Saltwater Grill

We are here 2 nights in a row because the food is really good! First night, the service was excellent, our waiter was very attentive and did a great job. Second night, the waitress was disorganized and inattentive. Almost a 5 Star, but it needs to be earned. Overall I still recommend the restaurant, it’s a great spot with excellent food.

Wonderful place for date night, anniversary night or anytime occasion! Food was reasonably priced and delicious! If you go try the specialty drinks and the key lime pie too. Atmosphere was quaint & relaxing.

I enjoyed a wonderful lunch 6/15. We sat on the covered deck overlooking the waterfront. London was our server and suggested drinks and appetizers that were exactly as he described. The manager came by and spoke to us briefly. Service was attentive with just the right amount of check in’s.

Food was phenomenal. We sat up at the bar and had great conversation with the bartender in training, Johna. I got the shrimp and grits over campanelle instead of grits which was perfect. We come here often and always have a great experience with food, management, great views, & more!

We just stopped by for some crab dip, and they're fantastic Gator bites! They have a great atmosphere on the water on ICWW downtown Swansboro and their private dock!

We stored for lunch, and between us had the shrimp tacos, turkey, and brie grilled cheese and the crab dip. W all enjoyed it all. The crab dip was very creamy. I finished every bit. Service was friendly, and fast. We will definitely return. Oh, and can't beat the view!.

They have a good selection of seafood and non-seafood. The location right on the river has a great view. The seats out on the deck have a great view. Our server did a great job and gave us just the correct amount of attention and even offered us drinks to go.

We sat outside and watched the dolphins. Our waitress was very attentive. Our party of 5 (including my grandson) came out to celebrate my daughters birthday.
Blackened mahi mahi, seafood platter, angels on horseback, mahi mahi tacos, children’s chicken fingers with a side of Mac and cheese.
No issue getting gluten free options!! Even the fried calamari could be ordered (and it was) gluten free.

Great dining experience! Tom was fantastic and food was the best seafood we've had in a long time! Highly recommend the Saltwater Grill for a great family seafood experience. Thanks so much to Tom and the whole Saltwater Grill staff!!

This place is the spirit of eating at the beach. Beautiful views of the inlet, local fisherman plodding by in a very small quint village. The food was exceptional for all us, highly recommend the cowboy dish (shrimp and scallops wrap in 🥓). Sweet baby Jesus, let me compose myself. Service was delightful and attentive. We will be returning again, would recommend this for those who love eating ocean food with a view.

My husband and I were recently in Emerald Isle for the first time. We were there to celebrate my birthday and I wanted to go out to dinner in Swansboro. We searched online and we weren't sure where to go, but when we drove there we found a parking spot right by Saltwater Grill and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did because this was one of the best dinners I've ever had at a restaurant. We also had a view of the water which was very nice. I can't have dairy and ordered the Shrimp Scampi (made without butter) and it was incredible! My husband had the shrimp and grits and said it was the best shrimp and grits he's ever had. Our server was very friendly as well. Afterwards we walked on the dock and around Swansboro for a while - it was such a gorgeous evening. We loved this restaurant and this little town and hope to be back soon!

Have never been disappointed here. From simple fried shrimp with tasty sides to Angels on Horseback. Very nice!

2022 Sept Update and still great. The fish and chips were fresh and tasty. The Shrimp tacos were great and plentiful sides to really fill you up.

Outdoor dining view is spectacular.

An old Swansboro grad who loves to support local business and remember my days out on that water while we dine.

Excellent food served with style, great views, abundant selection of wines and drinks. My filet Oscar was perfectly prepared medium rare and was enjoyed with the Asiago risotto and steamed spinach. My date's grilled salmon was also perfectly cooked and prepared. This restaurant was recommended by locals and I see why. Definitely will return for another visit!

We loved everything about this place, from the food to the service to the setting!! Relaxing, delicious dinner, right on the water! The breeze was perfect!! Our server was just attentive enough, and he gave us some great recommendations. My tuna was amazing, so thank you! I would mention him by name, but we cannot remember!! We apologize! But we sat next to his beautiful family celebrating his Dad's birthday 🎂 Thank you for an amazing evening!

Delicious food with a fantastic view of the water 👌 This was our first visit and it was a great experience. We chose to sit on the balcony as our main reason for going was to have dinner on the waterfront. We had our toddler with us and watching the boats on the water kept him entertained while we were waiting for our food to come out. They seemed very family friendly as there were other babies and toddlers there as well. We started off with Alligator Bites, I had the Fried Shrimp dinner, and my husband had their Angels on Horseback which is shrimp and scallop wrapped in bacon. Everything tasted amazing! Our waiter was very kind and attentive. It is pricey, so I'd save this place for special occasions. It is definitely worth it for the great views, delicious food, and generous portion sizes. Thanks for the great evening on the water!

Relaxing atmosphere. Always clean and friendly .Everyone so polite and friendly. The food is awesome. Been there several times. Always happy w service and the food is always cooked to perfection. I'm picky w how my yellow fin tuna is cooked and every time perfect. The risotto is delicious. My husband has had several dishes and again perfectly cooked. Absolutely love this place. Beautiful scenery if u go outside. Overlooking the water. Definitely a place to enjoy, relax and eat amazing food. Thank u chefs and service for a great experience every time. We will be back.

Great place, beutiful view and the service was wonderful. London was our waiter he was great too!! My husband had a po boy sandwhich and I had salmon on a salad. Food was amazing and they had lots of gluten free options.

We just moved to Swansboro and immediately felt welcomed when we walked in the door! Friendly and respectful staff. Great service. Awesome and creative menu. Our waitress Crystal was amazing! Our drinks, appetizers and main courses came out right on time. Restaurant was not too busy, but had a constant flow of new customers coming in. Great view of the water from inside the restaurant. My wife and I look forward to being regulars here as we get settled in.

Sat on the open porch with an amazing view! We've been here before and it gets better every time. So thankful for the GF options as this time, I was able to have the alligator and calamari, which were superb! Angels on horseback is the entree you want! Pure heaven on a dish! Service was great!!

I also ordered a salt water mojito and that was very tasty.!
For the appetizer we ordered the calamari. Just the right amount of crisp perfection, and tender on the inside.
If you haven't had a chance to stop in the old historic part of Swansboro, this is definitely one of the locations you want to come visit.
