The Gruff

Excellent service. Excellent food. They even have a small play area with games and toys for kids to use while they wait.

Do NOT miss the opportunity to get picked fries. SO GOOD.

Went in on a Saturday with my wife and sat at the bar. They were just finishing up a rush but the bartender Jonathan took excellent care of us. He was clearly overworked when we sat down but took our drink order and got them to us very quickly (the Old Fashioned way amazing). I ordered pizza, my wife the Reuben, both good, pizza was better. We will definitely go back soon.

Lunch with a View

I opted to dine outside today to have a nice bite to eat and do some writing. The Gruff has caught my eye for some time and today was the day I finally tested it out.

Seating was self select and the service was great. I had a slight delay getting my delicious Smoked Brisket pizza, but I barely noticed. The Green salad to start was excellent as well.

This is a cozy spot for pizza (yet to try much else on the menu) and if you enjoy beer, they serve a variety of options as well.

A great option to enjoy this place is to park at the Banks and stroll across the Roebling suspension bridge. Nothing like a beautiful walk back to the car as a nice digestive.

I absolutely love this place! I've been here several times at this point but have only ever tried the pizza because it is literally the best pizza I've ever had. 🤤 It's so good that it actually gets better and better the colder it gets. Their service has also been excellent every single time!

Love this place, specifically on the weekend. Their pickled green tomatoes on their sandwiches make them next level.

the pizzas are great! When we visit Cincinnati, it is a must to walk across the John A Roebling Bridge and then regain energy at The Gruff, a couple of beers and a delicious pizza; The Vegetarian is great, since I'm not a vegetarian I add a little salami and the results are for the Gods! If you choose a good place to sit you can have a nice photo with the bridge in the background.

The service was excellent! The food was outstanding for the cost. The hamburger and Reuben sandwich was very good! Fries were crispy and delicious!

Andrew, the man!!! He was such a wonderful server. We had an amazing girls night out thanks to him and his great personality. Food is always fantastic! Drinks were killer!

Quick service and delicious pizza. Has a great rotating beer selection and a great collection of bourbons and whiskies available. Easy place to stop at if your on your way to or from a Reds game. Great outdoor seating area on a pretty quiet street. Cool name, cool vibe, cool people. Would highly recommend.

This place was suggested by a friend so of course we hopped over to try a bite. The service was awesome. Food was so good. I did not take pics of everything but know the pickle fries are a MUST! We tried the pizza, burgers, Cuban and bologna. Amazing!!!

A great spot that seems to be a combination of mostly locals and tourists. On a gorgeous evening I sat outside and did a pizza with the cauliflower crust. On a corner with a view of downtown Cincinnati, local apartments, and some fun goat graffiti. Small wine selection, but good price for the quality of the wine (average). Trivia contest was starting as I was leaving. 70s/80s/90s music. Love the place, will definitely come here every time I visit Cincinnati!

Excellent service and good food at The Gruff. We had a big party, called ahead and they were ready for us. The food came out quick and hot. Everyone thought food was good and that they were reasonable prices. I’ll go back to try the dill pickle pizza next time.

Brick oven pizza that is fantastic. Thin zero flop crispy crust. Great service and a fantastic atmosphere. You can buy beer, liquor, and wine to go. If you like pizza you should come here.

As a tourist my first time there. Awesome place! From the cleanliness, the quirkiness, the exceptional service that I received and the burger with home made potato salad was excellent! When my drink was getting low never had to say a word kept refilling! I would recommend to anyone, they had a menu to accommodate anyone. From wood fired pizza, chicken wings , specialty sandwiches and wide variety of craft beers. Wine or mixed drinks. Made my first time to the Cinncinnati and Covington area most enjoyable!!

Cool place for sure. Walked there from Marriott River Center. Friendly staff, great pizza. Had some pickle fires and tried my first Cuban sandwich ( good too).

Stopped here for lunch after a visit to the aquarium. Great little place that also sells beer, wine, spirits, and some of their house-made items from an in-store deli. Service was quick and while we ordered sandwiches and soup, the pizzas coming out also looked great. They even have a small desk area for kids that's full of books and activities. Their parking lot is small, but there is metered street parking nearby.

This was my wife and I first time here. The food, service, and atmosphere was really good. We will definitely go back.

Service awesome, food great. Park in the open courthouse parking lot, not the structure, and get your parking validated!

Amazing food! You can’t go wrong with the pizza or chicken sandwich! The staff is always friendly! There are great options for beverages (alcoholic and non) and there is a fun area for kids to play!
