Very large facility in regards to retail for clothing as well as guns.

My wife found what she needed, and it was reasonably priced. The Sales representative was very knowledgeable about the state changes in gun laws.

Unfortunately, due to their no cell phone policy, make sure you have cash or your credit card handy. You cannot make a payment with your cell phone because that violates their policy.

Been shopping here for ammo and accessories for over a year now because this store has one of the largest selections I've seen. This week bought myself Mossberg MVP patrol rifle here for a decent price (below manufacturers). Never had any problems with the staff, everyone is quite polite, one of the guys helped me carry all the gear I bought to my car. Will definitely keep coming back here.

I shopped here many times. The staff is always very helpful. They have an incredible inventory.
Those who give a poor rating are simply children who don’t like to follow rules.

Range only review. Clean and well ventilated...Closely supervised!
Reasonable cost for their range fee, just 13.99 all day...
Targets are $1, no outside targets allowed... All day means you can't leave the premises, but... OK to use restroom or grab a smoke out front then shoot a few more targets. Nice bathrooms, ADA accessible. Lanes may be narrow or tray height may be a bit tall for wheelchairs, walkers or rollaters.
Video surveillance of ranges by rangemasters. (One of target carriages failed so we had to change lanes...)
We were called out because of moving guns between lanes. If you move weapons they must encased or leave the gun and just move the shooter. Nice diner/restaurant nearby (Big Apple a breakfast joint) and plenty of gas stations around...Huge store!

I have to put my 2 cents in here. If you don't know what you are doing with a gun. Get some training. Do Not Expect the guys at the counter just to sell you a gun. They don't care what race, creed or color you are. What they DO HAVE is a lot of liability. And maybe a little lack of patience. There are a lot of people buying a lot of guns, right now. Learn what you are doing, be safe and most of all stop Whining!
The guy behind the counter, is Not your Mommy. This is serious big boy, big girl stuff. Treat it that way. And you will be treated with respect.

I have purchased many guns and gun cleaning products from megasports since they opened over 25 years ago.i never had a greater experience anywhere compared to mega i love this place the biggest inventory in the state and the most polite and highly trained salesman i have ever encountered in my 55 years of being a gun enthusiast. I brought my father my brother and several co-workers to this top notch establishment and they purchased firearms. Great job to the owner of this amazing establishment.

Been to Mega Sports a few times over the years and have been happy with the selection and service. Recently called for specific rail / scope rings and found that they had them in stock (34mm scope rings not common in my area). The rep on the phone(Unfortunately I’ve forgotten his name) was patient, listened, asked questioned and provided options that I was familiar with. He also recommended that I bring my rifle in to verify the rail fitment to avoid issues. I drove the hour to get there on Friday afternoon and found a line to get in (luckily the line was for new gun pick-ups and I was able to skip past). We found the parts I was looking for relatively quickly(wow, I Had forgotten how vast their selection is) and located a tech(Mike Z.) who was happy to go through the dry-fit process for the rail, rings and my scope to ensure the package worked. He spent a good 10-15 minutes with me. He was patient with the process and respected me / my stuff the whole time.

This is great service in my book and reflected my past experiences as well.

The prices for my specific items were better than online by 10$ between the two. So I spent roughly the same money as online retailer but was able to take all of the guess work and waiting for shipment out of the equation (Win/Win).

5 stars all day long, keep up the good work.

I’ve came here about 5 times and I’ve personally had a good experience every single time. I bought a couple different firearms and some ammunition from this place and the staff was pretty helpful each time I was here. I also brought my girlfriend and other friend here and they both had good experiences as well. The selection is huge and the place gets pretty busy so expect to wait a while but it makes sense since they have the best selection of firearms by far! Don’t get discouraged by some of these bad reviews as a lot of these customers feel entitled and feel like the world revolves around them.

After reading some of the reviews on this place I was less than enthusiastic about having to come here as a first time buyer to get the handgun I was looking for. I was pleasantly surprised (and relieved) by how great my experience was. Yes, they're strict. Yes, I had to wait in line to speak with a sales associate to purchase and pick up my gun. Yes, I had to present my FOID 3 times during each of my visits. But not one staff member was rude or impatient or arrogant. Eric had an answer for all of my questions and I never detected even a hint of a bad attitude from him. He was also training a new staff member that day so I was even more impressed with his patience. I returned 1 week later to pick up my gun without incident. The gentleman that helped me that night was also extremely patient and super friendly. And as if all of that wasn't good enough, you seriously can't get a better price on ammo anywhere in the area.

Based on the reviews, I was a little wary stepping into Mega Sports. However, their approachability and responsiveness took me by surprise. The que to see a sales person saved me from having to wonder around trying to get someone’s attention. At the end of the day, a good experience.

Despite all the negative reviews on here, I've never had a negative experience at this gun store. The only issue I ever had was when COVID was in its prime, there was waiting/lines and restrictions but everywhere had those issues.

