Good experience today getting my drivers license after moving back to KY. I made an appointment online. They are booked pretty far out, but I think it's worth it if you are not in a hurry. Every single person I interacted with was pleasant and professional. There's a little confusion about what is acceptable as proof of address, but they will kindly let you email a pdf of a bill or statement while standing at the station. Patience observed from clerks all around me! This is so much better than having to return at another time with the appropriate documents, as we've had to do in other states. My experience restored a bit of my faith in people's ability to do the job they are hired to do!

I visited to get a Real ID and a name change on 7/12/23. I had also visited 2 weeks earlier, but didn’t have all of my necessary documentation.
Both times, Debra has been extremely friendly and helpful. She’s very patient, and I feel like she excels at crowd control and handling all the questions before people enter the facility.
During my 7/12 visit, there was a woman needing an ID but didn’t have the proper documentation. She was getting very loud and upset, including some inappropriate racist comments (likely also struggling with some mental health issues). The gentleman helping her (possibly a sheriff), was very patient and remained calm trying to explain things and help her the best he could. When I left 30 minutes later, he was waiting with her outside, presumably for the bus.
I didn’t get the name of the staff member that checked me in, but she was also very helpful and friendly.
Venita processed my new license, and she was absolutely delightful to work with. Very friendly and helpful as well.

!Make an appointment online and you won't wait long! Most people just show up, and that's why they spend forever waiting.

Changing the address on my license, 8:45am appointment, but they took me as soon as they opened. 5 minutes in and out.

Special thanks to Debra (Deborah?) who organized the line while and gave information while we waited, and Megan who processed me request efficiently and with a smile.

Staff very kind and organized. With an appointment, out in 20 minutes. That said, had to wait a few weeks for an open slot. Tight quarters. Everyone waits in a very small space atop each other. Fun to hear the many languages spoken at Bowman Field. A delight to see the super happy folk come in after passing the road test. Word is Nia Center faster- maybe more comfortable for immunocompromised folk wishing to avoid a tight space with only one mask seen the entire time.

Not much you can say, you go in, you get your license and you're done. The new system is much better than the old procedure for replacing your driver's license. It is recommended that you make an appointment for renewal, but an appointment is not required. Appointment does expedite your time getting taken care of. Walk-ins are on a first-come-first -served basis.

They handled a lobby full of people very well. I was a walk in just before lunch for a Real ID and they gave me a half hour time slot in the afternoon. When I came back they had me checked in and back out the door in an hour and the place was packed. Very organized and efficient!

I had the best experience I've ever had at the DMV!!! I didn't have an appointment and was really dreading my wait time, but they were still able to take me as a walk-in!! I arrived at 9:30 a.m., registered, sat down, read my book for about 20 minutes, and they called my name!! I went to the counter, gave them the paperwork that was needed, had my picture taken, answered questions on the tablet, signed my name, and paid for my license!! It only took me about 45 minutes, tops!!! It would've been quicker, but I was paying cash, and there were only 2 staff members that take cash!!
I can't thank Venetta Carter enough for her professionalism, efficiency, and being so courteous . I received the best customer service, I've received in a vey long time.

I can't say enough positive things about this DMV and their staff, from the greeter at the door, the staff registering me, to Ms. Venetta Carter!!! Thank you all so very much!!!

Called for appt, they take walk-ins too. So I walked in. 15-20 mins max. A persons vibe can make all the difference at the right time. Thanks to the pretty lady at the corner 12.

Well, gotta say it's never fun to wait in line. And if you asked me how my experience was getting in touch with this place or setting an appointment, I would be giving it a negative 5 stars, if possible. It took 3 MONTHS of daily calling (dozens of times daily) to just get anyone to answer the phone. Then when they magically picked up, I was on hold for over 30 minutes! But wasn't about to hang up.

However, today, when we came for the appointment, the people were actually very nice. Not my previous experience. We were treated like people, not chattel. They answered the odd questions and took their time to engage with me.

I really appreciated that.

Everyone was so nice and friendly! I was in and out in less than a half hour!
By the way, I went there during senior hours and that's where you come if you're a senior and it's open an hour before the regular public.
The guy at the door that tells everyone what line they should be in it's so very helpful and he's very personable, overall it was a great experience compared to visiting other states DMV.

So far it's Great!, Long wait if you have cash to pay for anything. Make sure you call early in the moring to get a early appointment. And make sure they text you conformation so you can should them at the door or inside. But it's super packed inside the building. Overall Good experience & quick. Make sure you have the right documents & SSI * BIRTH CERTIFICATE. AND BE ABLE TO PULL UP OR BRING A BILL WITH STATMENTS VERIFYING ITS YOU & EVERYTHING 👏🏻👏🏻☺. THAT IS ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY!!.

Process still takes time like always, but there are very helpful staff members that explain procedures well. If you keep patience everything should be fine.

I had an appointment at 2:15 to get my real ID. I got there about 20 minutes early and I was out and back in my car by 2:20! Very efficient and friendly.

Line was long when we arrived. Ex military gentleman suggested I go inside and see if my husband who has Parkinsons could go in and sit in air conditioning. Worker inside was more than agreeable that he should be inside. Within 30 minutes my husband had his photo ID and we were on our way. Everyone was considerate of our situation and tried to be helpful. Pleasant experience!

If you have a appointment the process is very fast. Walkins can expect a hour or longer wait. If your address changed make sure to have 30day old or less mail with your name and new address. People were very nice.
