Definitely recommend of course calling in first but not a bad place to get business done. I like how it's all in one building. It used to be very spread out about 10 years ago and you had to go to multiple buildings to get things done but they have really pulled it together!

Went to the Covington location for my auto tag renewal and had a great experience. My taxes came out to something like 326 and I had 325 in my wallet. the clerk, Stacey, offered to give me a dollar from her her OWN money, so that I didn’t have to put it on my debit card and pay the fees associated with that kind of transaction. I politely declined and got a dollar from my car but was super impressed that she offered. It sucks paying taxes on your car every year, but it definitely makes it easier when you are dealing with employees like Stacey. What a wonderful person and experience! I never in my life thought I would be writing a review on a visit to renew my car tags, but here I am. Thanks so much Stacey. Kenton County is lucky to have employees like you.

I went down to cast my vote at this crucial time for our country and it was unbelievably easy! Even with an historical turn out everything went very, very smooth and here's the good news. It took just over forty minutes! There was proper social distancing, everyone in line was both friendly and respectful of each other and the polling staff really had their act together. Well done Kentucky! I am so proud of us all! As Always, Enjoy!

Despite the 2+ hrs to complete a transfer and a renewal, this was a pleasant experience. Thanks to Connie R for your sense of humor and assistance!

2nd time here and both times the employees were really nice and quick. This time is a record for me, checked in, helped, and left all within 5 minutes.

We walked in and groaned. People were in a line everywhere. We thought we'd be there forever. Fortunately the girls that work there are very efficient and quick. It took us no time to get waited on. They were very friendly. And the new office is beautiful.

In comparison to what I’m use to back home, this undesirable experience is a cake walk buffet!
I’m truly sympathetic if someone has a “bad” experience due to them not having all the paperwork needed and they are quickly pushed out the door, whether you completely understood or not... BUT those people can EASILY access what’s needed by going online or speaking to the directory assistant before getting in line. In order for ME to have an overall good experience, those people without the proper items or steps NEED to leave the window & do research like the rest of us! Stop blaming the county workers or commenting that they were being short with their answers because you aren’t happy with the outcome and/or you just don’t understand... They are just trying to help all of us waiting with proper documentation in a timely manner. In which they do.. even if they happen to make a mistake; maybe things weren’t explained clearly, but certainly not on purpose!

So based on: time in line, efficiency, cleanliness, effectiveness, politeness, knowledgeability, the new building, and the overall in & out system... most definitely FIVE STARS!!

The DMV office in Independence has been nicely remodeled. I renewed my tags today for 2 vehicles and have never had a more expedient and efficient renewal, anywhere and I renewed vehicles all over the USA during my 30yr military career. The attendant was nice and on point...in and out in 15 min. Bravo Kenton County!

Not as bad as I thought when I walked in the door to get my tags renewed. The line of people was about 150 foot long. But the clercks were pretty fast. I didn't realize how fast they were until I looked at my phone when I got to Wendy's in Latonia...58 minutes from the time I walked into the the new county building.

Competent, respectful staff functioning at a high level of service under the added stress of pandemic safety measures. I was there near the.end of the business day. The line was still long but I experienced staff as having high morale. Respect to County Clerk Gabrielle Summe for effective leadership.

I come here every year to renew my plates. It's on the way to work and by going first thing in the morning, I am in and out.

My best experience was when I went too register a new vehicle. I was a couple days beyond 60 on my proof of insurance (out of state purchase that took forever to process). They let me call my agent and get a new one faxed over at the end of the day. It was so great and they were so helpful.

They were quick, organized and highly efficient. I was in and out waiting for the bus in 40 minutes. 10 minutes walk each way. Wonderful workers. Friendly and smiling.
