BLD Diner

This is a tasty treasure in Trenholm Plaza. You can see and taste the fresh ingredients. The portions are perfect size. The cheddar whizz is worth the drive, itself. The Hot Chicken is juicy, crispy and has delicious in house made green tomato slaw and dressing. The biscuits are as big as a hamburger bun. The flavors of creamy goat cheese, country ham and pepper jelly on the Country Ham Biscuit are fantastic. Their Reverse Sear French toast is decadent. Our waitress, Laura was friendly and made our experience enjoyable. The decor is colorful and comfortable, retro with a "hip" feel. They have a choice of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches, biscuits and items specifically for Dinner service as well daily specials. Highly Recommend, will be back.

BLD was on my foodie list for some time, and they didn't disappoint!! Plenty of parking, they were practicing Covid social distancing. Tables were set up outside under a few fans. Bathroom were clean. I was really amazed at the set up and the food was amazing. The serving size was fair for the price paid. Customer service was kinda slow, but we had no problems other than that. They were busy the day we visited. Just don't be in a hurry and chill....

I highly recommend you check them out!

I’m only mad that we haven’t discovered this place sooner. Had the berry glazed biscuit special, short rib hash and biscuits and red gravy. Everything was amazing with super friendly staff. Definitely coming back.

I don't say this lightly but they made the best french toast I've ever had. The reverse seared french toast was light crisp on the edge and creamy in the middle. It was drenched in syrup and went well with the orange butter.
The waffle was also delicious. Just remember to ask for the syrup on the side if you don't want it soaking.
The service was good. My coffee was kept filled and very accommodating with a toddler. They have high- chairs.
Decor was delightful and some 50s diner feel.
You can watch the line cooks/chefs inside, kinda like a very fancy Waffle house.
The bathrooms we're clean. No diaper changing stations, however.

I absolutely love this restaurant!!! It’s not your typical “diner.” The inside is well decorated and a comfortable place to dine. The waitress is so nice and crazy smart. No mater what you order she will remember all of it without writing anything down lol. The food is excellent and I recommend it to everyone! I come her as often as I can!.

Original pancake house was busy and we were seated immediately here even though they were pretty busy.
French toast was delicious, I only wish they offered a larger portion.

Not only was the food absolutely delicious, Laura (with our grandson in the photo) was a wonderful host. We truly enjoyed our time and her food at BLD, we’d recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

BLD has got to be one of Columbia's sorta hidden treasures. Service was amazing and the food even more so! The diner atmosphere is also very welcoming and I can't wait to go back.

Absolutely delicious! Prices are good and the food is delicious. The services is wonderful and servers are highly attentive. Menu is limited, but the selection is good. I will certainly be going back!

This was my first meal here. I had the shrimp burger, coated in panko breading and fried. It was served on a bun with fresh lettuce and Tomato slices. Very good. I thought their lunch menu was a bit price, but good quality. Everything is priced separately, salads and other sides are an add-on to the cost of the entree. They have alfresco dining available during nice weather.

Warm and hospitable service. Breakfast burrito was fantastic, would also recommend the waffle w blueberries and strawberries if you’re a fan.

10/10 will likely become a regular.

This diner forgoes the fat and embraces the fresh! All of the best ingredients for the most captivating diner experience in Columbia! I recommend the breakfast burrito if you want to experience a symphony of culinary ecstasy. A masterpiece, indeed!

My first time at BLD and definitely not my last. Food was amazing, I had the short rib hash and eggs. Definitely a hit. Even though they had a full house and were short staffed, the staff were still friendly and attentive and smiled the entire time. Definitely recommend.

Brunch was good but wishing i ordered something more than a waffle breakfast sandwich. My wife would not share her amazing dish :(

Hands down one of the most amazing diners my boyfriend and I have ever been to. I don't even know how to begin to describe how amazing their food was, staff was incredibly kind and attentive, lovely out door seating for couples.
My boyfriend and I aren't from Columbia, but this diner alone warrant a day trip back.

Absolutely love this place! We just moved to the area and wanted to enjoy some good food and good vibes. The owner was nice and welcoming and our server was so sweet, she made sure we had our waters filled promptly. The price is reasonable for the fresh food, will definitely return!

The food was a little slow to come out, but well worth the wait. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. My coffee and water never went empty and I was well taken care of. Shout out to Lauren for the exceptional service.

Absolutely amazing from beginning to end. Great staff! We had face time with the owner and bar manager. They talk to you like they’ve known you forever. Quality of food was out of this world! Best bacon and guac I’ve ever had. Thank you so much- can’t wait to come! Loved the Wheatberry toast!

Been there the past two weeks and it's always been a nice experience. The whole design and menu have both a modern and traditional feel to it. For example, you could get the standard egg, meat, and side or a whacky open faced Nashville Hot Chicken plate.

If you do go for breakfast I recommend getting the grits as a side. They're unreal.

Also the cold brew/Bailey's/Kahlua slushy is delicious.

So, I have not found "my spot" since being in Columbia for 3 years now. The search is over! I had great service and the food was good! Grits a little lumpy but I'm not complaining. Decided to try them out on Father's day, what was I thinking!! But everything was great especially the service!!
