this place never gets old. Every time I'm in the area I stop there. We make a day of it. we pack a cooler and have a picnic lunch. Then a walk around the pond. The tour of the mansion is educational. The history of Moses and Bertha Cone is fascinating. The grounds are beautiful. Untouched areas are magnificent.

Very interesting place. The free house tour was exceptional. I’m glad that we called in advance to schedule the tour, because there were more people there than they allowed for the tour and some people didn’t get to go on the tour. The view from the house looking down on Bass Lake was beautiful.

If you like historical buildings, this is definitely one to see! It reminded me of Biltmore, just on a much smaller scale! It was nice that you do not have to pay an entrance fee to look around the few open rooms. They do have a documentary playing in one of the rooms that you can watch, but you can also find it online, if you wanted to watch it again or later.

Beautifully maintained National Parks site with extensive hiking trails. The rangers conduct several tours a day. A cancellation stamp spot for the Blue Ridge Parkway if you have a National Parks Passport.

Beautiful views and the manor is stunning in itself. History about the grounds posted. National Park passport stamp location. Beautiful hand made art work. Definitely recommend the stop right off the Blue Ridge Parkway

Such a beautiful home and part of North Carolina history. It is not full of furniture, but taking the tour and hearing the Cone family’s story helps to envision how the house must have looked back in time.

This is a great place to stop on the parkway. We went after 6pm, so the Cone Manor was closed but we were still able to walk up and look around the property. I’ve been inside years ago and it was nice to experience. I believe they do tours of the upstairs of the building - hopefully one day I’ll be back to try that out. There are some nice walking trails all around, as well. We walked under the parkway bridge to say hi to the cows. Parking was a breeze since we visited on a weekday pretty late, but I know it gets very busy on weekends. Despite lots of parking spots, I’ve seen it full multiple times with people parking on the edge of the parkway and entrance to Moses Cone Manor. There are also restrooms here.

Popped in whilst in the area and toured tge first floor of the building as it was open to the public... Very interesting place.
Shops on ground floor with extensive range of local goods and souvenirs on sale. Staff very helpful and informative.

Beautiful stately home with spectacular views and huge grounds to explore. Mansion built in 1901 and floors solid as a rock and wide staircases. Free tours and free videos of the history of the Cone family and business interest. Must see and do. Handcrafted works of art available for purchase from talented artisans in the gift shop. There are steps, slopes, hills and more but worth every effort.

Beautiful manor located close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The manor have seatings that have an amazing view. I came during some presumably renovation work so I don’t have the fullest experience, but it is still amazing! The place have a gift shop and an information center. The manor is located close to Blowing Rock and Boone, a good place to start your Blue Ridge Parkway journey.

Make sure to get your National Park passport stamp at this place.

Amazing sprawling mansion with incredible views. We didn't go inside, but they have a craft center that seems like it would be fun.

An amazing place to visit. Moses Cone National Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a gift to all of us. Great hiking, walking, picnicking or just visiting the Manor House. The carriage trails make for relatively easy and safe hiking. So much beauty here and history.

Gorgeous scenery, and trails. Loved looking out on the lake as well!

Little disappointed that we came during the off-season, but that's 100% on me.

Will have to come back and check out everything this place has to offer!

The manor (also known as Flat Top Manor) is currently being restored and should be finished by November, 2021. It already looks fantastic with its refurbished columns, railings and windows. Inside 2 of the 20 rooms are currently being used by the Southern Highlands Craft Guild which feature handmade crafts by hundreds of regional artists and another room is used by the NPS store. Beautiful grounds surround the mansion.

(The following is taken from the Blue Ridge National Heritage website) Twenty-five miles of carriage trails wind through the fields and forests of the 3,500-acre estate. The trails are available to horse drawn carriages, horseback riding, and hiking.  Moses Cone’s interest in nature and conservation led him to plant extensive white pine forests and hemlock hedges (at the advice of friend and noted conservationist Gifford Pinchot), build several lakes stocked with bass and trout, and plant a 10,000-tree apple orchard.

A must see if you are interested in history or the outdoors.... there's a lot to see and do here!!

Great place to visit for both kids and adults. This place has amazing views of the valley and a lake at the bottom. Lots of walking and hiking trails all over the area. The house is currently being renovated but still a cool place to see with all it's history. There are several gift shops in the house that have everything from shirts to handmade items. Located right off the Blue Ridge Parkway, this is a great place to visit.

If you have a chance to tour the manor house, the guides inside are enthusiastic and interesting - it's a self-guided tour that you can walk through any times so you can do it as quick or slow as you like. It's not furnished but it's great to walk through!

Beautiful! The manor house itself is a fascinating piece of history, and the Highland Craft Guild shop inside is a must see. The grounds are full of easy going trails. If you have time, take the walk up to flat top tower for a full 360° view. The short driving distance from Boone and Rlowing Rock makes it a can't miss stop if you're vacationing in the area.

Miles of trails with no more than a 5% grade and the craft displays and sales in the manor were really cool.
