For the love of God, please don't demolish this building. It has the potential to be so nice if you just put some effort and work into restoring it. Why does it always have to be demolition? If you are willing to fix up the parking garages you can at least fix up ONE WING of the mall. We have enough parks and breweries going up in this city already.

there's very beautiful architecture inside. To anyone reading this, I want you to look at photos of what the interior of the existing mall looks like with it's skylights, the large fountain, and beautiful lights. Then, I want you to look at the renders of the proposed redevelopment. Does that honestly look like a worthy replacement? Because I don't think it does at all. Please, if you agree, let as many people as possible know how you feel.

The Barnes and Noble here is the greatest building left in Columbia. The staff are amazing and you can order books to the store as well as comic book and overall just a regular selection

The store selection is Barns and maybe some Noble. Also if you enjoy abandoned malls take a peak.

This was a one stop visit for my friend that put out a book called 'Black Hollywood book project'! It meant alot to go see my classmate as he celebrated his new celebrity status as he autographed countless copies of his book! A very humbling experience indeed.

Barnes&Noble is my favorite destination in Columbia. I visit every week. Good stock of books. Excellent magazines. Delightful assortment of designer coffees and snacks. Clean store and restroom. Attractive displays especially in children's area. Manager and staff very friendly and helpful.Glad to order books for me. Only negative is loss of comfortable stuffed chairs. I purchase several magazines each week and some books each month. Suggest a massive marketing project. I wish continued success for you. Peace, Charlie Hyman (Grandpa)

I did not get to go through the mall when I arrived at 9am it was still closed. I was excited to find they have a very large Barnes and Noble which was just opening. Inside was a starbucks so I sat had a Latte and croissant very good, excellent service no lines no wait. I read, did some homework well waiting for my interview. I well visit again.

It was huge and full of books! Everyone at the cafe was super nice too! The cookies were huge and delicious! Plus the prices were so much better than books-a-million.

This mall is bizarre! It's ENORMOUS. Basically 3 stories with a massive parking garage. Very dark inside with drained fountains, and broken elevators. The decor is retro. Probably the oldest mall I've been in. Only two major stores and a LensCrafters left standing (probably due to a long term lease agreement). And I thought Columbia Place was dead! I got so excited to roam, but you're limited to such a small part! Over half of the mall is closed from the public! We walked around the perimeter and it was crazy how big this place is. Most of the mall is abandoned. Grafiti, stuff coming down from the ceiling in the loading bays and junk laying around to rot. Owners probably cant do anything with this property. I definitely recommend.

UPDATE:
There is a massive call center in this mall! I had the (unfortunate) opportunity to visit this place. The only way to get there was through a broken door on the second floor entrance of the parking garage. The first floor is closed. It was bizarre! Rain water was leaking through dull florescent lights over rows and rows of people on the phone. And the manager told me that was unusual. Ha!

This place is truly a gem. If you don't like shopping and find the prospect of a barely supervised large building with dim lighting and decrepit facilities to be interesting, go see a movie with some friends and walk around the mall area discussing the apocalyptic scenario that created this wasteland of consumerism. It truly is one of me and my girlfriend's favorite date spots.

So...I went there a few months ago to look around but sadly the actual mall part was completely closed off due to Covid. I'd kill to get inside but I don't want to make the trip unless they re-open the inside again.

I absolutely love shopping here whenever we are in Columbia, SC. The Belk store is everything you could ever dream of in terms of clothing, shoes and housewares at a tremendous discount. It's truly heaven on earth!

The smell of books and coffee is my fave afternoon perfume. I could spend hours just browsing. Journals, toys, calendars, a kiddlywinks section, knowledgeable staff, great lighting, chotzski, and....BOOKS. IRL. sooooo many books. Thanks for fighting the good fight Barnes and Noble. I'll come see you as often as I can. I'd choose you over the electric bill any day.

What was once a vibrant Mall in the 90s and early 2000s is now really just a movie theater and a Belk!! This Belk is amazing y'all since it is the last thing in the lower mall just about the parking is endless. And this Bell has 2 floors of amazing sales it is literally like outlet shopping. And who doesn't like movies the movie theater on the roof is great so yeah that about wraps it up this used to be a big mall with restaurants and a food court and a bunch of stores and now it's basically a Belk and a movie theater to me

The mall is very well kept, has a variety of stores and is an excellent place to spend a few hours, more if you prefer. Also it is a great place to walk leisurely.

Not sure why its called a mall still when there truly is not a mall. No shops are in side only the childrens theater , Belk , a movie theater on the roof, and Barnes and nobles, with a starbucks inside. There are no restaurants inside. Just a quite place to walk around.

Such a cool space and great location. Can’t figure out why big name stores are not chomping at the bit to come to this mall. Very wealthy district surrounding this mall.

Belks is great. But it is a shame the rest of the mall is empty. Use to be a really nice place
