Britt's Bakehouse: A Gluten-Free Bakery

Dedicated gluten free bakery. Amazing service - super informative, very accommodating, very nice. You finally feel like a normal person and not the odd allergy ridden person ordering food. Bread - fantastic. Pastries - awesome. Coffee - delicious. Clear information on ingredients for everything, no mystery ingredients. Pristine facility. I can't recommend it enough. Free parking directly across the street.

I am gluten free and was determined to find a good TASTING gluten free cake for our wedding. The cake tasting process at Britt's is phenomenal. You get to pick several cake flavors, icing flavors, and filling flavors. They prepare the package for you in a way that allows you to combine all of the choices in many different ways to get the most out of the process. Everything we tasted was delicious so it was difficult to decide. We ended up going very simple - a spiced cake with cream cheese frosting and filling. Additionally, I sent Britt's an inspiration photo of how I wanted the cake to look and they did exactly what I asked. We put a little cake topper of our dog (custom from Etsy) on the side, and the final product was perfect. Honestly, this cake was AMAZING. It was flavorful and moist and rich. We had one piece leftover from the wedding that we put in a gallon bag for safe keeping. But...we couldn't wait and decided to eat the rest of the cake with spoons out of the gallon bag on our honeymoon. I did sample cakes from a few other bakeries in town - this was hands down the best.

Cookie cake! Gluten and dairy free, but you wouldn’t know it. All of our guests loved it and I will order again even with the 40 min drive to pick it up. My husband loves great American cookie cakes but is severely lactose intolerant, and some guests are celiac. Loved that I could get him a cookie cake without sacrificing flavor or texture. And the fancy sprinkles were a lovely touch. Preorder and pick up were super easy. (Smooshed frosting in the pic was my fault after pick up 🫠)

The shop was absolutely delightful. The store itself had a cozy atmosphere but was still bright, welcoming and inviting.

My friend wanted to get a cake but obviously could not since they need a 3-day window. It's perfectly understandable. Instead, she was able to get 🥕🧁, gooey butter 🧁, 🍪 and a bunch of other wonderful gluten-free items.

This is a great neighborhood bakery specializing in gluten-free products. The cookie cake is amazing and filled with chocolate chips. The taste is great, even for people who consume gluten products. It is worth trying for people who require gluten-free products as well as for everyone else. There is no sacrifice in goodness just because it is gluten-free.

I am celiac and my husband and I ordered a wedding cake from here. It was SO DELICIOUS! Britt’s is 100% gluten free so to not even have to worry about any kind of cross contamination on my big day was amazing. Lots of fun flavors for the cake and icing was the (gluten free!) cherry on top. The cake itself was beautiful and it was so easy to submit my order. They were very accommodating and answered all questions in a timely fashion. I am not sure if the cake tasting box was just a COVID thing, but my husband and I had so much fun trying all those delicious cake and icing flavor combos at home. We ordered ginger molasses cookies for our dessert bar, and those were a huge hit as well! I just placed an order of a dairy free cookie cake for a loved one, which was nothing short of delicious as well. I will certainly be a repeat customer here for any and all future celebrations!

I had to start eating gluten free a year and a half ago for medical reasons related to my thyroid. I have really missed a good chocolate chip cookie, cake, gooey butter and other desserts that are not your typical gluten free desserts. Someone in Festus told me about this little shop and I ventured out today to check it out. I figured only a few things would be gluten free, so I tried to not get too excited. I asked the customer in front of me what I should get for my first time - he said you can’t go wrong with anything in this bakery. It’s all delicious. I thought maybe he was being sweet or in a good mood, but so far I agree with him!!! I learned the whole place is gluten free. I got several things to try and the gluten free cookie and gooey butter were fantastic, both in texture and in taste. The worker was very sweet and the shop seemed very clean. Highly impressed, and will be back🥰

So nice to have a gluten free bakery. My grandson has celiac disease and it is so hard to find things he can eat. He is only 8 and he is now starting to realize how limited his choices are compared to his friends. Definitely will visit this place again.

Britts Bakehouse is the absolute best Gluten Free I have ever eaten.. the Gooey Butter Cake, The Pumkin Bread Pudding cake and the Pumkin Donuts are so full of flavor moist and perfect combination of firm and moist bursting with flavor..
it doesn't crumble to pieces like most gluten free.. if you are Gluten Free Britts Bakehouse is a must...

