While camping near Columbus, MS, we went into town one day and had lunch at this local favorite. We arrived just before noon, and stepped inside to place our order. Orders are taken at the counter. While they have a printed menu, they do have a chalk board with the daily favorites and specials. Our orders were taken by a friendly young man and we found a nearby booth to await our meal. My wife ordered the daily fried chicken special, four crispy home-style fried pieces of tasty chicken, including two sides - mac-n-cheese and fried okra - along with some homemade cornbread. I had the fried catfish with fried okra and cooked cabbage, served with a homemade roll. Shortly after we were seated, the young man came out to offer an apology. They only had one piece of catfish left, but he let me choose another meat to add to the order. I chose the bbq ribs. All items were brought out piping hot, fresh and delicious. The serving size was quite large. Overall, everything was excellent, including the friendly and helpful service. While there was just one other person in the small restaurant when we arrived, it quickly filled up with locals. Don’t miss this place if you are in the area. Very good, down-home cooking.

My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time. We were greeted warmly and felt right at home. The food was perfectly prepared. The owners are kind and welcoming. We were delighted with everything we ate. Make sure you go on Soul Food Sunday! Great food and desserts. You won’t be disappointed!

The food was absolutely amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious, flavorful, well seasoned, hot and fresh. Will go back whenever I’m in Columbus. The guy was super helpful, patient, and friendly and I can tell the food was made with love. Best bbq I’ve ever tasted. We had ribs, smoked pigtail, potato salad, baked beans, ribeye steak (so juicy and perfectly cooked), mashed potatoes and gravy, and broccoli. Went back the next day for soul food Sunday and had another amazing experience.

Had the rib tips and the pulled pork nachos and they were both excellent! Rib tips were juicy and flavorful. The nachos were tasty too! Will definitely be back the next time I visit Columbus!

AMAZING. Great food, one of the most amazing finds on our trip. Service from JJ exceptional, cannot suggest trying something new ENOUGH! Okra, loaded fries, pulled pork Sandy, burger, and drinks were great… plus I want to try the snoot or tails soon (if you’re adventurous) and mom’s okra patty! Will be back.

We are in town checking out the area for our military son who’s moving here soon. We found Mo Jams on-line and decided to try some Mississippi BBQ. We ordered a full rack of baby back ribs, beans, slaw, greens and he even surprised us with red velvet cake. The ribs were delicious and the beans? Wow. The best I’ve ever had.
So, so good! Don’t miss this gem!

Love this place. Food is FANTASTIC. People are just as good. Great service. The BBQ is best in town. They cook with love and you can tell. Don't forget about souk food Sundays either! My gosh I can't rave about this place enough.

The pulled-pork sandwiches were tasty, but my son raved about the mash-potatoes and gravy and I really enjoyed the seasoned steamed broccoli.

I'll begin by saying, "I've eaten here multiple times." So w/ that being said the food here is most definitely great in taste. I like the flexibility of their menu, in offering different food choices occasionally while still offering their staples. Last but not least the staff here is wonderful & personable that makes you feel welcome. Oh & one more thing, don't be deceived by the store front decor or location, inside has a cozy/scaled-up dining layout. I recommend this place for you, your family...

Best BBQ I have had in a long time! Rib tips are ridiculously good. lemon pepper wings were phenomenal. Great staff. Not uncommon to eat there 2 days in a row if given the chance.

I LOVE the rib tips and buffalo wings. They never disappoint here. I’m not sure what Jeri E. was talking about in the negative review right below mine, or why she only has 6 or so bones of rib tips left on a HOUSE plate/dish that she must have overheated in the microwave, (the tips were so delicious that you got almost finished with them, then decided to hate huh, Jeri?) but I always have a hefty portion (enough to have leftovers) and a flavorful and juicy portion on my tray. I will say this, the people are so cool that if you call and let them know that your food didn’t meet your expectations right when you get your food, they will be super nice about it and get you taken care of… amazing customer service. Who leaves a negative review without calling to see if the order can be fixed? Uncanny, much? I don’t mind waiting when the food is as delicious as MoJams. It’s usually pretty quick service though. Everything is home made and fresh. I never feel bloated after eating, or have any complaints here. I def will be returning & supporting this magnificent, clean small business… again & again. Time after time. Such great people.

Ordered there at least three times. Food is always amazing, the person who takes your order is always nice! Definitely will continue to go there!

Stopped here on my way up to Tennessee, it was the best ribs i’ve ever had. Also, the customer service here really is awesome, had a nice conversation with JayJay. I’m recommending all my friends and family to come up here, this is a great spot. I will be back.

Was in town for work, decided to try out some BBQ. I picked the right place. JJ was shown some of the best customer service I ever received. I tried the rib tips with baked beans and broccoli and pig tail. All was good. Gotta say I will be back when I visit again

One of if the not the best bbq/soul food spot in town! Food was hot and fresh, portions are big enough that I couldn’t eat it all in one sitting. Whoever is running this spot knows what they’re doing
