I just had the best experience at this shop! I brought in a borrowed bike because the tire was flat, and they fixed it right away. It's spring, so I thought my own bike might need a tuneup, they said bring it in and they could tell me if it did - lucky me, it did not. I am a very new bike rider, and Matt was kind enough to walk me through why, since it didn't need a tuneup, I might be having difficulty with the gearing on my current bike and what I could do to improve it. Even though I know basically nothing about bikes, I was awed by the kindness with which Matt shared his knowledge.

I called Big Shark after my daughter had a very specific new bike request from Santa. I asked if they have what she is looking for and was told they have a few options available. I said I'd be in that afternoon. When I came in, Dave directed me to the back where they were assembling a bike specifically for my daughter! It was exactly what she asked for. I thought I was going to spend all day driving around looking for what she wanted, but I found it at my first stop. I was so impressed with the employees taking such initiative when I hadn't even confirmed I'd be making a purchase. I thought this was wonderful customer service and I will return to Big Shark for any future bike needs :)

Needed saddle posts swapped, and an Alinker rear wheel inner tube swapped. Lacking the tools and strength to do it myself, I went here on my cousin's recommendation.

Not only were they able to do it immediately, it only cost $20 and about 10 minutes of labor. They even ensured the rear tire was properly inflated before I left.

The best bike shop you can find! Their service is fantastic, the technicians are absolutely great and the selection of bikes, accessories, shoes and high-end equipment is excellent! Bought my Cannondale there 5 years ago and keep going back for all other stuff. Love Big Shark!

I’ve been relying on Big Shark for my bike questions, repairs, and advice. The staff is always kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. They are always very accommodating and easy to communicate with via call or email!

Updating my review! I had returned that bike. They do trade-ins and were willing to look at my bike and take it back for a fair price for store credit. The bike (green) felt too compact but large for me. The man helping me out took his time and I did not feel rushed. He also showed me that my mounting and dismounting techniques were wrong and taught me the proper ways and even watched me test the bikes out. He was very hands on which I enjoyed.
While trying a bike out, a tire was not beaded properly and it popped very loudly, almost like a gun shot, so that was jarring but they were very nice and cared about me, not worrying about the bike.
I found a bike, a grey one, and only had to pay a small amounts difference from the bike trade in. I really enjoyed my second buying experience more.

(3/22)I just got a new bike there and the man who helped me was very nice. He helped me find a bike that fit me and my preference. He was kind and took his time with my me. I will return to Big Shark get my bike tuned up when needed. I am excited to get in shape with this bike.

There were two store dogs there which I was excited to see but when I went to crouch down and talk to the older dog under a rack, he started barking. This set the younger dog off who started barking and jumped up on me. It was a bit my fault for not asking the dogs' owner first but I guess one would assume that a dog in a store is friendly enough to not bark and jump on someone. I was taken back a bit and none of the workers seemed surprised by this action of the dogs.

Another great experience at Big Shark. I took my 15 year old single speed mountain bike in with a flat. I don't ride the bike all that much so I figured there might be some age issues with the tires, the brakes, and who know what else I've been deferring. I was prepared to replace the tires and brakes and whatever else. Nope. The tech told me the tires and brakes were fine and the bike was in good shape other than a crank set (?) that needed to be tightened. He replaced the tube, tightened the crank set, and installed a new and much more comfortable saddle, and I still left spending about 60% of what I figured I would.
In the short time it took the tech to work on my bike, a sales associate helped me look at a single speed road bike. He was super helpful and patient, and not at all pushy. But what I appreciate the most is this: For a shop that sells bikes from the cheapest decent bikes you can buy up to those in the $10,000+ range, and is staffed by real biking enthusiasts, I'm never made to feel 'lesser' because I'm not a huge bike enthusiast, am looking at bikes in the lower ranges, and really don't know that much about the products. Big Shark is staffed by experts who are also judgment-free. Well done.

We love this business. I honestly can’t say enough good things about their service and all the people who work there. We have 7 kids and have probably bought close to 15 bikes from them over the years. Every purchase has been easy. They help our kids pick out an appropriate bike without pressure to buy the most expensive bike. Yesterday, I brought my 10 year old to pick up a new bike we had ordered last week. One employee spent about 10 minutes teaching him how to work the gears while they had the bike suspended in a device to let him practice. The gentleman was patient and treated my son like an adult. This store is a gem. Cannot recommend enough. Kudos to the owner for hiring and training excellent employees. Great customer service will always have us coming back

Amazing service. I popped my inner tube somehow and my gears were messed up so I took it back to them and they changed it right there and then free of charge. They are also great in helping select bikes based on your needs.

