This quaint little family cemetery was refurbished by descendants of the Coburns and Doniphans in 2018. The cemetery is located towards the left and back of the house. A large monument was recently added to the front of the cemetery with the names of the deceased buried there. In 2019 the cemetery was given Kentucky Pioneer Cemetery status by the Kentucky Historical Society.

The Coburn Cemetery is beautifully and lovingly maintained by the descendants of Dr. Anderson Doniphan who came to the area in 1792. We never miss a chance to take out-of-town visitors to this little spot so rich in the history of Germantown and neighboring Maysville. The experience is well worth the visit!

City in Kentucky

Augusta is a home rule-class city in Bracken County, Kentucky, in the United States. It is located upon the southern bank of the Ohio River. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 1,096. When Bracken County was organized in 1796, Augusta was the county seat. In 1839, a new county courthouse was built at a more central location in Brooksville. The city was formally incorporated by the state assembly in 1850. source
