C.J. Mugg's - Clayton

I absolutely love their food!!!! The wings and the salad!!! You have to give it a try! The salad was my absolute favorite! 5/5 all the way at around!!

Chicken and Walnut salad was delicious and my husband had the chicken sandwich and chips with great results. The staff is amazing and even gave us a Valentine’s Day chocolate.

I've been going here a while and it just dawned on me I've never reviewed it. This is one of my favorite local restaurants for a few reasons. The service is second to none. I bring my little boy here and have been on dates here as well. Each and everytime we are treated well with prompt service no matter who our server is.

They have a well rounded menu so whatever your in the mood for. The Cajun Pasta is absolutely delicious. The last thing I got from there was through doordash. I got the house salad with blackened chicken and Yukon garlic gold mashed potatoes on the side. It was so good I'm still thinking about it.

Great food and service. Others ordered spinach and artichoke dip and the hummus & olives dip. I had a smoked salmon salad. Generous portions and seasoned just right, not overly salty like a lot of the restaurants in the Midwest. Comfortable chairs which are rare. Parking was on the street. I would definitely go back.

Shrimp and Grits, Chicken Gumbo and Spicy Chicken Wings were our entree's. The food was tasty. Observation if you have restrictions on salt not overly salty, the spice is definitely there. I would definitely recommend and I will return.

Was part of group of 24 on Feb. 11 2024. Excellent friendly service. All of us were extremely satisfied with food...some.had breakfast and some.lunch items. Only minor suggestion is that restaurant was a little.chilly but we are all over 60.yrs of age. ☺

Food was great! Fresh and cooked to order. Would reccomend to anyone looking for good food. Ordered the steak sandwich, chicken caprese panini, and French toast! The French Toast was 3 slices served with fruit as a side as well as Chantilly Cream and Strawberries.

Visited Monday (10/17/2022). Party of four (4) adults. First-time visit to this C.J. Mugg's Clayton (MO) location. Was referred to this restaurant by family members living in St. Louis (MO).

Arrived between 1PM and 2PM and were seated almost immediately! Nice, cozy pub-type restaurant in the business area of town. The guests, THAT day, seemed to be enjoying their afternoon get-togethers and meals in a relaxed environment. The restaurant MAY have been at 50% capacity at the time we (four) arrived.

Our Server (Ashley?) was professional, courteous and business-minded. SHE was MY highlight of this 1st-time visit to C.J. Mugg's (Clayton MO).

I made some humorous comment about her needing to have another ARM to serve us all the food we ordered and she didn't "bite" at my attempt to earn a smile. Not one single facial muscle! LOL

She was super laid-back!

I wouldn't hesitate to refer others to C.J. Mugg's! Easy to locate and the vibe is sooo warm!

Our meals were plated quite nicely and we enjoyed them. Atmosphere was thumbs-up and Staff members were appreciative of our visit.

Will return to dine here, again, the next time I visit St. Louis (MO)!

Pizza was amazing and I will be back to try more items on the menu today! Staff handled everything with enthusiasm and played to each person's needs.

Nice after-work or evening place. In a dense part of Clayton, and the Metrolink stop is a block away. Have some dessert-y cocktails as well.

Only sad part is I didn't try one of their salads!!! Otherwise, all the food and atmosphere was amazing!

I was serving on jury duty and spotted this place across the street when it was time for lunch. Food was really good and the service was great (thank you Lindsay! :)

This was my first visit to C J Mugg's and I was pleasantly surprised my the quality of the food. I had soup and salad but both were delicious. My sister thoroughly enjoyed the fish tacos. We shared the bread pudding for dessert. We also enjoyed the house chardonnay with our meals. I do recommend C J Mugg's and I look forward to my next visit when I return to St. Louis.

My wife and I were in town for my nephews graduation this past Tuesday, and this is where he decided to go. My wife doesn't really care for tilapia, but she ordered fried tilapia sandwich and was blown away by the seasoning and taste of it. Myself, I ordered the hot wings. They were party wings but where BIG and had plenty of meat on them. Wasn't too spicy and had a nice flavor to it. I can't remember what alcoholic beverage my wife had but she thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the Long Island Ice Tea and let me tell you that the bartender needs a raise! The drink was strong and good!!! Only thing I don't like about the venue is the only parking is on the street and have to pay the meter. Outside of that, I believe we would definitely visit again if ever in town.

I had the Caprese Panini and it was excellent. The waiter was perfectly attentive yet not intrusive, and the food came out fast. I had a delicious Guinness, but the tap was too foamy.

There aren't any vegetarian options. I hope they add a couple so I can bring friends and know there will be something for them to eat!

We have dined in and out. Friendly, quick service, most dishes great. Husband loves shrimp and grits.

The potato skins were something to write home about! The skins were crispy and the filling was blended perfectly. Also, the creole gumbo was spiced right and the portion was generous for a $10 bowl! I didn't catch the waitresses name, but she was delightful and our service was on point. Thank you CJ Muggs for a nice meal in St Louis!

The food is always good here. I order through doordash and it is hot and fresh. I get the tenders, potato skins, cheeseburger, or fish tacos. All are good. Burgers are a nice size and the portions here are good.
