We listened to an excellent tour given by a retired former TVA worker and enjoyed fishing below the dam. We walked across the top of the dam at sunrise which was beautiful!

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Kentucky Dam Visitor Center, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The center is an amazing place for both locals and tourists alike, providing an insightful glimpse into the history and significance of the Kentucky Dam.

The exhibits are well-organized and informative, offering a comprehensive overview of the dam's construction, its impact on the region, and the engineering techniques behind it. The interactive displays were particularly engaging, making it a great educational experience for visitors of all ages.

What truly stood out for me was the breathtaking view of the dam and the surrounding areas. The observation area provided a stunning panoramic view that was both awe-inspiring and serene. It's a perfect spot for photographers or anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

The staff at the visitor center were friendly and knowledgeable. They were eager to share information and answer any questions, adding a personal touch to the visit. Their enthusiasm and expertise significantly enhanced the overall experience.

Moreover, the visitor center was clean and well-maintained. The facilities, including restrooms, were in excellent condition, which is always a plus in any public area.

In summary, the Kentucky Dam Visitor Center is a must-visit destination. It offers a perfect blend of education, scenic beauty, and friendly service. Whether you're a history buff, nature lover, or just passing through, this visitor center promises a memorable and enriching experience. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning in the future.

We arrived after hours for the visitors center, but the main thing I wanted was the breathtaking views from atop the dam. It soothes the soul.

We stayed in a lodge room for 7 days. Very comfortable, great value & very nice/spacious surroundings. With a balcony view of the lake and many opportunities for outdoor activities.
The only thing I need to mention is there are no microwave or fridge in the room and as far as I could tell, none was available. Also, no coffee available except for what was in the room.

Kentucky Dam is a must see. If your wanting to bank fish. There are 2 piers. It is high and sometimes bringing fish in can be a challenge. The steps and ramps are a hard hike for older people. Boat fishing is a preferred method of fishing. The views are pretty awesome.

Nice park, but the visitor center was closed. The area was clean and it was nice to be able to get close to the dam.

Very cool place to stop and see where the Ohio and the Kentucky River converge and the huge dam. Theres some cool photo ops, while there I saw nearly 40 people fishing, a bunch of pelicans bobbing for dinner and a few cranes. You can also check out a huge turbine that is on display. Quick and easy to get on/off the highway.

Very friendly people manning the visitors center. It did open a little late the day we were there (staffed by volunteers). Had information about the area. Was a little disappointed it didn't explain better how the dam generates power. The center is free.
