The warmth and beauty of the entirety of this property is exceptional! Chevin is a generous hostess with a true love of helping with our special day. It’s nice knowing we can house out of town guests on the property. Accessibility for our limited mobility folks looks easy. There’s space for all wedding activities from start to finish. The catering space will definitely suit our caterers away from our guests. Joy radiates across this property and we’re very much looking forward to sharing our special day with our families at Splendor Mountain!

For People who love short reviews: Chevin Woodruff and her son Uri, provided outstanding service for the use of their entire Mountain view property, including rehearsal space, reception building, and gorgeous outdoor area for the wedding service. Chevin has great love and care for the people that come to Splendor Mountain. Uri works extremely hard to make sure the property and buildings look fresh and well kept. It has been just over two months and we are still so impressed by the level of care and support we received the entire weekend. You will not be disappointed if you select Splendor Mountain for your wedding venue.

For People who love long reviews: Chevin Woodruff and her son Uri provided our son and our new daughter in law with the most outstanding service for their wedding weekend. From the moment our families met Chevin we knew we were in good hands. The property is outstanding with broad sweeping views of the mountains and feels isolated yet only about 10-15 minutes from Clayton. It has many vista spots, trails, a pond, lovely buildings and two cabins for lodging (extra). It was a fantastic weekend!! We visited the venue several times throughout the process, Chevin was always happy to answer questions and let us walk around the property working out our plans. She spent several hours meeting with us and the wedding planner. There is not a more patient person on earth than Chevin. Uri is the other powerhouse member of the team, he works tirelessly on improving the property, maintaining the buildings and setting up for the ceremony.
The property is beautiful and meant to be secluded. If you want paved sidewalks, flat easy roads and WIFI, then this is not the place. If you want a mountain view, walking trails, nature in all her glory then this is the place. So peaceful!
Chevin has worked with many people in the area and she had several recommendations for vendors to make the weekend complete. We really liked Jean from Apple Blossom for the flowers, Jenny from Frommage, for the rehearsal dinner, Carlton for bartending, Honeybrook catering, for the reception dinner, DJ connections, Giselle from Luna Rose Events, and last but not least Karen who helped both Chevin and Giselle. It takes a village!
It has been just over two months and we are still so impressed by the level of care and support we received the entire weekend. You will not be disappointed if you select Splendor Mountain for your wedding venue.

I cannot recommend Splendor Mountain enough. Chevin was an absolute dream to work with and so helpful. She is gracious and truly cares about her clients. We had our wedding here in September of this year, and the property honestly feels like paradise. It is beyond stunning, and the cabins we stayed in were so cute and spacious! Chevin was incredible from the moment I called to inquire about the venue all the way to telling her goodbye after our wedding. If you are looking for a beautiful venue with plenty of backdrops to choose from, this is the place. I loved it so much. So many locations for pictures no matter what the occasion is. Downtown Clayton is not a far drive at all if you are looking for some good restaurants and coffee shops. We loved our experience here!

A very SPLENDID, Splendor Mountain family reunion!
What a beautiful, fun-filled mini family reunion we had this August... A whirlwind 22 of us, from ages 18 months to 75! The grounds and cottages Ruby & Sapphire were filled with joyful hoots n' hollers, play & comfort.. Our meals were delicious and picking up groceries from nearby Ingles/Walmart or any number of eateries in town, easy as pie/cakes. The weather a perfect late summer, balmy weekend.. There were different areas for the kids to swim, throw frisbees, play chase & catch. The cottages were perfect. moms and dads and kids and grands sleeping up to six in beds on the main floor & loft. The downstairs had game tables with lots of additional floor space to add a few blowup mattresses. There were also comfy beds for six and a full bathroom downstairs as well. Most of our meals were in the Sunrise Lodge, where there is a huge kitchen for cooking & eating lunch and dinner or preparing a picnic lunch if the families wanted to explore & hike. Our family had at least one big meal on Saturday there, with everyone bringing something yummy (I've never seen so much food!!).. We were having so much fun all day & night.. swimming, eating, talking & playing that we didn't have time to go up to the overlook for a bonfire & s'mores (next time!!). The lodge has a small fire pit, so everyone stayed at the lodge. There is also a walking labyrinth on the property for reflective & meditative relaxation. Most of all the time went so fast! We promised to organize another bigger family reunion for 2023 or 2024. In the meantime, we feel blessed that our dear sister hostess Chevin and nephew Uri and niece Rachael, have created, with such oving care & attention to detail, a very Splendid Splendor Mountain for the enjoyment of all who visit! We have so many photos & videos to enjoy & re-live our fantastic Woodruff-Illges gathering!

