The Double L Restaurant

Absolutely the most incredible little restaurant. Ellijay's best, for sure. Have been here twice now, and they never fail to give you the best eating experience. Get the au gratin potatoes when you can. If you've never had them before, it will be an eye opener for you like it was for me. Their chicken casserole, chicken tenders, baked fish, and their smoky cheddar beef and noodles are also top drawer eats.

Loved a very delicious Thanksgiving meal here twice—once in 2021 and this year 2023. Amazing homemade food with hearty portions! Thank you so much for serving us today.

Set up like a cafeteria. Food is fresh, hot and home made like Granny used to do. Family oriented.

Food was great. Price is reasonable. Cafeteria line was a little long due to time of day but was moving fast.

We had a great meal at Double L. It is cafeteria style with some great southern food.

My wife and I stopped here on Thanksgiving after receiving a recommendation from a Facebook Ellijay group. How many places in Ellijay are really open ON Thanksgiving, after all?
Holy cow! The food was amazing, the staff was friendly, and it was great to talk with some locals while waiting in line. True, we waited about an hour to eat, but after all it’s Thanksgiving. The turkey, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, okra, peach cobbler, etc. were ALL excellent. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town.

Great Saturday Breakfast spot, country fried steak is delicious if you can catch it, salad bar always looks great. Delicious sweet tea.

Went Saturday and Sunday last week while traveling through for kids basketball games. Really, really good. It is Cafeteria style so you go through the line and see before you pick. Then your at your table and eat then out. Awesome food!

One of the best places to eat in town. It makes me think of all the country cooking places that were all I over America, before the chains pushed them out. The staff is always nice and the food is always great. The prices are also very reasonable and it's a hit with the whole family. It's nice to be able to take the family out, without breaking myself.
I work during the week, so I don't get to make it in often, but I try to eat here at least once or twice a month.

Really good country cooking. My husband said it reminded him of my late grandmothers cooking. And the staff were all really nice and helpful.

It's more of a cafe style. Servings are large portions, and deserts are excellent. You can get multiple sides if you want for a decent price.

We came from out of state and the ladies at the counter were so friendly and understanding that we had no idea what we wanted because it's a cafeteria style place. Food was delicious and don't pass on the desserts they are amazing!

We had Double L catered our Thanksgiving dinner for 6, it was delicious and there was enough food for 10. I highly recommend them !! Thank you for making a feast for us away from our Orlando Fl home. Special shout out to Tammy L, for her southern hospitality.

Best home style cooking around! Very reasonable price. Love it!

I knew this would be a good place when I saw all the local workers and retirees coming in. We interacted with several, all were good natured and fun. Of interest, the guy next to me was tattooed and shaggy haired and a bit dusty from the workday. He bowed his head and said a prayer before dining. I'm thinking that's the kind of good folk who live around here and come to this place.

WE TOOK A GROUP OF AROUND THIRTY FROM A SENIOR CENTER IN FOR LUNCH. THEY EXPERTLY HANDLED OUR GROUP AND TWO OTHERS AROUND THE SAME SIZE WITH EASE. WE ALL LEFT HAPPY AND FULL....

If you don't like good home cooking and friendly service then this is not your place to eat. I have never eaten at the Double L and come away hungry. The staff are always friendly and coming to your table asking if you need anything.

Just good food at good prices with good staff. Doesn't get better than that. If you want high prices and small portions then eat elsewhere.
