My labor and delivery experience here so far has been the absolute best! Aubree, Dr. Melrose Blackett and his team did their BIG ONE when it came to delivering my baby. I was super nervous about having to get my baby vacuumed out of me but they handled everything so quickly and professionally. If I could rate 10 stars I definitely would!!! I love them and I am so glad I came here!

I delivered my baby girl on May 30th. All of the staff was friendly, introduced themselves, answered any and every question I had thoroughly and made me feel safe and secure with my scheduled c-section. They also were very attentive to my requests when my daughter was born and her blood sugar and oxygen levels were lower than normal and I asked if I could hold her for a second before they took her away to be monitored and they let me have that time with her to see if her levels regulated by skin to skin (it sadly did not, but I appreciated the care and opportunity to do skin to skin). The security levels for the labor and delivery levels were top notch and all the nurses were polite. My husband and I were exhausted as new born parents (of course) and they came in once to do some paperwork but found us all sleeping for the first time since we had delivered and let us sleep. The nurse said it was the sweetest thing and she didn’t want to wake us. I will never forget my experience and appreciate everyone that made my experience enjoyable.

I just delivered a baby boy and my experience was wonderful. All staff were extremely attentive and professional and prompt. Everything was done and taken care of immediately from when I arrived in triage to getting my epidural to delivering to postpartum. In postpartum, there is so much help and the nurses are amazing.

My son (4)?had surgery here had his tonsils and adenoids removed he had to stay the night in the PICU because he has severe sleep apnea and the nurses was amazing to my son and also to me they took great care of him and they also checked on me and made sure I had everything I needed. I’m so happy we changed his ENT doctor and he had his surgery here. I first want to start by saying the staff here at Baptist are phenomenal. They made sure I was comfortable and answered any questions I had. This was my first time having surgery and it was a very scary situation for me because I was having a robotic hysterectomy at (37). They assured me that everything would be alright and put my mind at ease. However, one nurse Laura Williams made my stay and time there the greatest experience ever. Laura went over and beyond taking care of me and my needs. I was having trouble going to the restroom (bladder issue) so I could go home with my family. She utilized every technique she knew, walked with me stayed by my side to try to help me use the bathroom because I was afraid to get the catheter. For 3 hours she remain patient and consistent throughout the whole time and gave my mother updates on what was going on to ease her mind while sitting in the waiting room. I was becoming frustrated and said I’ll just get the catheter because I was exhausted I had been at the hospital since 8am and for 3 hours trying to release my full bladder. But Laura never gave up she said let’s try one more thing and she stayed with me in the restroom, talked to me and gave me words of encouragement. I was on the verge of giving up that’s when it happened I was able to empty out my bladder, finally. Mind you Laura stayed over, her shift had ended but she stayed to make sure I was okay and to help me empty my bladder because I was in pain and frustrated because my bladder so was full but nothing would come out! I just wanted to acknowledge the wonder team you have here that assisted me with my stay and give a big KUDOS to Laura Williams. Hospitals need more staff like yours and Laura who when over and beyond to take care of me and make me feel special and not just a number but yet a human and a patient who was cared for.
From admission on down to everyone I encountered they all cared for me and loved on me making my time there exceptional. Mind you hospitals terrify me and not all have employees show good stewardship to the patients but the team here at Baptist really put my mind at ease. So, I would like to thank the Baptist staff that assisted me on yesterday and Laura Williams for a phenomenal job.

P.S the young lady at the front counter was amazing as well I can not remember her name but she has a beautiful soul, positive energy and a great scene of humor. Please give her my thanks as well. She has braids and wear glasses.

Words can not express how grateful I am for this facility and for the wonderful health care workers that took care of me during my inpatient stay recently. They were so sweet and helpful at least 99% of the time. The Dr's were very attentive and compassionate. A huge shoutout to Dr. Santoso for being "my guardian angel" for the 2nd time and saving my life once again. The food was actually really good for it to be "hospital food" as well. Please don't let the bad reviews stop you from going here and getting the help you need. I am so thankful I was sent here! ❤

My situation was very complicated but the entire staff handled me very well. I was traveling to my permanent duty station and ended up in preterm labor while stopping in Memphis for the night. I ended up stuck in Tennessee for almost a month when I was only supposed to spend the night but my baby was born safe and sound and was released once he was safe to travel. It was a very hard situation so I am so grateful to everyone there! Thank you guys so much for the care and management ❤

I had a positive experience. Only the pediatric nurse rubbed is the wrong way. My newborn had issues with blood sugar levels and was only taking 10ml every feeding. She said she got him to eat 30ml by force feeding him. I asked her why if he was just switched to soy and should we allow time for him to make a BM to get that out.. ..her response was that she wanted to get his sugar up. I understood she had an assignment yet 45 was said to be okay and below 40 meant he will have to be fed from a tube.

Other than that nurse, it was so freakin lovely. I highly want to thank nurse Gloria. When my babies heart rate was jumping and I asked her to get my doctor cause I wasn't to request an ultrasound to see if the cord is around the neck. Idk what Gloria did but I was prepped for my c section in like 4 minutes later. I also want to thank nurse Lanitra, she did not like my babies responses to the milk, as the pediatric nurse said he was rejecting feeding, Lanitra asked of dad or I had a low lactose tolerance level. Dad does, and she came back with soy.

Also the a staff member of the pediatric office I selected, was allowed twice to come see my lil new-nu.

Also, please note that COVID has made Everything Difficult and change. I was a patient the week of St. Patrick's day 2022, I was allowed 2 guest. Yet just 2 or 3 wks earlier and online, only 1 guest/support person was allowed. I guess that however the covid rates and restrictions are for the county, they adjust their visitation guidelines. ...and short staffiy is really effecting hospitals now yet they made it appear as the whole team were superheros.

This hospital has declined a lot since having my own children 18-19 years ago. My daughter came in to deliver her first child in mid August. She went in at 3 cm in active labor and was told to wait in the lobby. After around 2 hours her water broke while in the lobby and she was given a pad and underwear and was told to clean up. W/in the next 30 mins she vomited in the lobby and then was taken to the back to a triage area. W/in an hour she delivered her daughter w/o a epidural, meds for delivery, nor a MD. It was a student. Her md was never called after we asked several timed if Dr. Dorsett was aware that her patient was in labor. The nurses here lack compassion and do not follow protocol. After working in the health field for 17 years I was apalled and saddened. Everything that glitters is not gold.