We had our wedding November 9, 2019 and it could not have been more PERFECT. The owners were always so welcoming and always willing to help in the months leading up to the big day. We did the weekend package and would 100% recommend doing so, you are able to have the rehearsal dinner there, we even decided last minute that we wanted to have a fire up on the very top of the mountain at the fire pit and they did it with no questions asked! The bridal party stayed in the two cabins Friday night, wedding was Saturday and they along with their plus ones were able to stay Saturday after the reception. It was the perfect size, plenty of room and loved the woods/cabin feel. The honeymoon suite was just the perfect size for what we needed and nice and secluded so we woke up and walked outside, hearing the water running from the creek and was a great way to wake up the morning after. We can't say enough wonderful things about Splendor Mountain, it truly made our day so special!

My family and I have enjoyed our multiple visits to Splendor Mountain over the years. The whole property is beautiful, the accommodations are very comfortable and beautifully put together. The owner carved this magnificent facility out of a mountainside and makes it available for individuals, small and large groups, weddings and events. A few years ago I brought a retreat group up for a long weekend and it all ran flawlessly. I love walking in the woods, meditating as I walk the labyrinth, star gazing at night.
I highly recommend Splendor Mountain for your next North Georgia sojourn. It's not a hotel, it's a destination of its own.

My son got married at Splendor Mountain! What an incredible weekend! The facilities are beyond beautiful! Steve had some very creative ideas. Chevin is a love!! I just wish I had the time to really enjoy the serenity of the place. At first I thought it was a little out of the way. But once there I realized it perfectly matched the personalities of our bride and groom. Thank you so much for a memory that will last forever!

I have been to Splendor Mountain Resort several times. This is a 'NOT TO MISS' place to stay! It is secluded in the beauty of the GA mountains with more Southern Elegance and Charm than you can imagine! From the accommodations-to the lodge for large gatherings-to the southern hospitality of the owners, there are not enough words to say to tell you about this wonderful piece of heaven. If you are going by yourself to just get away or need a place for a retreat or family gathering, THIS IS THE SPOT!!
On our last visit, we stayed in the Pavilion Suite. We had a WONDERFUL time!!
It is totally awesome for a honeymoon or couple get away. All you need for a romantic stay. The cabins are perfect for a larger group or family.
Also....the best place on earth for a destination wedding!!! Don't miss this experience!!

You will not find a more beautiful ceremony spot. This views are breathtaking. The bridal suite is adorable and convenient and the reception area is so elegant. There is not a bad view from any seat! I also loved there are cabins that can be rented on the property so you can stay the night and the have everything you need. On top of that there’s a honey moon suite!!! It is a secluded cabin on the mountain overlooking a little waterfall. What more could you ask for? Well if your are worried about customer service, here you will find the most thoughtful and caring people. I can not say enough about them!

I had my wedding in May 2015 and stayed for the entire weekend. The place was positively stunning! There were flowers blooming everywhere and the mountain views blew everyone away. I hardly had to spend any money on decor for the ceremony because the natural beauty of the surroundings took care of most of it. The rest was provided by the venue in the way of cute refreshment stands, big wooden tables, iron candelabras and fairy lights in the ceiling. Seriously, most things you need are already provided for you. There are so many adorable and enjoyable little things everywhere too. I don't understand some of the reviews mentioning rudeness as the owners were more than accommodating in every way, and helped me in any way they could. A few months before the wedding I asked if they might be able to make a tree swing for some cute wedding photos. Now, they may have already been considering doing this, but they in fact got one up and swinging before my wedding date, and it was perfect! They even provide ample wood for every fire pit or fireplace in the areas where festivities were happening. Chevin clearly loves weddings, and she practically beams as everything falls into place on the big day. Every single guest told me they loved the place, and even inquired about coming back and staying for a future vacation. I definitely plan to come back when I can, because it's such a lovely tranquil place to enjoy the mountains.

This is such a special place to have your wedding! The customer service you will receive from owners Chevin and Steve will be welcoming and warm. They will go out of their way to meet and exceed your needs. They are genuine and sincere people who truly love what they do. You will feel right at home staying at their resort and you won't want to leave!

The property is such a great place for a mountain wedding! The views are spectacular and will make for great wedding photographs. There is a waterfall, rolling hills, a lake, hiking paths and plenty of nature all around. It is quiet, peaceful and clean.