I went in thinking I'll just buy some new tires for my 30yo raleigh and they put them on for me, fixed my rack, trued my wheels, and helped me figure out what was going on with my gears, all in about 30 minutes! What i thought was crickety charm apparently just needed some TLC from big shark. Great service! Nice, friendly, helpful team of people! I will definitely be back.

Stopped by today, first time customer.
They quickly got the gears adjusted on an old bike I acquired from a family member and looked over it for me.
The technician who serviced it was very informative and filled me in on some of the details on the older bike before I get out on it.
I was impressed by the customer service and will return for future service or when time comes for a new one.

I went in to have my brakes adjusted. The service provider was polite and friendly. They completed the work while I waited. I was very impressed with the shop, the service, and the team.

They sorted me out immediately when I walked in with a flat tyre. It was a small job (new rim tape and a quick check of the brakes) but the workshop guy did it quickly and well. The job was also much cheaper than I expected (I think that they charged me $9 for labour!). I'd been before to get new brake pads and that was a great experience too. Quick, friendly, and reliable service, even for a not-at-all-serious commuter cyclist like me.

I dropped in to Big Shark to look at a particular road bike with the thought that I needed a sized large. The sales lady helped me locate that bike and then spent about thirty or so minutes trying to get the fit just right before it became apparent to her that I really needed an extra large. Again, another 30 minutes to get the fit just right - all without the guarantee that I would even buy a bike from them. Ultimately I did buy a bike, I ordered the XL in a different color. When the bike came in, the owner realized that he mistakenly ordered one model better than the one I had requested. Rather than make me wait for the lesser bike I had ordered, he sold me the better bike at the price of the original bike I had ordered. As a business owner myself, I can see that the commitment to customer satisfaction is there and I will be a customer for life. I'm sure the margins on bikes aren't all that great and he probably made nothing on the bike sale to me, but my satisfaction was more important to them. Don't tell him, but I would have probably waited another week and not been too mad but I happily took the deal! BTW, they spent another 45 minutes making sure the bike was properly set up and fit to me perfectly and I have just about 25 miles on it and it's just right. My friend bought his bike from another shop and they sell a lifetime tune up package for $120. At Big Shark, it's included with the price of the bike! Just go there to buy your bike, no snob factor, just great service!

I had bought a bike online and needed some adjustments so stopped the store in Chesterfield. They were booked up on service, but they told me to bring the bike in real quick so they could look at it. They adjusted my bike right there and then. While there, my hubby saw a bike he liked. These wonderful, amazing people helped me pull off the ultimate Fathers Day surprise and were happy and excited to do so! I paid for the bike over the phone and they helped me cook up an elaborate scheme to get him there to pick it up and make sure the size was correct without him being one bit the wiser! If you want amazing service, go to Big Shark. I think they were just as excited as I was to surprise him! Craig, Lucy, everyone else that helped me, You all rock!

They were open when others were closed. Superb service. I brought in a bike that needed quite a bit of work. Bike rides like new now. I appreciate their bike craftsmanship practice and they totally deserve it. I am full time student right now and I downsized to a bicycle. My bike is something I need at least once a week. When I originally called, I was quoted that I might have to wait until a date 3 weeks ahead. Nonetheless, I took my bike there and I worked with William. Throughout the process, he looked out for what would be the best for me and he got me on the road within one day because he knew I needed my bike back very soon. I appreciate that. Initially, we tried getting it running cheaply but some noises drove me crazy in a few places and by riding it outside and giving them feedback we were able to solve all of the problems. I am very satisfied with my experience. 👍 Thank you.

I wanted a 24 inch cruiser and they found a Reid at another location, which will be shipped here and put together for me next week. He listened to me and was very helpful. I got some cute socks, too. This is great bike store.

They're awesome. Twice now they've figured out how to keep my commuter bike going for as little money as possible. The repair guy quotes a price while you're talking. He could have easily sold me a pair of new tires, but instead I'm saving $120. Thanks Big Shark!!!
