Palmettos On The Bayou

I have been here several times and it’s my family’s fave place. The food is really good and the ambience is the best! It’s a place where we feel cozy and relax and of course the fine food is totally pampering!
It’s not too expensive but it’s not the cheapest either , anyways I think it’s worth it for the experience of eating in such a soulful place!

We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and I’m so glad that we finally did! We had oysters and beet salad for the appetizers and trout almandine for the entree. Everything was super delicious! We will definitely be back 😊

This is a great restaurant located in a beautiful location (behind the train station in old downtown Slidell). There is both indoor and outdoor seating - choose the outdoor! The service was too-notch and the food was bursting with flavor. We definitely will be back this way!!

I failed to take good pictures because the food was so good. We started off with the chargrilled oysters that were plump and buttery and delicious. We ordered the special, a 16oz bone-in steak with crab on top and a blue cheese butter. It was fantastic. They also accommodated our request to make broiled Brussels sprouts which were the best I’ve ever had.

Then afterwards as they were closing down, Jorge took the time to show us around the whole place and the expansion, and was very hospitable and excited about some of the updates. This is the definitely the place to be and is only getting better.

Hands down the best meal of our trip to NOLA!! We went for brunch as they opened on a Friday and pretty much had the place to ourselves. We started with and amazing plate of oysters on the half shell and then we each had the fried boudin Benedict. Definitely the best Benedict I've ever had. The service was great and the place was just flat out beautiful...I HIGHLY recommend!!...

From the food, the drinks, and service, everything was delightful. We're already planning our next visit. Although walk-ins are accepted, a reservation is preferred, trust me.

Amazing ambiance! Bayou, lights, decking absolutely perfect! Friendly and helpful wait staff. BBQ shrimp and grits delicious! Wedge salad crisp with excellent dressing. We loved our experience!

When I have to leave other bad reviews, I try and balance it with good ones. Luckily, I tried palmettos this weekend and loved it. Extremely friendly staff, great food, okay prices, loved the atmosphere at brunch with the jazz music. The food, drinks, and experience was all amazing and something I'll be back for again 😀

The wife and I had a great experience at Palmetto's tonigh. Steve the bartender made wonderful drinks and suggested the ravioli which was also a wonderful treat. After that treat we went and had a seat on the bayou outside and had a wonderful supper. Everything was excellent. We even left with bread pudding for dessert which I am about to tear into now at my hotel. Wonderful experience overall.

I went here for the first time yesterday and I was extremely impressed it was steak night and they has this delicious butter mushroom on top of the richest ribeye I ever tasted and it was amazing I also had the duck gumbo and oysters soon good they had a live band and the ambiance was perfect our server was amazing too all of the staff honestly they were so friendly and I could tell the love what they do I felt so welcomed I think I might have my wedding here ~ I will definitely come back. Eat here you won't regret it

My husband and I visited Friday evening around 7pm. Palmetto's is a casual semi fine eatery. Attire does not require a suit jacket. The food is 100% A+ Grade. There were no wait times but we did have reservations and the restaurant was full so I would suggest reservations for dinner during busy times. The setting is large open rooms with clean white linen table cloths, silver utensils, well lit warm lighting, beautiful old draft windows and, for our visit, a harpist playing softly. It’s Jazzy. I enjoyed it , and will visit again.

Southern charm is a great way to describe this gem. Great ambiance with outdoor dining, live music and great service to complement fantastic food. Shrimp and grits and red fish with a crawfish etouffe.

The service was amazing, the food was so good, and the atmosphere is to die for. I'm glad we stopped by for dinner.

Had a wonderful experience for my birthday recently. Made reservations online, only had to wait 10 mins. for our table. Service was friendly and professional without being pushy. The foods arrival was timed properly. Everything was great. We were really hoping that they would have restarted the buffet brunch, but no, only ala carte. The only thing that could be improved is regarding prompt removal of dirty plates.

Stunning ambience with outstanding New Orleans food, a very nice wine list, and the best service we had over five days stay. The crab cake was perfect. The salad with kale and beets was really fun. The trout on the dean is one of the top I have had. The Pontchartrain catch was really fun of blackened, grouper, shrimp, over winter vegetables. Outstanding! Again. The wine menu was short and sweet, but it was fairly priced and picked to go with the food obviously. We would go back. May even make a special trip to go back again.

Lunch was amazing. Everything tasted great, the service was as you would expect from a nice restaurant, the ambiance was perfect for a sister lunch date. Will definitely come here again.

An amazing experience.

Great food, good atmosphere, and top tier service.

My wife ordered the Troute Almondine, and I had the Crispy Chicken and Waffles. The food was fantastic.

If you get the Chicken and Waffles, ask for the Syrup on the side! The waiter asked if I wanted it that way, and I thought he was warning me it was spicy. The chicken was devine, but the waffle will get pretty soggy. It was still good, but now I know for next time.
