Riverside Steak & Seafood

My husband and I ate here for our anniversary, it was phenomenal!! I ordered the Lobster Ravioli (a seafood lover’s HEAVEN,) and he ordered the Carpet Bagger. We got the Mississippi Mud Pie for dessert. The sweet potato muffin that is provided with the salad was to die for!! The restaurant was beautiful and nicely decorated. Our server, Brian, was wonderful. He was very polite and took very good care of us.

Me and my wife had a anniversary dinner here at Riverside and had the most amazing experience. We ordered the crab dip, and we were not the biggest fan of it. Neither of us like horseradish, this was not a knock on the restaurant because, I am sure some people love it. The waiter would not let us pay for it. We ordered some scalloped nachos, and let me tell you this was the best appetizer we have ever had. The service was top notch. Our waiter, Mason, was fantastic. Very attentive to our every need. Made some good jokes with us and just was a very pleasant individual. This restaurant is hard to get reservations for, especially with large groups. Treat yourself. Be patient as they are very busy, but everyone is working as hard as they can. 5 star experience. Hope to go again soon!!!! Thanks for making our night special!!!

PS: The muffins are to die for. Do yourself another favor and get a order to go!!!!

My husband and I eat here about once a month. We are local to the area and agree that Riverside has the most consistently excellent food in Swansboro. We enjoyed eating at Riverside last night for our wedding anniversary.

Shared a nice romantic dinner with my husband while on our family vacation. It was just a bit dark but otherwise everything was really good, including our server John.

Our 37th Anniversary and what a delicious treat! Standing proudly, and prominently in the curve of Swansboro, Riverside is a must destination! Brian was one of the very best servers we've had in years and should get a raise. I would have taken a pic of our grouper appetizer but we devoured it too fast. The "Carpet Bagger" is one of the best shrimp-stuffed filets I've ever tasted! Good enough to bathe in but what a waste. The Mahi dish was equally delish! A great way to end a great day! A little pricey but worth every penny!!

First time here. Timmy was an excellent server, friendly and helpful with decision making. Had the lobster ravioli special with shrimp and scallops which was delicious and of course had to have some key lime pie for dessert. Lovely experience, will be back.

This place has been a local favorite for many many years and it remains a great place to eat. It's not the least expensive place in town, but you're going to get a good meal. My wife had the jambalaya special containing andouille sausage, shrimp, oysters, crabmeat, okra, tomatoes, celery ,onions and a little rice. She had to ask for a leftover box. I have sampled Shrimp and grits in many restaurants between VA and FL, and everyone has their own take. This was different from previous places I've ordered. The grits were in a block with about a dozen large Shrimp, strips of pork, onions, and a LOT of mushrooms. The sauce was light and while it was pretty good, it didn't have enough sauce and a few too many mushrooms for what I'm used to. The Salads are small but have a decent selection of ingredients. They also give you some outrageous muffins and they proudly state they are made with lard. Oh well, I'm gonna die happy.

For those that are thinking about having a meal here. Do it. The service is wonderful. Christine was awesome and answered all of our questions. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere warm and inviting. The house specials are just right. Make sure you get the muffins. It was a perfect end to our 12th anniversary. I couldn't have asked for a better evening.

My husband and I do not eat out much anymore. It doesn't seem to be the experience it used to be. Food quality is down and service is usually awful at even the finer restaurants. But we've lived here in Swansboro for 5 years now and still had not tried Riverside. So tonight we decided to give them a try. I have to say we were not disappointed. We didn't have reservations but were seated quickly. Christine was our server and she was wonderful. My husband got the 10oz. ribeye and it was the best steak we've had at a restaurant in a long time. The twice baked potato was delicious. I was told that they had only 2 lasagnas left for the night, so I decided to try that. It was so good. The salads were fresh and the sweet potato muffins were a nice addition. I thought the price was reasonable considering the quality and service. Thank you Riverside for restoring my faith in a good dining out experience. We will definitely be back!!

Went with my mom while we were on vacation because the owner of our hotel recommended it. Everything was amazing. I looked at reviews online ahead and saw everyone loved the scallop nachos, she crab soup, and sweet potato muffins, so we got all of those and a grouper scampi with baby clams. Mom said it was the best meal she's ever had at a restaurant and I can't disagree. Food was amazing and service was great. This type of experience is what we came to North Carolina for.

Next we had salads with the hot bacon dressing: delicious!
Entrees were Mahi Andouille: fantastic! The fried oysters were PERFECT. THE BEST IVE EVER EATEN. Lightly breaded, perfectly moist!
And Grouper Pico: Excellent! Beautiful presentation of a delicately flaked, moist grouper with perfect blackened spices.

We enjoyed the excellent coordination between our server and the cook staff. As we finished a course, the next course came quickly; no overlap with multiple courses on the table.

I enjoyed a Whitestreet Scottish Ale!

We have lived in Charleston for awhile and this restaurant is on par with anything in Charleston!!! We now live in this beautiful area.

Food hot and fresh, place very clean and inviting. Waiter stated he had been doing waitressing for 8 years. Sorry I don’t see it. I have over 20 years of experience in waitressing. This wait reached over our plates, to pick up a plate, we had to stack up the plates on our table. Because plates were not removed . Very poor serves, also we were not in form of a gratuity,

Nice experience, we ordered scallop nachos, she crab soup, mahi-mahi andouille linguine with fried oysters with spinach and sausage sauce. Good service and dining experience. We’ll come back.

Sweet potatoes muffins 😋 best muffins we ever had! Beautiful restaurant a great variety of seafood dishes. Two level, first floor and second floor. We dine upstairs. GO PACK!

Absolutely amazing food and service! It was definitely worth every single penny. I recommend the grouper and lobster ravioli, as they were my favorite. I will be going back again for sure!

Amazing selection of food of all types. Look at the specials for something excellent that's off the beaten path. Service is something else. Generous portions and a large beer menu. Will be going back.

Wait time was reasonable. Our waitress, Erin was awesome. She provided excellent service with a friendly attitude! The food was absolutely delicious.

We made reservations and were seated right away. We had the crab dip and bread, cooked to perfection! I ordered New York strip with scallops and twice baked potato. I ordered rare and the cook even came out to ask how rare and checked on how I liked it afterwards! It was full of flavor and one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. My other half ordered lamb with potatoes and sauce. It was very tasty! Our server was Rick and he was wonderful keeping our drinks full with refills. I ordered appetizer and food at the same time. Sometimes when I do that I worry it will all come out at once, however not here! Everything was spaced perfectly, app then salad, then our main course. The sweet potato muffins were wonderful as well! I have been here only a few times, however I would love to frequent more.

If you're tired of the "tourist trap" kind of places come here. They know how to cook and the prices are worth it. I went with a large party and got a chance to sample a number of their dishes. Every dish was amazing. It's about as fresh and homemade as you can get. My personal recommendations...
1. Get their scallop nachos as an appetizer
2. For the main course go with the lobster stuff ravioli.
3. Dessert - any/all
4. Come hungry!

We sat for an early dinner at the upstairs bar. It was tended by an older gentleman that kept us entertained and our drinks full. He could rattle off every ingredient in every entree we asked about. The food was spectacular and every bite was full of flavor. Don't pass this place up.
