Real cool place; you walk in and check in is literally inside the bar in the main lobby in full Moxy style. Place was a very affordable option in town just across from university campus. Received $30 on credits good towards the bar or food. Genesis from the Zombil Taco in the lobby was exceptional and went above and beyond to make me feel like the most important customer of the day. Staff was great, young crowd probably from university. GYM was better than I have seen in most bigger Marriott facilities. Highly recommend this place as an affordable and full of flavor spot.

I loved this hotel everything about it was so eccentric. Staff above all else was amazing! Upon check in Ken at the front desk/bar checked me in and it was such a super smooth process. He went over everything and answered all my questions but on top of that he was very charismatic. He definitely fit in with the vibes of the hotel super nice and friendly. I actually liked the room it was cute and had that boho chic mixed with modern look. Had a great nights sleep and I liked how big the tv was. My second day I went to go use my free drink chips and Sydney was our bartender. She was amazing and super nice and funny. I’m a very fruity drink kind of person and she tried to accommodate my request of a blue Hawaiian but didn’t have the coconut rum. She didn’t let that stop her she made a got moxy but added blue caracao and made me an even better drink. Tasted liked a blue jolly rancher with a hint of cherry , super yummy. Although I only stayed 2 nights it was the best two nights because of how the staff really go above and beyond. If you want to find anything fun to do shopping is really close by and if you want a more outdoor scene there is a outdoor mall . if ur looking for fun the hotel has its own bar and another good bar I tried was Zanzibar rooftop bar nearby. If you want to feel nostalgic I recommend the aquarium because u get to go into the enclosure with some of the animals super fun down to earth activity. Thank you so much moxy staff for making my stay amazing shout out again to Ken and Sydney !

My family visited for my UT Ring ceremony and the experience was so incredible thanks to the amazing service from Ashley at Moxy! As the frequent translator for my mother, we were so glad to have someone making my mother comfortable and proving my whole family with the answers to their questions! We truly enjoyed the hospitality and clear communication! My family definitely won’t hesitate on deciding where to stay next time they visit Austin!

I stay at hotels a lot for work and this was by far one of my favorites. The drinks and food are great, the outdoor area is awesome and most importantly the staff is so helpful and kind. From local recommendations, to going out of their way to make my stay great they went above and beyond. Special shout-out to Ken and team. You all are awesome!

Surprisingly quiet spot right across from UT. Very nice and clean rooms. Great bar and taco place right in the lobby. This is a very modern cool place to stay.

Not my cup of tea, but overall deserves a 5 star review. Pros! I travel three weeks a month and this is one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed at! The vibe is awesome, staff are amazing. For me the were only a couple of cons. One was, for a work trip the room was not the best setup, small with no real room or chair to sit and work. Second was no place to store food, or drinks. With that said, awesome hotel! Would be fun place to stay when not traveling for work! I’m

We loved our first stay at the Moxy and would gladly stay again. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel has a fun vibe and ambiance.

Our room was immaculately clean with a great view through a large window. The bed was a tad firmer than we prefer but the bedding and linens were cozy.

Standard rooms will only have a shower. Since my girlfriend prefers relaxing in a bath, the staff kindly gave us an accessible room with a bath since they were below occupancy on this Friday night.

Parking is conveniently located and much of downtown is within walking distance or a quick ride in a rideshare.

Our room came with a steamer we used to freshen up our night attire.

I would have liked an in-room coffeemaker. However, complimentary coffee was available in the lobby.

There are comfy indoor and outdoor lounge areas.

The tacos were also a delicious start to our day.

Wow!!! Never had this much fun at a hotel stay before. Sadly we were only in for one night but it was awesome! Check in is at the bar, you get free drink tokens when you check in. Parking was easy, the room was so cute! The drinks are great and the over all vibe is just so cool and cute!

There is a target demographic for this hotel. The reason it only has 4.1 stars is because a lot of people who reviewed it are here on business trips, and I can see why those people would have preferred a choice hotel or smt basic. Personally, I loved my stay here. The lobby was adorable, and I wish I could spend time in their patio area. The people at the check in desk were always really nice and greeted me when I walked in/out. Even the housekeeping ladies were amazing people. There are also really good food spots walking distance from the hotel. (My personal favs were KBOP and Chef Hong's). There was a large TV in my room as well, with showtime complimentary to the stay. Other people were complaining about the costly parking: we parked at the San Antonio garage instead, a <5min walk from the hotel. If we wanted to drop off luggage and didn't want to walk that long, we temporarily parked at the 7-Eleven. I never type this much on a review but this place really deserves more stars in the amount it currently has. On wednesday mornings, an Episcopal Church nearby has 7:05 morning prayer, which was a great experience too. Overall, I would stay here again. The people are nice, it's really aesthetic, and I wish I had more time to spend at the hotel. Also, random note: their shower heads are great.

The most fun hotel in Austin!!!
From the minute Ashley greeted me and checked me in…she even gave me a welcome cocktail to the really cool and very clean rooms, not to mention Zombie Tacos right in the lobby is open 24-7!

