The ambiance is remarkable. Surrounded by classical French paintings, fine furniture, bold colors, and elegance in every detail, the experience is certainly memorable. The Gruyère Soufflé was light and airy, rich and creamy, and absolutely delightful! The Seared Salmon and Duck Confit were both perfectly prepared and delicious. This restaurant is such a find!

Delicious bistro meal in a cozy, unique setting. They rotate their menu frequently so no 2 meals are the same. Great romantic dinner spot for 2.

Amazing place for dinner. The place is not so spacious but has a nice outdoor dining area. The bone marrow appetizer was fabulous and the filet was delicious.

Wonderful unique atmosphere with delicious food and cocktails.
Very nice intimate setting, it was a great choice for a classy and romantic night out on our anniversary.
On the more expensive side but it was worth it. I don't think you have to have a reservation but I would recommend it. Seating was limited but we went during the winter and the outdoor seating was closed.

Husband and I went here last night for our anniversary. Wonderful experience. Customer service exceeded both our expectations. Our waiter who was also the bartender had a great demeanor and was very helpful in recommendations from drinks to the menu. Ambiance was romantic and comfortable. Lobster bisque is the best we both had tasted. Highly recommend!!!!.

Pricey, but what isn't in Clayton? I would say it is worth every penny! The staff is incredibly attentive, the food is PHENOMENAL!!!! We went here because my husband received a gift card from work. We were not disappointed at all. Everything we ordered was pure PERFECTION. I couldn't have asked for a better meal. The duck is superb, I almost didn't let my hubby try it. I wanted to keep it all to myself. Lol

Hands down my favorite restaurant in St. Louis. Normally when we go to restaurants that we enjoy, there is one thing that stands out, in the case of Bar Les Freres every single thing that we ordered was simply outstanding. We had an appetizer, entree each, and dessert. I really cannot say what I enjoyed best, though the pear that we had for dessert was truly incredible. The service was excellent as well. We told our waiter what drinks we typically enjoy and he made recommendations based upon that which were perfect. I cannot wait to go back.

Amazing. Simply amazing.

This was my first fine-dining experience, and I was blown away. The service and the food were both incredible.

The menu is definitely on the pricey side, but the quality makes up for it. The average entree is about $28. We tried the Gruyere Souffle (appetizer), Filet Mignon, Almond-Crusted Trout, and their Chocolate Mousse for dessert. All were simply fantastic - I highly recommend each of the mentioned dishes.

The service was also impressive. They will take your coat before you sit down and bring you a roll before your appetizer comes. They present you with the proper silverware for each part of the meal, as well. The staff was also notable for being courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive (our glasses never went empty).

If you're looking for a romantic, upscale place to enjoy astounding French food, then stop looking. Go to Bar Les Frères. You will not regret it.

I went there today 12-12-17 for my anniversary with my wife. It was our first time at a French Restaurant, and it was probably the best we have ever eaten!
The staff is so friendly and courteous, we had a minor hiccup with our main entree, but the Owner fixed the issue immediately.
Great service and Great food!
Please give this restaurant a try, if you do make sure you try the Trout :) Delicious almond batter!

This place is quentisental country French food. The ambiance was pleasant with dim lighting, candles. The server, Mike, was incredibly attentive without being overbearing. He explained the on and off menu items we had questions about and made drink recommendations that paired perfectly. The pace of the meal was fantastic. We spent nearly two hours here and it was almost magical. I'm running out of superlatives for this place but the $200 that we spent will be repeated at least monthly and with friends.

Bar Les Freres is a beautiful bar and restaurant. Previously to this visit, I had only been in for cocktails, and so was wondering how the food would fare. I was completely blown away by the impeccable service, outstanding menu, and incredible attention to detail. Bar Les Freres is ideal for a romantic night out, as the decor and atmosphere is perfect for those wishing to celebrate life's beauty. I highly recommend Bar Les Freres for those wishing to make a great impression, seal the deal on a romantic interest, or simply enjoy themselves in a luxurious and bygone time of elegance.

I love this restaurant! The atmosphere is so chic, from the red walls and antique portraits to the black and gold bread plates. The food is even better. My favorite dish (in winter, at least) is the cassoulet - probably one of the heartiest, best French dishes I've ever had, period, and I've lived in France. (Although, the sausage was a tad overcooked the last time I went, a minor complaint.) The gougeres and the lobster bisque are also highly recommended. The service is great, and the waiters are knowledgeable about the food and, perhaps more importantly, the wine. They make great recommendations. This restaurant is great for a date night, but definitely book a reservation because it's small and fills up fast!

Exquisite dining with superb food and great service. Not inexpensive but worth every penny. The old world ambience in this small restaurant is unique. Very European indeed, except perhaps the noisy American customers. Probably a Tuesday or Wednesday night will be more intimate. Highly recommended.

Been about a year since we have dined here, but as usual was outstanding. Had a 6 PM Saturday reservation and hostess opened door for us with a smile and took us to our table that was waiting. Waitress was engaging, and total staff attentive, professional and worked together as a team. Appetizers and entrees excellent. Had the scallop app which was also a entree special and was perfect (seared and cooked to perfection with a nice small broth). Was going to go with lamb chops but my wife suggested I go for the duck confit since I make decent nice lamb chops myself- but never make duck. Glad she suggested that- best duck I have ever had and the sides offered many layers to the total dish. Went well with the "house Cote de Rhone. Rich very lemony creme brulle for nice finish. Only downside was our table was small and only one type of coffee- but these were minor distractions to this 5-Star dining experience.

There's a reason it was voted one of St. Louis' most romantic restaurants. Our meal was exquisite and the staff was friendly. We truly enjoyed the beautiful artwork as well.

Wonderful French cuisine. Fantastic New Orleans and french inspired cocktail and wine list. The space is filled with interesting art and rustic french decor. Service is also outstanding.