The lodging is so homey and adorable. You can choose a cottage for your wedding party that will sleep up to 12 guests. The cottages have fireplaces and upscale features that offer a cozy cottage feel. You will love it! We did!

I attended an event at Splendor Mountain for what turned out to be a surprise birthday party for me! I thought we were going there to help move some furniture. When I walked in I was surprised by the owners Chevin and Steve, and a decorated room full of friends who came from far and wide to celebrate my birthday! The hosts helped put everything together and made sure we had anything we needed and that everyone and their cars were kept hidden until the surprise was sprung. What a great experience that was and I will always remember that day fondly. Chevin and Steve are the most gracious, kind and neighborly people you will ever meet. You can tell how much they love Splendor Mountain and want to share it with others. It is a testament to their good character how well they take care of their guest, who become their friends and family. What a great time we had and I highly recommend Splendor Mountain for a memorable special occasion.

Splendor Mountain is an absolute gorgeous and hidden gem! My husband and I married there eleven years ago and just returned to celebrate our anniversary in the full fall foliage. From the beautiful private lodges to the breathtaking views, cozy fire pits, and wooded trails, it is one of our family's favorite getaways!

I stumbled upon Splendor Mountain through a friend and I am so glad that I did! Not only are Steve and Chevin the most wonderful and inviting couple, their venue + lodging are by far the most unique and spectacular I have ever come across. If you are looking for a sweet and secluded getaway with family or gathering friends near and far for a wedding, Splendor Mountain should be your destination. We loved staying in Sapphire lodge for two evenings and felt right at home! Waking up and having coffee on the beautiful porch and watching the falling leaves transported me to some place too magical! My husband and I didn't want to leave!

Can't wait to visit again and again and again!

We called up the owners, Chevin and Steve, last minute, and they met us at Splendor Mountain the same day with a fire in the Sunrise lodge fireplace when we arrived.  The property is beautiful with expansive views from the garden, a warm rustic lodge, a quiet pond, two spacious yet cozy cabins and a secluded pavilion spread throughout the forest.  The different areas provide lots of options for an event, whether it is indoor, outdoor, small, or large.  Being in the mountains there are also many opportunities for activities in the surrounding area.  I loved the rustic and secluded feel of the entire place.  Chevin and Steve personally drove us around the property before sitting down with us by the fireplace to talk through our vision for our wedding.  They were more than accommodating, drew on their past experience for suggestions, and listened to our concerns.  They really add a wonderful personal touch.  Unfortunately we were unable to have our wedding here due to some logistical reasons, but we loved visiting it.  If you are interested in a very personal, unique wedding/event in the mountains, I would definitely recommend visiting this place.

I've spent many wonderful days at gorgeous Splendor Mountain in Ruby and Sapphire cabins. What a great place to get back into touch with your inner being! A beautiful get away.

The cabins are not really cabins - but more like what I would call a lodge. They sleep - I don't know - maybe 12 or 15 people. There are several bedrooms, a loft, a downstairs with several beds. All very comfortable and tastefully decorated. It's good for two wanting an intimate weekend away or for two, three, or four families with kids. Or great for a group of 8 or 10 friends wanting a place that fosters camaraderie - hang out, play cards late at night with the fire blazing. Or wake up early, eat a big breakfast and head over to the Chattooga River. Or for a family retreat or reunion. Great hiking - the rhododendron and mountain laurel are beautiful in the spring. I've stayed there with friends and played cards late into the night with the kids sleeping downstairs and I've stayed there with only two of us. It doesn't take long to get there - about an hour and 45 minutes (from Atlanta). I think this is going to be my "go to" place to get away when I want to the hit the mountains with kids, friends, or a romantic weekend. There is so much to do - we went on a local winery and vineyard tour and had a blast.

Naturally beautiful, serene, private location with very nice cabins and amenities yet conveniently close to downtown Clayton and 2 beautiful lakes, Rabun and Burton. Lots to do and see from a well kept, gorgeous piece of property. A great find for a relaxing stay in a very peaceful environment.

Beautiful facilities, amazing surroundings, very personal atmosphere. We hosted a private dinner party at Splendor Mountain. Steve and Chevin were awesome. They both made sure we had everything we needed. The evening was magical. The beautiful farm table all decked out with touches of fall and candlelight next to the glow of the fireplace made for a night to remember. If you are looking for a intimate and private place to host your event, this is it.

The owner of Splendor Mountain allowed me to shoot my friends engagement session on the property. She was super friendly and welcoming. And the views are breathtaking!
