Wonderful park with free Ferry boat ride over to the nature trails. In the middle of all the tourists you are alone on an island. Many picnic tables for snacks or lunches. Restrooms and water bottle filling station. Good excursion for the day and come back to splash in the splash pad and playground.

A great place to visit if you are looking for some time away from the beach. The ferry is free and there is always a friendly staff member willing to answer your questions. There are picnic areas through the trails and a bathroom at the start. Go for a short walk or stay for an afternoon!

Take the free ferry to the island. Tell the pilots you want to rent a paddle board or kayak. Kayaking around the island is fun. Gopher turtles not above ground when I visited. The island is very jungle like. Lovely trees, palms, greenery and some flowers. There are boardwalks and ground trails and picnic groves. A lot of people were lost on the trails, make sure to grab a map. Saw blue herons and egrets, adult and babies, iguanas, anones.Fish were jumping in the canals. Big boats on the intercoastal, some made big waves. There are bathrooms and water fountains on the island, small boat dock area and picnic areas. Some people claimed to have seen a gopher turtle. Make sure to sign in and out on the attendance sheet while on the ferry.

Had the most amazing time here on Deerfield Island Park! Carlos was a spectacular tour guide and is truly knowledgeable about the nature and the park itself! Can't wait to go back and explore some more!

We all loved the trail. The boat ride is free. They had an education stand where we did scavenger hunt. The grandkids enjoyed the day

The island is quite nice and tranquil. We found the shuttle easy for transport over to the island. We walked every path on the island and like the other reviews said, it is jungle like. I had been here a number of years ago and I thought the renovations to the paths to be great. I liked all the informative signs too.
We saw birds, crabs, iguanas, and oh so many spiders. They were sizable too! Some were hanging in the paths or overhead. On the bright side, they weren't really moving around, just hanging out, so you could avoid them. I would recommend the island but I do want to emphasize the spiders.

Deerfield Island Park was a wonderful scenic area that my family and friends really enjoyed! Specifically, the Mangrove Trail was a wonderful trail for sightseeing and more! We even saw a few (scary) bugs! The park is free, parking is also free, and the boat ride is free. Overall, I would definitely recommend this trail to everyone.

The parking was free, the boat ride free and the island is a lovely place to picnic, and wander in the natural setting. Some of the best things in life are free! A lovely place to visit, bring the kids, there’s fun in the small park there, with a water sprinkler for the little ones to enjoy in warm weather.

Wow! We have probably passed this park a thousand times and never stopped! But we did today and I am SOOOOO happy we did! What a great treasure in the middle of the madness. Absolute gem! Will definitely be back. Park personnel were very friendly and helpful. Saw a gopher tortoise! What a treat! Cool trails. Lots of picnic areas with grills.

This park is a wonderful hidden gem. We take our small boat there to picnic and walk the nature. There are lots of animals while we picnic. We wish it would be open on weekdays but I think they do not get enough visitors. Please do not feed the wildlife.

I had a great experience at Deerfield Island today. I want to especially thank Justin and Carlos for being very interactive with my kids on the boat ride over. They were very excited when they got to the island. We went on a scavenger hunt and even got a prize on our way out from another pair of very nice employees. Fun experience and great staff! Thanks a lot.

Nice quick boat shuttle which is free. I paddled there on sup and and walked around the island. It's a nice trail and different views of the water from different sides of island. We saw a racoon there with a beautiful tail.

My family and I went out on a rainy Saturday, and the captain of the ferry was incredibly accommodating of us. The island itself was amazing. Even though it's a small island, you feel completely cut off from coastal Florida. The flora and fauna aren't the only interesting things though. On the east side of the island is a wooden bridge where you can spot a headstone in the shallow water! I highly recommend paying Deerfield Beach Island a visit.

Great free place to explore nature and get away from the hustle and bustle. Make sure to soak up Sullivan park and watch the boats go by while you are waiting for the free park shuttle. Shuttle runs every hour on the hour from 10-3pm Saturdays and Sundays only. Bring lunch and have a picnic under the giant fig trees, make sure you get a view of the natural bee nest and if you are lucky you'll get to see a gopher tortoise, the park is one of the last remaining places in South Florida that preserves the wilderness for these incredible tortoises.

It was very interesting adventure. I spent 1 hour and 30 minutes there and one of my favorite Parts in the boat ride. Bev was very informative and helpful.