I've bought several guns from this location, so also have experience here with multiple transactions from guns to ammo to accessories- never an issue with that either.

Yes, this is a giant store, and has lots of employees, but it's also a busy store, so do expect to wait a bit if you're there to shoot or browse/shop, just as you would any other large retail type store.

The employees I've dealt with were all professional, knowledgeable and friendly.

One of the largest inventories of firearms in the area. Chances are, if you're looking for something in particular, you'll find it here. The staff is very knowledgeable and are happy to help with any questions you may have.

I have purchased multiple firearms from Mega Sports and have had nothing but good experiences. They have hands down the largest selection (on hand) I have ever seen, as well as an extremely knowledgeable staff. It's a large store and there staff consists of knowledgeable employees, sometimes everyone is already helping other customers, it's worth the wait. The staff will show you multiple options for whatever you are looking for. It's a one stop shop, pricing is competitive, and selection is second to none.

Firearm buying is a serious business. As new firearm owner I came here regardless of the reviews and I am glad I did. The representative was very knowledgeable about firearms I got a better firearm than I researched because of it. This business takes precautions because not everyone buys guns legally. The owner is doing what he is supposed to. I didn't mind the rules at all. I was there to get what I needed to protect my home and family. Not for smiles.

I first went to Mega Sports on 3/15 with 3 other people, and we all received great service! It was my first time in the store and they made a great first impression! I was able to look at a lot of their MASSIVE selection and get great insight on things. I went back again on 3/22 after having my eye on a particular 9MM. Jason was able to provide me great insight and opinion on the pistols that were in stock. I went back again later that night after getting approval from "The Boss". Nick was able to assist me with the purchase and everything went smooth. Unfortunately, Nick is a Steelers fan, but he was still of great assistance! He also made my wife comfortable with his great explanations on the revolvers she had questions about. Overall, I would recommend this store to all my friends and family due to the great service we all received while there! When it came to the time of me picking up the gun, I decided to wear my Bengals shirt to give Nick a hard time, but unfortunately he wasn't there. I'll definitely be back to use the range.

I went to Mega Sports for the first time today and was impressed. The selection of firearms accessories is outstanding. I came in.just to check out some of the Sig products and bought a some items I was having trouble getting from other retailers online. The staff was friendly and helpful. The store was not overly crowded and had a nice selection of merchandise. I look forward to going back.

I've bought one firearm from them that was competitively priced, and have also used their range a number of times. They treated my wife nicely with some basic range safety instruction as well since she is a new shooter.

I've not had an issue with their behavior or rules since I understand the reasons behind their rules. For no cell phones, it's to reduce the chance of a straw purchase by ensuring there are no photos, conversations, or texts. If you can't enjoy or even handle the break from your phone for an hour, you may have other problems that should be addressed. Showing your FOID card upon entry makes sense to me since you need a valid FOID card to buy a gun, at least until IL decides to allow just the CCL card for that process. Hopefully the CCL just replaces the FOID soon, though. If you don't have a FOID card yet, why are you even shopping for a gun? Come back when you've got your golden ticket, so to speak.

Some other places are certainly more lax and lenient with their store rules, so folks who don't want to adhere to the simple requirements at MegaSports can shop elsewhere.

All the 1 star reviewers here that won't be back because they can't follow some basic rules are probably folks I don't want on the range next to me anyway for safety reasons. It also means there is less of a wait for me at the counter and at the range since they won't be there again. Works for me!

I read some of the negative reviews, so I somewhat knew what to expect. You need a FOID Card to enter. If you're looking to buy Ammunition or Firearms, you'll need a FOID Card anyhow. That is what the store is geared toward. I found their Ammo prices decent considering the current demand. Inventory was surprisingly good as well. I'll make it a point to give myself more time to checkout their Firearms next time I'm up that way. I'll definitely be returning.

Great shop with friendly staff. Range is clean and well ventilated. Whether I'm looking for a new holster, mag pouches, or magazines, they're quick to make sure you're getting what you need and a piece of gear that will work for you. They're happy to give input to help you decide what gear is going to stay securely where you need it, and will let you fit products as needed.

I went in ready to purchase a specific firearm. Given the current social distancing mandates as well as the influx of buyers; Mega Sports staff did a fantastic job of coordinating to ensure the fastest service possible for all customers waiting. The gentleman that sold me the firearm was very knowledgeable and friendly, familiar with the paper work required and assisted me in filling it out.

When I returned to collect my firearm Nick was extremely professional, friendly and took the time to explain to me how to disassemble/reassemble, proper cleaning procedure, safety as well as walked with me and offered his best professional opinion on accessories and ammunition.

I have herd, and read, that a few people have had bad customer service experiences at Mega Sports. This was definitely not the experience I had. It's important to note that a firearms dealer are subjected to stringent federal laws regarding their operation, which some customers may feel is the sales people being "unfriendly". I will absolutely shop here again. Thanks guys!
