Tequila's Mexican Grill & Cantina

The food was really good. The staff was extremely friendly. I would certainly go back again. I had the burrito supreme. The taste was really amazing. My only complaint is that the steak was tough. Either it was not a good cut of meat, or it was not marinated. Not sure. That is the reason for the 4-star review. Otherwise, it would have been a 5 star. The salsa and chips were both warm and really flavorful. The salsa had just a little bit of a kick to it, not much but just enough to round out the flavor. The refried beans, you could tell they were homemade and not out of a can. I was not aware that there was parking at the rear of the restaurant because I was searching for a parking spot given that I am not from here. It would be good if they mentioned that on their website or something. The artwork in the restaurant is really great. I loved the hearts chandelier that was hanging by the bar. It would have been nice to sit outside as it is a closed off to traffic street, but it was just too hot. The prices I found to be reasonable although I was there just after the afternoon rush so I am not sure if the prices are higher for dinner.

Lovely food however had my belongings stolen whilst sitting outside in full.view of everyone and no one said a thing. Strange. I am curious as to how this can happen especially near my church. Just shows you really cannot trust a single soul.

Never been in before, it was so nice inside! The hostess was so sweet, and it must have a lot of repeat customers because she asked if we wanted menus! The waitress we got was absolutely wonderful! Answered all of our questions! The only thing I was a bit shocked over was the price for queso!!! Other then that the food was amazing and the service great!

Genesis was the most incredible server and made our experience tonight the absolute best! Her presence and attitude made all of our night!!! We just flew in from Wisconsin and this was our first stop and I’m so glad and blessed to have met her!!!

Went here today for the first time and the food is really good especially the bistec mexicano I ordered! Would come back again!

Sat in the bar area to enjoy dinner. Was greeted promptly with a friendly smile. Enjoyed 2 for 1 house margaritas, fajita burrito and a chicken/steak fajitas dinner. Food was really good and plenty of it. Also enjoyed the chips and salsa. Service was awesome. I think it was the owner who was very friendly. They were playing ABBA and I asked if they could play festive Spanish music, in which they did. The atmosphere changed. Noticed a man singing to his grandchildren and everyone was just having a good time. You can sit in or out. Cleveland St. is a great place to eat. Tequilas is very clean. A definite go to spot for drinks, a meal or both. I highly recommend it. Will definitely be back!!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience here last night 08/07/22 and we came in as a group of 8. We were seated immediately and there weren't many people there, which seemed odd because it was a Sunday evening. I assumed we made a bad decision, but we ordered anyway. 1st, their cocktails are awesome, great presentation, and well crafted. Most of us got 2 for 1 margaritas which were great after a day at the beach. Our server (I wish I could remember her name.brown hair and very outgoing) was absolutely perfect. She was always there to refill waters or make sure that we were comfortable with everything. Now the food... it was awesome. I got tacos al Pastor and they were amazing. Eberyone was satisfied beyond expectations. More people would come if most of the downtown wasn't full of empty buildings that the Scientologists bought and leave vacant. Just my opinion. Thanks again to our awesome server and bartender!! They deserve a raise!

Great place with outdoor seating in a vehicle free zone. Their lunch prices are great! I had the steak fajitas (lunch portion) for less than $10. Staff is very nice and the food quality is spot on. Been here twice and will most definitely be back.

First off the picture they show is not the picture of the one I went to. It kept throwing me off when I was planning my trip using uber. You need to put a picture of the actual one that's close to the Capitol theater.
The food was good I had the shrimp enchiladas fat shrimp with rice and beans. The sauce was similar to Thousand Island dressing maybe a little bit spicier. It was different having something sweet on enchiladas. I also had the sopapillas I'm not used to having them crunchy I'm used to having them soft. I like them crunchy. I also had a little bit of guacamole to put on top of my enchiladas. Sangria was good. I wish the staff spoke English a little better I was trying to get something across and it was really hard. I forget I can have my phone translate. I would go again.

My family and I have been coming to Tequila’s since we first moved to the area back in 2014. Today I consider myself to be one of Tequilas biggest fans! My order never changes, I get the same thing every time…and every time it is the exact same AMAZING meal. The “3 Item Combination” is my go-to. 2 Cheese Enchiladas and 1 Beef Enchilada. It comes with rice and refried beans. Let me tell you, these are the best enchiladas I’ve ever had, anywhere. When we go out of town, we try other Mexican restaurants and NOTHING COMPARES TO TEQUILAS. The chips and salsa are also so fresh and delicious. The salsa I could eat by the gallon, it’s that good.
If you’re looking for consistently good Mexican style food, Tequila’s is it. My absolute favorite restaurant!

Juan was our server, excellent!!! We found the new location, finally! In downtown Clearwater!! Amazing dinner and drinks!! Food was amazing, and everyone was very nice!! Cute decor! We will be back!!

We had an excellent visit here and will definitely be back. We had the spinach dip, frozen swirl margarita and a couple of beers before the meal, then ordered 2 kinds of tacos. Service was great, food was delicious (steak tacos Al pastor were the best!!) and it’s a beautiful restaurant atmosphere.

Great flavor and good service with a friendly staff. Tacos run from traditional Mexican street style to traditional American style. The shrimp cocktail is one of the best I ever had with quality shrimp, great texture of the sauce, and a flavor that is bold yet sweet. More avocado would have made the dish absolutely the best I ever had versus one of the best. Quesadillas are great size and stuffed full on ingredients. Enchiladas with red sauce are a great smooth texture, made fresh, and have a sauce that is bold with a tad of sweetness. And fried ice cream is there along with other more traditional desserts to end your dinner on a pleasant note. This has become my 'go to' for my Mexican craving.

We've been coming here for years, and even though we live an hour away now, we still drive down for taco Tuesday. The chicken tacos... 🤩 SO GOOD. They care about their customers, the owner cares about her business and the experience the customers are having. They are always quick to fix anything that might be made wrong, and they are VERY quick on taco Tuesdays. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes tonight, and everything was as amazing as always. We love this restaurant.

Bartender TAYO is the absolute man!!! Have never seen a bartender make taking care of a 20 person bar look so effortless all by himself! Coming back again just to see him! Perfect spot for a last minute date night, with an expansive menu of killer food and delicious margs. Muy Bueno! I highly Recommend the ranchero guacamole.

I had an Uber eats delivered. Everything was still hot chimichangas not greasy stuffed full amazing cheese sauce. Will definitely order again

If you’re a mojito fan this I place is what’s up!!! The patio is an extra nice touch to go with the refreshing cocktails & delicious eats! Not to mention draft beers and house margs were 2 for 1 🍻🌶

This is my favorite Mexican place in the area. The food is very flavorful, the tortilla chips are served warm, the salsa tastes homemade. I love the chicken chimichanga and my husband really enjoyed the shrimp chimi.

best mexican food i’ve had since leaving texas three calendars ago! we come here religiously! the staff is good and the food even better! steak tacos are my fave. two for one drinks, deck seating..... maaaaaan!

I ordered through doordash, unfortunately doordash had an error which provented me from getting notified when the driver delivered the food. But im not gunna hold the driver accountable for that, the food was still warm when i eventually checked, and it was amazing. Would order again
