Louisville Fire Quint 10

On the way to work, my partner and I spotted a bike laying on the sidewalk and what appeared to be a person laying beside it not moving. We circled back and my partner approached and it was a woman barely conscious; we couldn't tell why. She couldn't get an answer from the woman so she called 911 and asked for help, describing the situation. Within 5 minutes a Fire and Rescue truck pulled up, lights and siren, and about 8 men got out and came over with various medical kits, blanket, etc. and began to talk to the woman. Since she was obviously getting help, we left.
The Fire & Rescue team was everything stereotypical about firemen: big, strong, clean-cut, crisp uniforms, professional manner.
I saw Q10 on the truck so decided to follow up with this review to thank them. I was moved to tears: by the poor woman, whatever situation she was experiencing, and by the swift rescue response. Thank you, Fire & Rescue Q10 for your public service.

We took our 2 year old son for an impromptu visit to this station this morning. Sgt. Lowe was on duty there and was so kind and patient with our son. He showed him every part of the truck he was interested in, let him sit in the truck, turn on the lights and even spray a small hose. This was an experience we will all remember fondly and we want to thank him for his kindness, patience and his show of excitement for his craft and enthusiasm to share it with our son.

I recently went by this firehouse to leave some thank you gifts to our first responders. I was very impressed with the professionalism and the concern for the neighborhood. I had an excellent discussion with Major William Whobrey who gave me further insight into the firehouse staff's desire to serve. So grateful to have this commitment in our community. By the way, if you are interested in visiting and find the front doors closed, go to the backside facing Bowman Field. There I found an open door and office area. I did not have success getting someone via the button over the front sign or a call box.
