Went here on a romantic getaway for valentines. Really enjoyed the atmosphere! The Malbec Shiraz blend from the semi dry selection was my favorite. They have multiple fire pits for the chilly weather and is also family friendly. Probably the best winery around the Boone/Banner Elk area. Highly recommend!

Visiting from out of town and was expecting more of a vineyard tour than a restaurant experience but was still delightfully surprised. The scenery was breathtaking. The wine and cheese sampler plate was delicious. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves immensely! It is a must do In the area!

This is definitely the more popular vineyard in the area. We came on a Saturday in late October and it was packed. Fortunately they offer shuttle service to the overflow parking area. The line to get our wine was long but it moved fairly quickly. The wine itself was good. It was nothing fancy but it was enjoyable. The setting was beautiful and they have plenty of seating options.

Beautiful place! There was a great selection of wines, snack platters, and flights to choose from. We loved the family friendly environment and that it was pet friendly. Our boys go everywhere with us and it gave us peace of mind that they were allowed in. The live music was amazing and the views of the mountians and river were spectacular. We brought home a bottle of Muscadine wine that is a local specialty and veey good. We will definitely be back!

What a GEM of a place! Come early for seats by the stream/river. Lines will be out of the door, but they move pretty quickly! All drinks were seriously delicious! We came two days in a row and it was 100% worth it.

Family friendly, pet friendly, just... Friendly and welcoming. Ending our morning hike at Grandfather Mountain and wanting something to drink beside coffee and stainless steel water, we were happy to find this family friendly vineyard on our way back into Boone. Reading online before we arrived that it was family friendly, we were happy to know our kid wouldn't be stared at with disgust like other locations. Not only are they family friendly, they have an entire mocktail menu for the kiddos or those who don't or can't drink alcohol. Beyond impressed. The tasting room and seating area sit next to a calm stream that just adds that mountain magic (AT hikers, right?) to the entire place. Offering a few different flights as well as grazing boxes, we spent much of the afternoon sitting and talking, planning our next trips which all included returning to Grandfather Vineyard.

Fall/winter tip: the Big Bolder Red is the perfect cold day wine. I do recognize.

Grandfather Mountain Vineyard and Winery is an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped in, I was enchanted by the breathtaking vineyard views. Their wines are simply divine, offering a symphony of flavors that delighted my palate. The staff's warm hospitality made the experience even more memorable. A must-visit destination for wine enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. I can't wait to return and savor the beauty and flavors once more!

This was one of the highlights of our road trip! The wine and cheese box was delish and gluten free!! The setting was magnificent and relaxing! It’s a must do for couples and girls trip itineraries!

Grandfather Vineyard has a great selection of wine. You can spend an afternoon enjoying wine/mimosa flights by the water and enjoying music on the weekends. I highly recommend joining their wine club! Great place to spend an afternoon.

Great experience at this winery, very good customer service, amazing setup next to the running creek with different seating options. Different combination of flights available from the large variety to try out. Very good wine, we bought 1/2 a case!

Super cute space and music on a Sunday afternoon. If you like dry-ish whites the 2021 Vermentino is great! We also tried the brie/apples/crackers ($14) very good

My wife and I, along with our canine companion, spent a wonderful summer afternoon at Grandfather Vineyard. The wine is solid, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is fun and relaxing. Shout out to the friendly parking attendant who did a great job directing traffic! As other reviewers have mentioned, there are lots of places to sit: by the river, by the hill side vineyards themselves, or by the tasting room building. We had no trouble finding a place to sit in any area earlier in the afternoon, but it was starting to fill up by the time we left. We did not trek the hillside vineyard trail, but it is definitely on the agenda for our next visit.

This is such a cool outing during my recent trip to the area! The air was so relaxed and a great way to spend a couple hours. There is a beautiful creek on the property that kids (and adults) can play in. Pets are welcome and there was live music! This was my 1st vineyard experience and I simply can't wait to visit again! I would recommend at least 3 hours to really be able to take in the ambiance of it all! Almost forgot to mention, the wines were delicious. I decided to purchase 2 bottles and will be back to try more in the future. The staff were absolutely friendly and kind! They helped us choose the wine and the snack (fancy cheese and crackers) it was a great experience!

Great place to spend a few hours after hiking Grandfather Mountain. They offer several flights themed by white vs. red and dry vs. sweet which makes ordering easy and fast. We shared the large charcuterie tray which was a generous amount of good quality meat, cheese and crackers. We were lucky enough to visit during live music which was entertaining but thankfully not too loud for conversation.

Such a great experience! The wine was excellent, there was a food truck out front with yummy food and the seating was spread out so that it was relaxing and didn’t feel crowded. We sat down by the water and it was exactly what we needed. We brought some cheese and crackers in a cooler and got a few flights of wine to try! Left with several bottles for home. Highly recommend!!

Very busy today but it was pretty nice. There was a live band playing. It was nice relaxing while sampling a flight of wine. The sweet flight was pretty tasty, but I'm not a wine tasting professional. I would recommend this place.

We love Grandfather Vineyards. They have great live music every weekend, the setting is gorgeous with a bold stream running through and the walkabke vineyards. They have so much seating including adirondacks, covered patio areas, multiple level seating and tables with umbrellas. The wine is good and the folks that work there are efficient and super friendly and professional. It's definitely our favorite winery in the high country. Get there early for best seating or bring your own chairs. Highly recommend it. Oh and they have a food truck too on weekends.

We love Grandfather Vineyard and Winery. It’s a cool spot for adults and kids since they have a creek running along the property line and the ability to walk up the hill in the vineyard. They have had live music both weekends we have gone. The food truck is great. There are also some food items in the main building. Wine is by the glass or the bottle. They allow you to bring your own food but no alcohol. There is a ton of seating all around but you can also bring your own foldable chairs or blankets to ensure you have a spot. It does great really crowded on the weekends.

LOVE this place; it’s now a go-to for sunny summer and fall days. The live music is great but the stage is far enough removed from the river in the event that you want to listen to the sounds of nature while sipping some wine. The shallow river offer a great spot for the kids to play upstream while mom and dad relax and talk. I also really enjoy their selection of bubbly.
