This Zoo is actually lager than it leads on. Had a great time with the family, lots of animals of all varieties, my 3 year old even got to pet a turtle, lizard, and snake! The area is well shaded and has an easy path to follow start to finish, I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking to kill an hour or two and see some cool animals. All the people working there were hyper friendly too, the atmosphere they created may have been the most enjoyable part of our visit!

A really nice little zoo. Plenty of animal exhibits to see which were all well-maintained with happy animals in them. Also several species which were rehabilitated. The kids were able to pet rabbits, a turtle, chicken, snake and even a tortoise.
A really great place to take the kids on the cooler days.

Found out the animals here are rescues, surrendered, or unreturnables. We visited on a sunny day, the paths are shaded so it was nice. No concrete on these dirt paths, they are sandy. If you expect the Bronx Zoo you will be disapointed. If you come to help support a worthwhile rescue effort, you will set yourself up to enjoy this park. We came with two boys 8 and 10 who enjoyed this park. I enjoyed our visit. I enjoyed it more knowing we were helping this fine group of people who are actually trying to make this a better world.

I was here on a saturday early July with my daughter(39) I am 59 we had a wonderful mother daughter day.
2 Employees came up to us let us pet some of the animals and told us About the animals and the zoo. They even offered to take pictures of us together, but we took selfies instead!
It a nice walk peaceful quite beautiful!
I recommended it to all my friends!

We LOVE it here.
It's definitely a go to spot when in town. When we visit our grandkids we try to not miss visiting.
It's unlike traditional zoos, with large pens, lots of architecture & "showie" presentations.
Instead it's quaint, quiet, and fun. There's a ton of different animals to interact with, lots of trails to stroll down and the zookeepers are wonderful at sharing some of the animals with the kids.
You can purchase corn at the ticket counter, or bring your own, to feed some of the animals. This always seems to make it more fun for the kids.

Geared towards younger kids. But just an awesome place. Employees are so, so nice and really keep the kids involved. My 5 year old LOVED IT.

This is a hidden gem in the Jacksonville area! It was great for my 7 year old and 2 year old animal lovers! They have several unique animals you wouldn't expect to see here at this rescue zoo. One of the Oo keepers brought out a tortoise, and a few reptiles for the kids to touch and learn about. They even have some goats you can feed! Food is a couple bucks at the check in stand. The only thing that was a little hard is they have so many exhibits so I brought the umbrella stroller in case my youngest got tired with the walking. The pathways are all sand so it's near impossible to push a stroller through the zoo. That's not really anything that I would take off stars for since they are a small business rescue type zoo and they really have made the most of the area they're in, it's just a little difficult if you are a parent of younger children and you want or need to use a stroller. My kids had a fantastic time though and we absolutely will be back!

Pleasantly surprised with this little local gem! It was a great place to take family that was visiting. Variety of animals. Was shocked at the assortment. The workers were all so friendly. They let the kids touch and hold some reptiles and gave some education/background information on them. Took us about an hour to complete. Then we sat at the picnic tables for lunch. Good afternoon family activity.

My wife and I took our 9 yr old daughter to this zoo on a Sunday 1 hr before there closing time and we thought the staff would be annoyed us showing up right before closing, but no the staff was more then overly welcoming. We got to get our own little private animal showing session because we were the only ones left. We had a blast!! this place may be small but they definitely make up for that with there hospitality. Definitely going back again.

Remarkable place! The workers are so insightful! Beautiful trail, such a nice walk. I saw animals I've never beheld before or knew existed. My son had the opportunity to touch a tortoise! We were overjoyed with our visit here! We will be back!

Fun trip. Only 12$ to get in. The man at the ticket booth was extremely friendly. The zoo although a sand path was incredibly clean. The animals looked healthy and seemed happy. One young lady let us pet a snake and a blue tongued skink. She was very knowledgeable and super friendly.

The staff friendly and made sure that animals were highlighted in a one on one meeting. Snake, skink, turtles all relaxed and didn’t mind the attention. This brought our visit in a special way. Thank you so very much. Your dedication shows. Just awesome. The exhibits were clean/ surroundings nice. No overwhelming stench.

Wonderful place! Staff was amazing, grounds were clean, every animal had FRESH food and RUNNING water in most pens. No one was overcrowded, no one was in a space too small. Amazing little zoo.

We decided to visit Jacksonville for the first time, just out of curiosity. We got this extra natural place, since we both love animals it was a good plan to spend the morning. The wonderful surprise we receive is that this place is run by the owner himself, who shows an extreme dedication to the welfare of animals and visitors. I strongly recomend visit this place.
