Rick's Ace Hardware

I am from Pennsylvania and was doing some home repairs for my nephew and we needed some extra tools. They had what we went their for. It is a really nice place. The staff was helpful. It would be a "go to" place for this handyman if I lived in the area.

They were patient and helpful and went way out of their way to troubleshoot some issues that occurred during the transaction. Thank you again Ian and Polly -- I will be gushing with gratitude every time I look at my window shades

Nice hardware store with friendly staff and various hardware stuff equipped.

Debbie asked if she could help. I needed a replacement for a circular "sillcock handle" that turns the water off and on to the exterior faucet. She walked straight over to the correct aisle, found what I needed, and even took it out of the package to make sure it fit. It did! Just what I needed, and for $4.00. I first tried Home Depot, no luck, and they referred me to a plumbing store. The plumbing store told me I needed a whole new valve replacement (WTH?). Thanks Debbie! You made my day A LOT better!!!!

Fantastic service. Did not get the ladies name but I came in needing some help making my girlfriend feel safer in her home with her old school lock. Had me taken care of in under 5 minutes and said to come back if any issues.

Long have I both patronized, this store...

In my view, this store is a staple of the community of Des Peres; an institution to new homeowners, gardeners, and contractors. This store and it's wonderful staff have just about everything under the roof; and if they don't have it, I promise you they can order it!

To name a few here's a few things I've ordered from this very store:

- solar panels from Ace (Work great!)
- Special DeWalt/Milwaukee tools that aren't on the floor for display
- Camping Gear
- Sporting Goods Gear (Floor mats/Gloves)
- Special Garden Soil (Mother Earth is Great!)
- Threshing tools (Make sure you use a Poly Handle!)

Talk with one of the staff members about finding what you're looking for! They probably have it, and if not they will set you on the right path in the community to find what you require.

There are proud and hardworking people there like Sarah B, who care deeply and set the helpful tone that Ace promotes. She has a personable approach to assist in your needs, and makes you feel right at home. She runs a tight ship, and one of the best employees at this store. It's the infectious passion and pure will of her work ethic that make you realize: "Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks" its no wonder her staff also cares deeply as well.

In closing, the store looks fantastic (truly the best it's looked in ages), everything is clean and organized, and the staff continues to surprise me with how well the maintain it. If you're looking for a good ole fashioned place to DIY or find an oddball item, check out Rick's Ace in Des Peres!

Every person who works here is so friendly, knowledgeable, & willing to help! A few weeks ago I stopped in to get some ratchet straps while I was moving but had no idea how to use them. I asked for assistance & the employees all made sure the furniture was safely secured in my pick-up truck. They seemed to be a bit pricey but what do you expect for a small hardware store in West County.

Great inventory and very helpful staff. Prices can be a bit higher than big box stores but if you keep an eye on the weekly ads you can end up saving quite a bit. Each store is owned independently so they may not be able to check another store's inventory directly if something is out of stock.

This store definitely lives up to the Ace slogan as "the helpful hardware store." Every time I shop here it is a good experience. The staff are incredibly pleasant, and whenever I ask where something is the staff member either knows it immediately or radios to someone else who has the answer; either way it takes them only seconds. And once you've gone to find what you are looking for a staff member will usually follow up to confirm you found it. They seem to care about their customers want people to have a good experience.

Nice selection of garden plants. Very easy to select the plants and easy checkout as well.

Of it was about the absolute lowest price, go to he big box stores. Prices here are reasonable. But you are supporting a small franchisee. You are talking with and getting service from wonderful people. The experts really are experts. And they support more small businesses with some of the products they buy, unlike BigBoxDepot.

Workers are friendly and eager to help. Found everything I was looking for and also had a bag of free popcorn. Store is cleaned and easy to find what you need, if not, ask a worker, they are easy to find.

I don't understand why other reviewers keep saying they get better service at Home Depot or Menards. HD and Menards have never been helpful for me. the employees at Rick's Ace try their best, but I don't expect them to know everything.

At my last visit the young man who carried the mulch to my car was very pleasant and I was grateful.

I can't wait for the popcorn to return. Free popcorn is something you'll never find at the big box stores.

A great place to shop for all of your home improvement needs. From time to time I need to go to a bigger hardware store for specialty Lumber and items like that but 95% of the time they have what I need at Ace. It's easy to find you don't spend all day wondering around. The people are knowledgeable and helpful. And I found their prices to be very competitive with big box stores

Lots of supplies, just didn't have the key I needed to get copied.

Amazingly they had snow shovels in stock in a snowstorm! Seemed to be due to timely supply truck delivery. In general it is a well stocked neighborhood hardware store.

This Ace Hardware. Beat the one on Clayton and Clarkson.

This store should be an example to all local small businesses of how to earn and retain customers in an economy that is steadily shifting away from retail brick-and-mortar toward online, mail-order commerce. The staff is simply incredible and their knowledge and friendliness is, in my opinion, worth 100 times any savings and "convenience" that could be had by clicking a few buttons on a website in your pajamas.