Nice/friendly staff and great atmosphere. Overall a wonderful hotel for the stay.
However,

I want to point out that the lighting system in the room is … great until it is not :/
The lights are controlled by movement sensors, which is pretty nice and convenient. But I believe such sensors cannot be turned off. (Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve tried the switches, and no, the lights still get turned on when someone starts moving in the room).

And that’s another story if your partner uses the bathroom in the midnight. You literally get flashbang’ed in the middle of your sleep. (Yeah the bed is very comfortable)

I’m not deducting any stars because it might be I’m missing something here. And it would be extremely helpful if the property owners/managers could help addressing this.

Oh god, this place was the cutest. First time staying at a Moxy hotel and it won't be my last. Loved the funky decorations and the staff was super friendly, hip, and hospitable. Beautiful courtyard space in the back, there were a lot of people chilling out there for an event while I was there. Plenty of space to relax inside as well. My room was basic but quiet and comfortable. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The rate was reasonable. Thanks for a great stay.

I really enjoy my baecation here! Super cute with amenities on property. Nice gym, patio with games, bar, and the tacos!! The best was the service. Sade, Seda, Sydney, and Kevin were all excellent! Give them a raise!!! Ever person we encountered was friendly and helpful. The rooms are small, but it was all we needed.

Had a great stay at the Moxy hotel. The staff are incredibly nice. I just want to shout-out the man that checked me in. I didn't catch his name (he was of African-descent I believe), but he was so charismatic and welcoming. The whole hotel is UT / Longhorn-themed which was a cool touch.

The room rates are a little on the pricier side though. There's garage parking that they recommend to reserve in advance and it's $45/night. Very expensive, but at least they enclose the garage with a gate during night. Otherwise, there's street parking or the San Antonio Garage nearby.

The rooms were nice and clean and the bed was quite comfortable. Apparently, they say they only do house keeping after the 3rd night, but somehow they did house keeping for my room after my 2nd night which was nice.

My complaint with the room was that the door wasn't fully sound-proof and you could hear noise like people and house keeping vacuuming often through it. The TV was nice and larger, but the interface was so laggy to use. You can connect an HDMI cable to it though (WiFi is plenty fast as well). It also would have been nice if the room came with a mini fridge and microwave since there was definitely space.

There's a bar and taco restaurant in the lobby area of the hotel. You also get a token for a free drink from the bar when you check-in. There's also a little courtyard area where you can socialize.

Location-wise, this hotel is fantastic. It's right across from UT Austin, and in a very safe location (West Campus), even at night, given it's primarily a student neighborhood. Lots of restaurants and food trucks within walking distance as well. There's also the main CapMetro rapid line bus stop right across that takes you to downtown.

We had an amazing experience at The Moxy! I planned a surprise birthday party for my daughter and 14 of her friends (21 yo's). Everyone from the hotel manager to the sales/business managers went out of their way to make her birthday party extra special including decorating her room (their idea and they went all out!) and letting us set up the bar area. They made dinner really easy for her friends to order when they got there and made the overall experience great for me and fun for them. Thank you soooo much for the going the extra mile! It meant a lot to us! Thank you Simone, Seda, and Adria!! You are ALL the BEST!

The hotel room is very cute and the service we received from ken is exceptional. The employee Ken is very patient and accommodating. He is the best employee here and solved our issue quickly. He was very understanding and diligent.

Faith did an amazing job! She decorated our room for a birthday and was so great & thoughtful. Although we weren’t a fan of the handicap room, she was able to switch our rooms very easily and was no hassle. The people upfront greeted us very well and overall was great customer service!

Excellent service and genuinely kind staff. We came in this past weekend 2-27/28 for our 3rd anniversary. We mentioned this to the lady at reception who was very warm and helpful. When I came back that night to claim our free drinks, a different woman remembered that it was our anniversary and allowed to to choose anything for our free drink. Really made us feel special :)

The room was very cute and had all the essentials. No carpet! Smart move. Everything was very clean and well decorated. The blackout curtains were a great addition, and the warm lighting was appreciated. Queen sized bed was about medium firmness and was very homey to sleep on. Walls are somewhat thin, but that wasn't too concerning to us.

One place for improvement is the parking garage. We left and came back to see that there was only one spot in the entire garage open. I am glad that it was available, but it was concerning that there might not have been a spot guaranteed for us after paying $40 (and I am recovering from a recent broken ankle)

Overall, the Moxy is a sweet spot for 20-30 somethings, and maybe some 40 somethings if they enjoy a club/lounge vibe. Definitely nails the millennial budget for $133 a night, with in and out parking. As a gay couple, we felt very safe and honored here and will definitely come back.

The staff were the most friendly people! Always so helpful and gave us lots of tips on what to do in downtown Austin. Only place to stay in Austin in my opinion. Great college vibe , they also had live music and a great bar and outside area!
