For years I have said if I am going to get married in Kentucky, the only place I would want to get married is Yew Dell Botanical Gardens. One of the things I love the most is the aisle of trees in front of the event lawn. This last September, my dreams came true!
Jill was wonderful to work with and so easy to coordinate everything. I had a wedding of around 150 people and got married on the event lawn, had my cocktail hour on the stone terrace, and my reception under the Mary F. Rounsavall Pavilion.
Everything was gorgeous! I loved having the castle and cabin for me, my husband, and our bridal party to get ready in. I also loved having the whole Gardens to explore. Every inch of the Gardens are beautiful and made for endless photo opportunities with gorgeous backgrounds. All the locations used had the perfect amount of space! I especially loved how much room we had for dancing under the pavilion. It was so lovely to get married with a variety of seasonal plants and flowers surrounding us. I loved also being able to have a view of the barn during cocktail hour. I also loved the bourbon barrels that Yew Dell provided. I appreciated how easy and helpful the staff was at Yew Dell during all the coordination and the day off, it took a lot of stress off of me! They also made it easy to transport some of my guest that have mobility issues.
There is nowhere else I would have wanted to spend one of the most important days of my life! I love being able to have pictures to look back on with the gorgeous scenery.

We had a relaxing time at Yell Dell. We spent about two hours enjoying wandering the grounds looking at the beautiful plants and unique trees. There was an adorable fairy trail to walk through and a castle with a wedding just finishing up. They do have a nice cafe and seating that is covered overlooking open space. Clean restrooms and signs everywhere naming the plants and trees. If you can walk without difficulty there is a path around two ponds on their property adjacent to the castle. You have to take the stairs down to a grassy path. Head to the concert that has a gate. It almost looks like you are entering a restricted area but it is still the property of Yell. They have cute Gnome’s sporadically placed along the hiking paths. I loved that and they have names. We purchased a couple of pots for my plants in their nice gift shop.

Absolutely beautiful place! The flowers and plants are gorgeous. The buildings are well taken care of and the layout is an easy stroll. Attending a Bourbon and Concert series tonight with a Celtic vibe. Wonderful sounds under a pavilion type are surrounded by nature. Good food and drinks available for purchase. Garden store was open for items to purchase. Beautiful evening with others listening to good music.

We recently paid our first visit to Yew Del Botanical Gardens. It was Father's day and my did some research to find on outdoor place not far from home and ended up here. I had no idea it existed, but I don't get out this way very often.

The entry way is through the Tobacco barn, and it's a nifty way to enter such a unique place. The admission price is very reasonable ($9 for adults, and veterans (like myself) are free).

Walk through the Tobacco Barn / Gift Shop and there you are, surrounded by all kinds of colourful, natural beauty. We meandered through a large part of the Botanical Gardens in roughly and hour-and-a-half at a very relaxed pace.

I particularly liked the Castle Terrace, looking very medieval and stately shortly after you enter the Gardens. The Fairy Forest is a quaint little area with miniature fairy houses and a well-shaded area and plenty of places to sit.

The Pollinator Meadow has a nice, very visible, flat walking path that's a nice stroll on a Sunday afternoon.

Yew Dell is a nicely sized Botanical Garden. It's not so large that you feel like you're missing something, but comfortable enough to feel like you got to see it in all its natural splendor.

If you haven't been, I recommend it. It's a very pleasant visit to a quiet, relaxing outdoor experience...and who couldn't use more of that?

Perfect day to check out another nature spot. We were greeted by a really nice staff member. There is an entry fee list, but thanks to my Veteran husband🇺🇸 we got in for FREE. We left a donation. The flowers were blooming and different paths to choose from. The Fairy Forest area is cute. There is a cafe’, but it’s only open on the weekends. It’s an easy walk with many places to sit and enjoy the view. The staff said you can bring food in and have your own picnic. That’s a plus for us. Highly recommend going. We will be back. Enjoy the pictures and videos.

Wow! I had such a lovely time walking around. This was my first time visiting and the person at the gate was so nice and helpful. Most of the garden has a paved path, but there are a few trails you can take if you chose. I recommend wearing shoes you don't mind getting a little dirty if you take the trail.

I was interested to see what plants they chose that we're already in bloom for Spring to get inspiration for my own garden. I found myself stopping multiple times because I was surprised by how pretty or whimsical it was. If you have a few hours to spare, I highly recommend taking your time to walk around.

The photo I've attached is on the way back from the walking trail. It shows the castle and a small corner of the overlook area.

As a wedding photographer in Louisville, we absolutely love getting the chance to capture a day at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens. Whether in high season and bloom or not, this venue is absolutely stunning. With a castle-esque building to get ready, water features, unforgettable florals, and a beautiful outdoor reception site and tent options, this is the perfect place for your day to enjoy any of the Louisville seasons. Don’t pass over this place without making a trip out and walking the beautiful trails and grounds, because once you do you’ll start to see what our photographer eye sees - beauty all around you on your big day just waiting to be your backdrop!

This is such a pretty spot. Both my elementary boys and middle school daughter liked the castle and fairy garden. You'll spend over and hour at this location.
The blooms were spectacular.

Beautiful gardens. The peonies were amazing. We enjoyed our stroll through the gardens. An unexpected gem in our travel. We saw the highway sign and just took the exit.

What an absolute treasure of Kentucky! 60 acres of some of the finest exhibits of native as well as imported plants and trees you'll find anywhere in Kentucky and beyond. Almost every species has a tag or plaque so as to be able easily identify which plant you are enjoying.
The grounds are clean and well maintained. Admission is very reasonable with children and senior rates.
There is a large pavilion and facilities that may be rented for receptions and other social occasions.
We'll return with our hiking shoes and walking sticks to explore the outlying hiking trails, although much of the main areas are handicap accessible and easy walking. This is an absolute treasure for anyone who loves the outdoors.
Can't wait until spring to enjoy the more than one thousand tulip bulbs planted in many flowerbeds!!!

Spontaneous visit (mostly because distillery was not open), but this place is beautiful! I want to live in their castle. Lots of frogs if you look closely in the reeds...

It was later into the season, and the place was still beautiful with flowers blooming all over. Cant wait to see it in spring next year. This was our first time coming. But definitely wont be the last

A botanical feast of color and diversity on a backdrop of well kept grounds with original structures. The Fairy Forest and the outside art add to the enchantment. I couldn't leave without making a purchase of a plant and a yard ornament.
