, or taking your elderly parents on a short outing.

When you drive in, you'll notice the small pond. People fish here and there's a little observation/fishing deck that's accessible and kid safe.

The flat, paved trail offers several options so you can walk your preferred distance at your best pace. This is a great option for people with limited mobility as well as their caregivers! It's quiet and peaceful with benches along your route.

So the paved trail is great for strollers and kids, but there's a shaded playground with bathrooms too!

Soccer/softball/etc playing fields, a wetland trail(may be overgrown), a small pavilion with grills you can reserve, and the pond make this an easily accessible park (off I-71, close to downtown) one of the best, feature-packed parks in Louisville.

Bring a picnic, use the charcoal grills, or order takeout from El Nopal, River Road BBQ, or King Fish.

This small wonderful park is across River Road from Carrie Gaulbert Cox Park and Boat Ramp. Small but thoughtfully designed with fishing pond, soccer fields, children's playground, baseball field and walking or running track around the perimeter. I walk the perimeter and often walk along sidewalk to the Peacetime Memorial less than 1/2 upriver. Another 1/4 up and across Indian Hills Trail is Caperton Swamp, with quaint trails though small breathtaking wetlands area. I also enjoy walking across the street from Thurman-Hutchins Park to the river and watch watercraft on river or watch persons at the boat dock launching their boats or loading them on trailers. It's a lovely way to spend an hour or more!

This is 1 of our favorite parks to bring the kids! Not alot of people so we can always bring the dog with us! There's a lot of trees so a lot of shade! It's just calm and peaceful and the kids and the dog love it!! So win win for everyone!!

This park is pretty great! The walking paths are calming and the foliage is diverse! So many native plants, my favorite is the giant patch of goldenrod in bloom. Also, on quiet days the deer can be seen through the trees.

Been a while since we visited. Great little park for kids. And it's down by the river. Lots of options.

Beautiful space, loved the trails.
However people left cigarette packets and random soda/ beer bottles on park benches.
They do have trash cans and water fountains albeit a bit far apart.

Park with lots of open space! Maybe not somewhere I’d go to be in a pretty park since it’s a little bare, but this park offered access to lots of different ways to run, whether it’s into the park across the street, to the right towards the Lewis & Clark bridge, or to the left towards the BBQ restaurant. Always plenty of parking and well kept/clean.

We were there for a baseball tournament. Restrooms were porta-johns, no concession stand. It is a 5 minute walk to the Ohio River.

Great place to have a walk and get fresh air. Meet new people with similar interests. Most people there are quite friendly.

Very nice paved loop to walk around with my dog. My go-to park after a rainy day. Some of the trees are labeled in the loop around the lake. There is a very nice playground, which is nice for me because there's a bar I can use to attempt chin-ups.

I sneak in a few casts for bass here during my day. I love the facility, but every now and then someone with authority should show up, check licenses and enforce catch limits. Also, many of the people who fish here also litter and I find this despicable. How can anyone who enjoys the outdoors leave their food bags, plastic cups and bottles, beer cans, bait cups and fishing line, etc lying on the ground? Especially when there are so many trash bins close by.

I love this park. It is the start of a walking loop that includes Caperton Swamp and part of Cox’s Park. I only wish that in the fall and winter, all of the lights worked. It is so dark without them.
