I met Greg back when I was still working and he fixed our rag-tag trucks and kept them on the road, so naturally when he opened his own shop he was an obvious choice, but now he has grown and he hires good help because his name is on the sign out front. He cares about people and he's honest and fair. Who else would you want working on your car? This is the place to go. He'll fix what needs to be fixed, and he won't do the things that don't need fixing. A-1

Highly recommendable! Went there after being told by a previous shop I needed certain repairs that were around $1200.00 to be told by Grout what really needed to be fixed. It was hundreds of dollars cheaper. Very pleased with their work and honesty.

Excellent people, excellent service! We're over the road expeditors and were having major issues with our cargo van after we delivered our freight. We're not from Kentucky so we got a recommendation to this shop and we're so thankful we did! Greg, the owner and his Wife, Carl and our mechanic Jacob were just amazing. We had 3 things that needed to be replaced and we brought it in just hoping they could at least look at it since it was about 2:30 but they went above and beyond by not only checking it out but fitting us into a very busy schedule and got us back on the road THE SAME DAY!!! Which is so crucial because our van is our business. They were really nice, genuine, honest folks who really saved the day for us! Thank you so much everyone!!!

I had a great experience with Grout Automotive. My girlfriend took her car there after her Altima had some issues. They gave her a quote after diagnosing it free of charge. She suggested i take my vehicle there. I had some noise issues after repairs were completed at another shop. I took it there when i got off in the morning and they drove me home and called me when i woke up with an estimate to repair the wheel bearings. I approved the repair and picked it up in less than 24 hours from when i first dropped it off. I’m completely impressed with their skills and professionalism. Greg is definitely great at what he does and i felt no pressure while I was there. I’ll definitely be coming back here if there is any other issues with my vehicle.

I had my first experience with Grout Automotive a couple weeks ago and I'll definitely be back. I had originally taken my car to Honda in Florence after I noticed a thumping noise while driving. They charged me close to $200 just to look at it and quoted me thousands of dollars in repairs (I made the mistake of browsing new cars while I waited for my car to be serviced). I declined their service and called around for quotes for the 2 issues Honda said was causing the thumping noise (torn boot struts and rusted axels). After talking with Grout they quoted less than Honda for the repairs (as did the other places I called), and said they wanted to look at my car prior to working on it to make sure Honda correctly diagnosed the issues. I brought my car to Grout without an appointment and they took it for a drive with me right away. Within 5 minutes of driving Greg said he thought it sounded like my wheel bearings were loose. He pulled my car straight into the garage and had a mechanic tighten them right away. This fixed my thumping issue and when I tried to pay, Greg wouldn't charge me. Greg seems like a very trustworthy and honest person. I will definitely be bringing my car back to him and will be sending my husband there as well for any car issues we have in the future.

If I could rate them a 10 I would. I have been going to Grout for oil changes for about a year now (I'm lazy). I have always had good experiences with them. While they may not always be the quickest their staff is amazing and their service is unbeatable so I don't mind spending the extra time.

The reason I'm finally posting a review is for my fiance's interaction with Grout on 8/21/18.

At my urging she had dropped her car off for an oil change the day before. They were completely booked, but after asking about a different day Greg, the owner, got on the line and squeezed her in. We missed their closing time so we came back the next day to pick up her car. Greg had called the night before about an issue with the oil pan, but we didn't think much of it until we saw a bill for $160. Since he couldn't let us drive out with a leaking pan, they had to replace the whole thing. We suspect that the cause of it was actually previous people who changed her oil over tightened the plug and stripped the threading. Greg still acknowledged the perception that they were the last people who touched it and removed the oil pan from the bill completely. Needless to say, Grout has gained 2 loyal customers. It is hard to find honest mechanics that will do right by the customer even if they take a hit in the process. Greg and his people are, by far, the best that I have dealt with and I cant recommend them enough!

We just moved to Northern Kentucky and the blower for the A/C failed on my 2014 Nissan Rogue. I knew that getting up under the dashboard to replace the blower motor would be difficult so I was bracing myself for sticker shock. I was elated to get a call back that Grout had finished the job much more quickly than I had expected and the price was much lower than I had anticipated. Wow! Can't recommend these guys highly enough.

Very pleased with the work done by Greg and his team. I live 1000 miles away, but my daughter lives in Northern Kentucky. I searched the web for garages with good reviews and found Grout. I spoke with Greg on the phone and explained our long distance situation and was put at ease. Once the work was done, Greg called me and went over the bill and the customer experience was exceptional. I don't get that kind of personalized service where I live at the local service centers. Over the past several years, I have purchased and had tires installed, oil changes, tire rotations, brakes - all long distance. I get an honest assessment of the vehicle and what is needed - piece of mind when my daughter is in another state. The last time I visited her, I made a point to visit the garage in person to put a face with a name and thank Greg and Staff for keeping my daughter's vehicle safe.

Grout is the most trustworthy car repair place I have been to in this area, I’ve been to a lot. This is best by far, I wouldn’t hesitate to take my cars there for anything. It took a few times to diagnose the problem, we were told several different things it could be by other places, seemed like they were just trying to nickel and dime us. Greg didn’t charge us until he knew for sure. We ended up needing a new engine, he found us one at a great price. They found a couple of other problems but stuck to the original estimate. Greg was always available to answer questions and give good advice.
If in Northern Ky this is definitely the place to take your car.

Straightforward, honest, no gimmicks, excellent service. My total bill was about what was estimated initially, but Greg knocked off almost $50 for my trouble just because I had to leave the car there overnight (which had nothing to do with Grout, they were just waiting on a part). That is the sign of a good businessman and mechanic. I will be bringing my vehicles back here again!

called to get my car in and they were pretty booked up. told them that i could leave it and they could work on it on their own time. left a laundry list of things needed to be done and little stuff could wait til i got back from weekend trip. he did wonderful! fixing several things and got me setup for my trip. i highly recommend Grout Automotive.
