I look forward to visiting here every single time I'm in the Cincinnati area. Easily the best Miso Soup I've ever had and the Fried Chicken and Onigiri combo is to die for! Every single baked good I've had here has been a 10/10 and I tell everyone I know to swing by if they're in the area. Cannot recommend enough!

Beautiful café. They have lots of very pretty plants and a very neat environment. The food was delicious. They had the best miso soup I've ever had. The karaage chicken was very tasty. The onigiri was good, too.

Their bakery has a great selection of cake rolls, bread, and buns. They all looked delicious. They had a beautiful fruit tart. I purchased an ube cake roll. I wish I had thought to take a picture of the pastries.

The staff were very friendly and happy to answer any questions.

I hope to visit again while on my business trip!

This bakery is an absolute delight! Their sweet and savory pastries are incredibly delicious, with each bite being a burst of flavor. The shaved ice they offer is a perfect treat on a hot day. Not only is the food amazing, but the service is also top-notch – friendly, efficient, and attentive. A must-visit for anyone who craves mouthwatering baked goods and a refreshing shaved ice experience!

Oishii! Delicious! Came in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed everything about this delightful gem. The onigiri and karaage lunch combo was perfect, light and healthy with a side salad. We also tried two cakes, a strawberry creme and matcha roll. Again, light and subtle flavors always leave you with room for one more bite.

I had been there 4 years prior and remembered loving it. I just came back from a grip to Japan for 2 weeks and had to revisit the place. Just as delicious as I remember. I love their new fish lunch and onigiri. So scrumptious. We enjoyed some of the baked goods, too. Absolutely delicious!

Delicious pastries, breads, cakes, and other desserts. I’ve loved every item I’ve tried from Chako. Highly recommend!

Had a DELICIOUS bowl of curry soup (Fridays only) in their dining room, which was much much more spacious than I was expecting given the size of the front entry area. Very relaxing and different than most other restaurant experiences.
Tip: check out the menu beforehand since there is not huge variety of lunch items.
Tip 2: order your cake rolls before lunch and take them to-go. This will let them get to the proper temp for full enjoyment — I had three and all were good; there were a mix of more traditionally Japanese flavors, plus flavors we are used to having in the U.S. I found them all to be “just sweet enough”.
Everything from the location to staff to food was a win for me.

I had a rice ball lunch here! It was light and healthy, but very delicious.
I took the cake and bread home and they are very delicious and highly recommended. Owner Chako san was kind and I enjoyed talking with her❗

Overall, I loved the place. Chicken karaage was so simple yet so delicious!
They have a big menu for swiss rolls, we tried the Matcha, and the mixed fruit, both were tasty. The spinach and cheese bread was average.

Chako is amazing and truly authentic! We lived in Japan for a few years and I haven’t had anything close to this since moving back to the US in 2017. Kaarage sando was delicious and a generous portion size, shaved ice was just the right amount of sweetness (and not the bottled fake dyed sugar on most US shaved ice!), and customer service was top notch! The raspberry melon pan was my favorite from just one visit. Can’t wait to go back again soon to try more!

The shop is a little tight in the front, but it's definitely worth it.
I mostly go for the pastries and deserts, but I have had lunch there before. It's always good!

Love Chako!!! As an avid baker myself, their baked good are so good. The lunch combos are smart and give a great glimpse of a quick, healthy, but filling lunch. I just wish Chako had more flexible service hours but maybe its good if they don’t since I would go here daily!

This place has the best pastries! The lunch options are all delicious and the atmosphere in the little dining room is so relaxing. When I found this place and had a fruit roll I became a regular for life!

Such a wonderful cafe! Delicious food and pastries -- the lunch sets are to die for! -- and a beautiful tiny cafe. There is a peaceful and nice seating area in the back, super quiet and pleasant. Customer service top notch! What's more, Chako-san (the proprietress) is starting up her cooking classes again in June! So excited to sign up!

Great please with nice and quite environment. Good selection of pastries and cakes. Tried almost everything available and they all taste good. They have bread as well. Sandwich is great,chicken katsu is sooooo juicy and tender. Would definitely come again.

This little cafe is the perfect place for lunch. It’s definitely the kind of place that deserves to have a line out the door at all times. It’s classic coffee shop vibe, easy listening music, art on the wall for sale (which I bought), and good food. I got the pork katsu with miso soup. The bread was freshly baked and amazingly light. The pork was light and crispy, which paired well with fresh lettuce. The soup was savory and light as well. This was a great place because you could see the care in preparation, amazing service, and a great atmosphere. Please give this place a try!

I stopped by to pick up some special treats for my husband and my lunch recently. This cute, little spot was so warm and inviting. The young man assisting me was knowledgeable and kind. He had great recommendations. We loved everything we tried! Especially the simple, yet delicious loaded bread. Can't wait to return.

Chako Bakery Cafe is a great place to grab a quick bite of delicious pastries. There are also savory choices that look delicious (I will try them next time).

My favorites are the matcha rolls and any of the ones with fresh fruit. It has a cozy dining area with tables for two or more. The people working there were very nice. Definitely worth a visit.

Authentic Japanese food and desert. Located at Covington KY, a bit far for me to drive to, but I try to go whenever I can. They have Japanese homestyle lunch, salad, and miso soup. We had Katsu sandwich (Japanese fried pork) combo, and Onigiri & Karaage (Japanese fried chicken) combo, so crispy, delicious and great value. Don't leave there without getting some Japanese cake rolls, cream puffs, or cheesecakes!
