One of our favorites for 35yrs+! Some of the best pulled pork & BBQ sauce you'll find....baked beans remind my families recipes of old. Service is always quick & pleasant. Meringue PIES & banana pudding is right up there with the best EVER! HIGHLY recommend a visit!

Food for the money! You can't get a better meal anywhere for $11. I had the half chicken special with cornbread, green beans, and creamed corn with mashed potatoes. My husband had the pulled pork with green beans, baked beans, and cole slaw. Everything we both had was phenomenal! Will definitely stop here again!

I'm now located right across the street from the Wood Shed. I added a location for Merciful Towing and yesterday I decided to try the plate lunch. I ordered the Texas Toast, Mashed Potato's, Country Fried Steak, beans, and slaw. I regret not ordering the sweet tea, but next time! Everyone, including customers, seemed very polite. The gentleman at the drive up window took my order. I sat close by and had a great conversation while I waited. I'm a country style meal kind of person. It is becoming harder and harder to find good, home cooked, country style food these days. Seems the major chains are taking over. This place is right up my alley and the fact it is right across the front lawn, even better. Thanks for the hospitality during my visit! Remember, this place is not only BBQ, the country plate I had was amazing!!

Excellent food and super fast and friendly service. The place was packed, so we sat at the counter. It was Friday night so we ordered the catfish special. By the time I went to the restroom to wash my hands and came back, the food was on the counter. The server was very attentive and kept refilling our water. I will definitely be back to try some of the other food.

When Best Things Kentucky's made this its top rated BBQ restaurant, a lunch stop was definitely in the offing. The 364th stop on a BBQ journey now spanning 35 states was extremely busy, not only inside but also at the drive-thru. Staff was even delivering to cars parked around the lot! The customers were clearly from the surrounding community-- the staff and many of the customers were on a first name basis. This is the small town BBQ that warms my heart everywhere I find it in America. And as is often the case when you get out of the cities and away from the interstate, the price point was phenomenal. $16.35 + tip purchased a pork plate with cornbread and 3 sides-- Burgoo, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes with gravy. Toss in a refillable unsweetened tea, and a large slice of homemade chocolate meringue pie, and I was looking at enough food to walk out stuffed and still have plenty left over for dinner later that night in Missouri. The pork was decidedly neutral until I topped it with sauce, and then ... wow! The Burgoo, with a classic flavor profile, was really tasty. The coleslaw was far too sweet to go on top of the pork, but made a nice side dish. As for the chocolate pie ... what can I say? There was none left on the plate.

Some of the best barbecued pork I ever had. My husband had the burgoo and loved it .The service was friendly, the food delicious, and at a reasonable price.

It was all around good to great. The waitresses friendly in a clean kinda way, nicely done People. Clean restaurant , even spoke to a few customers,and they were speaking friendly and eye direct friendly,, even ones on the outside coming in to dine and eat,(dining eaters and just plain eaters are different folks of course. Even the guy with glasses observing me picking up a passed away fly from my table area waved in response to my wave. Nice acknowledgement from him.. Amen. Just overall,nicely comfortable.. however would have liked my coleslaw and more of it in a monkey bowl,and not on my pulled pork sandwich,,(Lol). Thanks guys &gals for all. Amen.

I am an extremely hard person to please when it comes to bbq. I am from Alabama and we honestly have some great bbq so my expectations were extremely high. I can can wholeheartedly say that the Wood Shed surpassed my expectations. I got a pulled pork sandwich, tater tots, and cabbage. The pulled pork was season through and through, not just the skin. It was a great portion size as well so it is filling. Now let's talk about this cabbage. It was so good as a side that I went back and got a pint of it! 🤣 It didn't have meat in it but it was just something about that made my soul happy! Moving on to the BBQ sauce. It was liquid and not thick like im use to, but the flavor was great. All in all, I recommend this business and I will be back.

Great food with the daily specials meat and 3 or just a burger and fries you can't go wrong! But the best thing they have is the Burgoo! It's so good they sell it by the gallon definitely recommend! The service is always top notch!

Nestled in an out of the way part of the industrial park in Hopkinsville, KY, is the Wood Shed Barbecue and Restaurant. With great southern sweet tea, if you leave hungry, it's your fault. I had the 1/4 barbecue chicken w brown beans, onion rings, creamed corn, corn bread and sweet tea . . . Yeah, all that for less than $12. My wife had the ribs and the surprise of the visit, burgoo. A vegetable beef stew that is loaded w veggies and has their signature barbecue sauce. It has a sweet aftertaste because of the sauce, but either straight or w the southern cornbread, it is a filling combination. We were stuffed. No room for any of the pies, of which, there are 8 or 9. Mile High meringue on top of several of them. I do recommend you give it a try. You'll wanna go back, I promise.

Amazing people and even better food. Love the BBQ sauce and the greens were seasoned perfectly. The fresh tomatoes were the icing on the cake! My only problem is that it took a long time to decide which type of pie I wanted. Prices are amazing especially for the amount of food you get. Will be back!

Stopped by for lunch with a friend leaving Hopkinsville. We was about to turn around and eat at a fast food place as we did not see any little mom and pop type places, like we enjoy eating at. We happen to see The BBQ sign, and we both agreed that sounded good, so we pulled in at The Wood Shed. The waitress was attentive, and friendly, a young girl. I ordered the BBQ plate with mashed pots, Italian greenbeans, and ocra with cornbread. My friend ordered the BBQ rib plate with Mac salad, beets, and corn and a roll. We both really liked everything. I'm a pretty big eater, but couldn't finish it, so took the rest home and had my supper. Definitely worth $11 each, for the meals we had. Didn't have room for pie, but they looked so good. Food was amazing, great flavor and potions.

Passing through on the way back to IL and ate here back in July. Excellent pulled pork bbq. Lots of food for the money. Very pleasant, down to earth people. Will definitely stop in again if we're ever close.

Jordyn is a great waitress. The food was very good. We will definitely be back sometime when in Hopkinsville.

Great food stop with VERY reasonable prices! $28.00 for dinner for two with pie for dessert!
