Shogun steak house

My children and I love this place. Not only is the hibachi grill side good and entertaining but the dinner side is also delicious. We are all willing to try new stuff but as you can see from the pictures we also love the classics. Oh yeah dont forget to get dessert.

Very nice to have such a fun place with wonderful food in Alton. There is no other restaurant around here like this one. This chefs are great and put on a good show for adults or children and the food is amazing. They go out of their way to make birthdays extra special with doing the Dragon Dance for the person's birthday and have them join to do the dance if they choose to. Very fun place

Food was great. Service was ok. I would have liked a refill on my drink even if I had to pay for it but the experience made up for the lack of service. The Chef was great at entertaining and our food was delicious!

We love Shogun! Always a delicious dinner option. I do wish that this location offered the spicy chicken option that I've had at other Shogun locations, but that's my only gripe.

Fairly diverse menu as you can get sushi-chicken-steak-oysters-lamb-eel-calamari-scallops etc. Also Japanese items special hand rolles sushi-sushi combination plates-sea weed salad-and Saki, several flavors. I had the white peach saki and it was wonderful! Reservations are recommended for the Hitachi bar as seating is fairly limited. Oh and for little ones they have chicken nuggets and fries for the picky eaters.
Staff is super friendly but you must listen closely as their accents are heavy

Is on the pricey side, and for parties over 6 including the kids, they automatically add a 18% gratuity.
We spent $90 for 2 of us. I had 1 glass of saki, we had 2 appetizers and 2 entrées and iced tea/coke.

Servers are always nice. I love the hibachi side, but the dine-in side tastes just as good. I got the general tso's chicken, and it was amazing.

I love the all you can eat sushi in the early afternoon. Always kind staff and clean place.

So good! I got the OMG roll and it was perfect. My husband got the shogun special and he loved it! Best steak he ever got at a hibachi place ever, and we've been to many.

I celebrated my birthday with family. The restaurant was clean, food excellent and staff friendly. I had a great time.

We really enjoyed Shogun, Alton. Great food, my guests had sushi and loved it. The servers were prompt, The Hibachi chef was very good and entertained us. The servings are huge and delicious! I would go there again and again!

I've never eaten here, and have only been here as a delivery driver. All of the people are absolutely wonderful and nice. Any order I pick up is hot and ready or just finishing up, and they are more than generous with napkins and other things. All of the food smells spectacular, and with as many orders as I get from here, I imagine this is a wonderful place to eat. The Hibachi in the back seems to be quite a blast. They also have a cute quacking claw machine which I love more than I can say. I spend a lot of time between deliveries catching those ducks.
To the ladies at the front who help delivery people, you all are very kind and hardworking, I appreciate all the effort you put in to making everything easier not just for the customer, but me as well. I am very grateful and enjoy taking orders from your resturant.

Absolutely awesome place. Love the hibachi setting, and all the food I ordered was nothing short of delicious. It's all reasonably priced as well, with large portions of food. Staff was very kind and entertaining. Cannot recommend this place enough.

It was my first time experiencing a place like this but, have always wanted to. I loved everything about it the meal prepared at the table the show and the food was delicious. If you haven't already had this experience or even if you have try this place out you will not be disappointed.

I've been here quite a bit for dinner and finally decided to go for lunch. The lunch specials are awesome and the service is always great. My family and I have definitely added this place to the list of lunch spots to go to.

I love this place. Used to go to Sushi AI all the time but the lunch special here at Shogun is so much better. The quality of roll is much better with a wide variety of flavours and styles. My personal favourites are the Eel and Avocado roll and the Salmon Skin roll. Both have powerful flavours that go so well with a cub of hot green tea. Can't wait to go back for another wonderful afternoon.

You walk in and are immediately immersed in the culture. Beautiful decor of a time period of Japanese culture. We were immediately seated for the lunch hour. Once inside i began to take pictures of the interior because it was so pretty. Immediately I notice beautiful colored lights around each of the Hibachi stations. The other thing I notice, are a staff of workers cleaning the other Hibachi stations, including where your legs and feet would be. That is true dedication to the clean. It always makes me realize I am eating at the correct restaurant when I see a staff member cleaning. Now the food. Excellent all the way around. Steak, shrimp, and fried rice is what I ordered, and it was cooked up fast, and all the ingredients looked fresh. I also ordered the spicy crab roll. It was good. There were plenty of people seated for lunch, so this place stays fairly busy. Between the Hibachi and the sushi I was stuffed. The waiter was very attentive. The chef "John", was an incredible talent. My co-workers and I will definitely be back to this location. We are looking forward to dinner, when the interior lights will sparkle. The bathroom was clean. Great experience because you can tell the owner takes great pride in his establishment. Try the Yum Yum Sauce!!

Every time we go we get fantastic service. The food is delicious and well worth the money. If you are looking for some good sushi or want to take the family to a hibachi this is the perfect spot. We love the sweet potato sushi, its amazing!

Best birthday dinner ever. Good food. Fairly priced. Dining area is nicely decorated, a separate hibachi room and there is ample of parking. Conveniently located off Homer Adams with a stoplight opposite a Mickey D's. Shogun is the better choice that you won't regret. One of the better restaurants in Alton.

Great experience. Wow it was amazing when the chef came to cook right in front of us. Fire blazing high and he flicked broccoli in my mouth. I had a wonderful time and will go back again and again. Prices r very reasonable and so r the drinks. I recommend saki and sushi if u love them.