Ok, so I generally don’t like donuts, brownies, and cupcakes. BUT their cupcakes (esp vanilla DF one), donuts and brownies are the BEST I’ve ever had in my life!! Their cookies were not my favs. But their other desserts make up for it. Very highly recommend this place!!

I have an adult daughter with Celiac Sprue. We love it when our Dr. Abbey (a pediatric dentist in Atlanta, Georgia) comes up to visit us. Britt's saves the holiday each and every time that we pre-order several gluten-free desserts (they sell out in hours during busy times).
DELICIOUS food, very kind and compassionate owner and staff. LOVE YOU.

A must stop when anywhere near St. Louis. Everything is amazing but the pumpkin donuts (not always available as they run out) are ridiculous, so so good. Coffee is good too.

I literally can not go a few days without one of their pumpkin muffins in my life…today tried the pumpkin donut. Yesterday the strawberry tart. OMG!! Super sweet family owned bakery & Amazing gluten free & dairy free options!

I'm so glad I found this bakery! I'm gluten-free and was definitely missing cakes and cookies. Delicious cupcakes, donuts and cookies and great customer service 😊. I'd like to add that I ordered a lemon bridal shower cake my daughter wanted . Everyone loved it!

My wife is allergic to gluten and for her birthday I wanted to find some baked goods. I stumbled upon this place and was glad to give it a chance! From experience, I have tried several gluten-free baked goods, and other similar bakeries, and none can compare to the cupcakes I bought here! They are perfectly fluffy, moist, and delicious. My wife was absolutely blown away by the assortment that they provided. From here on out all of our cakes and any other baked goods will come from Britt's!

The bakery itself is located in a lovely area. The store reminds me of the classic bakeries that I used to go to when I was a kid. One thing that I really appreciate is that the staff was very kind and accommodating. It is quite clear that everyone here enjoys working in this bakery.

I highly recommend this bake house to those who are and are not gluten free. That is simply because their baked goods are just that good! I'm excited to be ordering the next cake and seeing what other creations they will be coming up with in the future!

We love Britt's baked goods, so asking her to make our wedding day cake and some donuts for our guests was an easy decision! Our cake (just for the two of us) was delicious, moist, and the perfect balance of flavors. Also, our GF/DF guests raved about the donuts - they loved having dessert available to them that was safe to eat!
Before the wedding, we had a phone consultation with Britt and she gave us very detailed instructions re: handling of the desserts and patiently answered all our questions. She truly made our cake dreams come to life. We wanted to put a small figurine of our dog on the side of the cake and she even sent us with a small tube of icing to put on the dog's face at the venue when we picked up the cake! She willingly and graciously accommodated every single one of our requests. We can't recommend Britt's enough. We had the best experience!

I live in Seattle, which has a pretty well-developed gluten free scene, and Britt's is still the best gluten free bakery I've ever been to. (My wife just chimed in to say she’s only been to one better in all of the country, Tiffany’s in Palm Springs.)

They've got plenty of variety (little cake bites, lots of flavors, etc). The gooey butter was fantastic, and brought back a lot of childhood memories for me. And the service was warm and helpful.

Now just need to find out if they ship gooey butter…

My husband surprised me with a unicorn birthday cake from this bakery. The cake was absolutely adorable and delicious! I’m an adult and I smiled like a kid when I opened the cake. My family couldn’t even tell it was gluten-free. My husband said the employees were friendly and he enjoyed his experience ordering and picking up the cake as well.

We were there right at closing time with my mom, who has celiac, the day before thanksgiving. When we realized they were closing, we were prepared to turn around and come back the next day, but the gentleman working went in the back and grabbed an apple pie and box of cookies on the house. Not only was this act of kindness so far beyond anything we could have expected, the sweets were AMAZING. Truly some of the best quality and flavor in gluten free baked goods. The texture was perfect, which is the hardest part about gluten free baking, and I could barely tell it was gluten free. If we lived in the state, I promise we would be there everyday. Their kindness and product are phenomenal, and they deserve all the love and support!!

Oh MY! Found this place on my GF app, and stopped in on a road trip. It was the MOST delicious GF baked goods I have ever had. The gooey butter cookies and cake truffles were to die for! My only regret is how it isn’t near my house and I can’t go there every week! Even my gluten-eating family members were wowed by the decadent texture of all the baked goods we tried. Can’t wait for my next overnight in STL!
