Nickelodeon Theater

Great indie theatre in Columbia that is clearly run by film lovers for film lovers. Very reasonable concessions and ticket prices. Great 🍿 too. Local Beers on tap. Decent sound and projector and good seats. Love it!

The "Nik" is a unique experience that isn't to be missed. It eschews the big hits for the most part, in favor of offbeat, smaller movies, but does it in a very Columbia way. There's not much better than grabbing a beer or a glass of wine here and then seeing the type of movie that Blockbuster only had one copy of, even when it was a new release. I don't like every movie I see here, but I do know that I'll have a good time when I come. Go ahead and join as a member while your here, you won't regret it.

I'm gonna be 100% honest here, this was my first time watching a film at the Nickelodeon. I've casually stopped by and peeked in while strolling Main Street. Here's the thing, I frequently hit Main Street and wander up/down the street and hit the shops/restaurants/museum/Tapp's but never slowed down to catch a film until yesterday. Instantly, I fell in love with warm, quaint, and welcoming atmosphere of the Nickelodeon. I didn't feel the haste or corporate overhangings of a traditional commercial theater and it felt pretty darn good. The lobby was creatively decorated, staff was beyond personable, and facilities were clean and comfortable. I've kinda gotten used to reclining/heated/cooled seats at the commercial theater but the seating here was quite comfortable without all the fuss. Screen quality and audio were great and I had the most wonderful afternoon spent with a dear friend at the Nickelodeon. I'm finding more and more amazing places in Columbia, some old and some new but all deserve our support!

Very clean. Seats are comfortable and everything was amazing. I will be back. I was here for the 1st time at The South Carolina Underground Film Festival.

First time visit for date night. And I truly enjoyed the experience. This place is a hidden gem. It wasn't crowded at all (4 couples) in our theater. Everyone was spaced out. Clean theater and bathrooms. And previews were cut in half! Thank you Nickelodeon theater, I'll definitely be back. FYI to those that don't know it's a "no cash" establishment.

Workers were all friendly and professional, the theater was very clean and up to date. Great selection at the snack bar and the popcorn was addictive. There was a good deal of variety in flavored seasonings for the popcorn as well. The theater seats were extremely comfortable, screen view was great and the sound was amazing.

I had an amazing time at Nickelodeon Theatre. The ambiance was fantastic, with cozy lighting and a welcoming atmosphere. The screen was large and the picture quality was excellent. The concession stand had a wide variety of snacks, and the popcorn was delicious. I can't wait to visit again soon!

Went to go see The Card Counter. Really interesting place. The popcorn could use some butter lol. But other than that the theater was great and the Speakers are better than most regular theater.

Had an amazing time last night with friends at Columbia's very own Nickelodeon theatre! It is an absolute gem. The staff is great, the atmosphere is both parts modern and nostalgic. We saw Downton Abbey and it was probably one of the best movie experiences I have had in quite some time. I can't wait to go back again.

I love the Nickelodeon theater!! It’s all around a great place to see movies. The only thing that I CANNOT STAND about the theater is the guy that plays electric violin outside of their building. This guy is such a nuisance and his music sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me. Why he plays for hours and hours during the week at the Nick is absolutely beyond me. Otherwise, awesome theater!

I cannot say enough good things about The Nick Theatre. It plays host to many art house movies we’d never get to see otherwise. It also premieres mainstream shows like “Barbie,” and “Oppenheimer.” Home to two screens, the theatre has a large following and many members. Being a member comes with perks like a few free tickets and free popcorn in the afternoons! Run, don’t walk, to see a movie at tThe Nick in downtown Columbia, SC!

I love coming here. The perfect antidote to a hot summer afternoon. The films are wonderfully curated and always interesting. The concessions are delish. Just the perfect little community theatre.

Just saw Monty Python. This place is so kitchy! Reminds me of small theaters in NYC! Homey!

Went to see "The Whale"! It's an absolute great movie! The "Nick" is a great place to see "just released" movies, and you are supporting the arts at its finest. We need to become members and support small businesses that entertain you at their finest. Go there, donate, and support the arts!

Cozy theaters, seats are comfortable but not fancy. Good selection of beers and snacks. Great place to watch good movies.

Great local theatre with an excellent selection of beers & wines to enjoy while watching a movie. They show independent films as well as bigger name films that you'd find in most theatre's. One of the best things about Columbia!
