Bub's Cafe

We found Bub's Cafe while traveling and looking for a "breakfast near me" restaurant after we missed an exit to where we originally planned to go. We barely made it in time for breakfast (which stops at 11:00) and were quickly served our drinks and the food came soon after. The decor is a bit outdated, but the food was delicious! The bacon was cooked perfectly (for me) crispy, the eggs were not overcooked, the pancakes were just like I like them (with crispy edges), and the coffee was nice and hot. We are regularly traveling through Elizabethtown, KY and definitely plan to stop in here again.

Love this spot!! Great breakfast had the ham & cheese omelet, outstanding. Best hash browns in my life. Great customer service staff is friendly. People need to support these small mom and pop spots and stop catering to the corporations. I try and eat here whenever I come to town.

Fast forward a year later to 11/29/23
My opinion hasn’t changed, this place is still great, I’ve been here many times and I have never left disappointed. My only complaint would be that when I retire I’ll have to drive further to get here. And with all the price hikes Bub’s has stayed reasonable and affordable. Breakfast below in photographs for under $10.00. Can’t beat it!

OMG THE BACON!
I’d probably come here and just order a plate of bacon! If you are a bacon lover and haven’t eaten here, you’re going to hate yourself for not coming sooner. Your tongue will jump out and slap your face for waiting until now!
Seriously, very clean, excellent food, extremely polite and attentive staff. They know their customers by name. I missed places like this.

On my way to TN I found this nice place on Elizabeth town.

The place has a nice vibe, with a clean open kitchen, a quiet place to enjoy lunch. Service was very fast, personal very friendly and the food amazing.

I ordered the special which it was roast beef, it was very good.

The hamburger, melts, chicken sandwiches and salad were perfectly portioned and delicious.

The turkey melt is probably our favorite!

We absolutely love Bub’s. It’s our go-to for breakfast. The bacon is crazy good. My husband loves the pancakes. It has a great small town feel. Everybody is friendly. It’s like the Cheers of breakfast. We are always happy when we leave

Thick cut bacon! One of the best breakfast places I've been too. Definitely the best cut of bacon. So good I had to order an extra side. Coffee was also very good.
This café was very busy on Saturday at 9am. Limited staffing and seating were an issue but very much worth the wait. I'd recommend getting there before 9a on a Saturday.

I’ve ate here multiple times now! It’s always very busy and very delicious! The French toast is amazingly good. Their waffles are great too. It’s one of my favorite breakfast places in Elizabethtown.

I came with my friend who was visiting out of town from Utah and my baby. I held the baby in my arms. We had a very friendly waiter the service was very fast. The food was excellent. Home cooked meals. The eggs tasted amazing, the hash browns are to die for. I love the vintage items on display.

Love the sausage here and service is always fantastic. Best and cheapest sit down breakfast in town.

We always like when we discover a hidden gem like this one! A friendly, comfortable place, with really great service. The food was excellent and quite plentiful, Bub's is the kind of place where you could very quickly become a regular.

Excellent lunch stop. Lunch Special was open face Roast Beef, Mash Potatoes and White Beans. It was a generous portion and very good. My wife had Mushroom Swiss Burger and loved it. Service was attentive and friendly.

If you're in Etown and all you want is a good breakfast or lunch this is the place to go. It's just a nice, homey place to get a well cooked meal. The atmosphere is small town, the folks are nice and it is clean. Bubs is a Mom and Pop kind of place, you're not going to have to deal with trendy, hipster kind of nonsense.

They take their time on the food, it's cooked well and tastes good. I recommend the Denver Omelette, you won't be sorry. And go with the hash browns. You'll get a plateful.

The decor is cute, 50's kind of stuff. Laugh, none of the silverware or dishes match, so if that bothers you, you're in the wrong place. But if what you want is a good meal, you made the right decision.

Bub's is one of those places that the locals all know about and support. Folks passing through are just going to glance at it and say, "Nah" and pass on by. Which is a shame, because they're missing a treat.

My first time there. I spent more than I normally would but I was very hungry and had to try a few things. I had 2 plates of food, eggs, bacon, county ham, biscuits and gravy, and hash browns. I left with a full belly, and a full container of my leftovers... Coffee was GREAT! So for just under $20 I had enough food for two delicious meals... If that's not worth it enough, let me add the exceptional service and friendly staff...

Very good food. I've never seen tomatoes and cottage cheese on a menu before, this place is great. I'll definitely be coming back again to try all their daily specials. Inside atmosphere gives a kind of classic diner and antique feel.

What a great breakfast! Was missing my spouse this morning as he’s gone on orders for the army and was just not feeling cooking. Googled this pop up and did not disappoint! Food was amazing and boy was the portions huge! Thank you to our Waiter who was amazing as well.y boys and I will be back.
