Dr. Ruchhoft is by far the friendliest and most professional OBGYN I have ever seen. Goes above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and I really feel that she has my best interest in mind. Would never go anywhere else as long as she’s around.

Dr. Rucchoft delivered our daughter, Allison, over 15 years ago when we lived in Cincinnati. She's great! My daughter just asked who delivered her and I showed her her picture. In typical teenage fashion she says, "Oh". LOL

I have been seeing Dr. Ruchhoft for several years, and though her bluntness sometimes rubbed me the wrong way in the past, I mostly appreciated her honest opinion about things.

I recently received an IUD placement there and about a week later, I was having severe abdominal cramping and pain that lead me to the ER (and I am not someone who typically goes to the ER). I was given some pain medication and had scheduled a f/u appointment with her that was for the following day.

She was extremely dismissive about my complaints stating that it was probably an ovarian cyst erupting and denied that the IUD could have anything to do with it, even though I haven't had ovarian cysts in over 17 years. She went on to say that she's had women come in wanting to "blame" the IUD for causing cysts but that there is no evidence to suggest there is a relation. So it's obviously not just me who she is dismissing about their concerns. She went on to be oddly defensive about IUD's and gloated about her skills in placing them.

Essentially, it seemed like she was taking my concerns as a personal attack on her IUD placement skills/expertise as opposed to an understandably concerned patient looking for some explanation as to why I've been in so much pain since getting the IUD.

I was medically gaslighted by Dr Ruchhoft. I have been previously diagnosed by doctors with a condition and when I brought my concerns about my condition to her she told me I was wrong and that there was no problem. Another time I explained to her that my body doesn't do well with hormones and that I wanted a paraguard I was again medically gaslighted All of my concerns were dismissed. My hair is now falling out due to the mirena IUD that was forced on me. I am going to another provider now to have it removed.

I've visited Dr. Ruchhoft twice. The first time she was abrupt and made an unprofessional comment about my body. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and visited a second time for a yearly exam. My very general health questions were met with aggression and immediately dismissed with the impression that I was stupid to ask.

She kept repeating, "I'm not sure what you are asking!" and getting more and more confrontational as she challenged me to be more specific. I was just wanting general information about perimenopause/menopause. It was not that hard. After all, I did not go to medical school. It's as if, as a patient, I should come and let her do her thing and keep my mouth shut.

She did not make me feel as if I could trust her as my doctor, nor did she make it a safe space to ask questions. I did call and leave a grievance because the interaction left me shaken. If she works for you, great, but am putting this review here in case other people may be triggered by these types of interactions with their physician.
