Lafayette Cajun Seafood Restaurant

They always have good prices on crawfish and they are pretty darn good. That's how I discovered this place. The owner is always there and very friendly. It has mom and pop vibes too. I definitely think this is a 'hidden jewel' of the city. Hard fried catfish, crawfish with seasoning inside not just sprinkled on top. That's 2 for 2 in my book. Lots of places get that wrong.

Food was good I had the lemon pepper shrimp was great I also had the red beans and rice it had bits of sausage in it but it was sweet so that threw me off. My daughter who's 3 had the chicken alfredo she loved it and it was a huge portion for a kids plate. Service was great the man was super helpful never needed anything. Place was super clean. We were kinda unsure of what kind of restaurant it was it had Spanish music playing so we thought it was a Mexican restaurant oh boy were we wrong food was fanominal.

Food is amazing, and I love their crab cakes. Always worth it going here. Plus the owner is always incredibly friendly and kind. Last time I went I forgot my wallet, and came back and they had everything ready to go for me!

Excellent place to come for some wonderful cajun food. No matter what you get it will be delicious. We got The Langostinos(crawfish), The blackened snapper opelousas, our kid got the chicken tenders and fries and the bread pudding. It was all 'chefs kiss' delicious.

This is one of Houston’s struggling mom & pop restaurants. They have standard Cajun dishes, not just boiled crawfish Or deep fried seafood like the one owned by the Vietnamese. My favorites are Grilled Redfish with Imperial Sauce, Blackened Catfish with Opelousas Sauce. I realized that many restaurants closed the doors since the pandemic and I am going to support the families still trying to make it.

Great no frills Cajun seafood restaurant. I visited while in Texas with my parents and left thoroughly impressed. They told me Pappadeaux is not the same and Lafayette's is now their favorite Cajun restaurant. Dreaming of returning to Texas for more etouffee, gumbo, and boudain!

If you want good / down home Cajun food like your momma use to make - here it is. Their gumbo's are authenic as it comes. When I don't have time to make my own gumbo - it's off to Lafayette Cajun Kitchen.

It's Delicious, first time my husband went in this place.
The waiter is attentive and can take the order quick bring food quick It's worth.

Had lunch and everyone food was good! Service was also great! The lunch menu had a lot to choose from and all reasonably priced. Will be back soon

I’ve been coming here for years and I swear I can’t ever let this place go! I can’t say much about the seafood bc I’m allergic but what I order is the Lafayette Pasta with chicken. Omg the sauce. It is just sooooo good and on point every single time!!!!! This dish also can be made with shrimp. Love love love this place

Food is delicious. I didn’t know that I liked Cajun food until I tried the food here. The red beans and rice were the best I have ever eaten. The fried shrimp and oysters sooo good. I grew up eating beans and rice and fried seafood. Never knew it could be that good?…

10/10. Best seafood I have had in a while! I love this place!!! I wish I could tell the world about it! Great service, friendly staff, amazing food! Only good things to say about here.

Delicious and affordable!

I don't usually give out 5 star ratings for anything or place, but this place deserves it!! My go to place for seafood from now on.

The food was fresh and delicious, and you can’t beat the lunch prices. Oh, I’ll be back!!

The food here is awesome, every bit as good as Papadeaux at about a third the price. This is a family owned and run restaurant. They came from Guatemala and started from scratch, working very long hours and putting their hearts into it. Starting a new business is very hard and I hope many people will enjoy the fruits of their labors. You will be pleased!

Amaaazing crawfish etouffe.
