This was my first experience with Douglas J, and I am beyond content with the results of my haircut.
I booked with Taylor and she did a wonderful job capturing the look I was going for. The wash was relaxing and the cut was well done.
I asked for an armpit-length cut with blunt ends, long layers, and lots of face framing.
If you aren’t one for chitchat (like me), she’ll happily match your vibe.
Highly recommend booking with Taylor!

Christina Young is a great hair stylist. She has helped me to get the color just right and knows how to cut any type of hair. I definitely recommend Christina if you are looking for a great stylist.

Friendly reception and exemplary consultation from my stylist Anna Doxey. I have been searching for a curly hair specialist for many years. Anna is not only a certified curly hair specialist, she overwhelming proved that her certification was her calling.

Anna D is the best curly stylist in town. The salon is clean and upbeat & I always love my cut. I’ve never been a gal to get a regular haircut until I started coming here last year. Now it’s the only place I trust to take my curls to.

Erica is the best stylist I have ever had, I'm so happy she cuts, styles and perfects my hair! She always does such an amazing job and takes great pride in her work! She does everything to make me feel welcome and well taken care of during my appointments! All of the staff here are super nice, helpful and awesome! They all work hard and make you feel at home! My 5 year old daughter saw Taylor and this was her first time ever at a salon. Taylor was patient with her and and made us feel so comfortable! My daughter decided to cut her own hair a few days prior and Taylor was able to fix it all up AND give her bangs and she did an amazing job! Very happy with her service and everybody there was extremely nice. The environment was clean and I really love how the waiting area is right in back where they cut and style! I went here today to get a haircut with Christina Y. She did such an amazing job with my hair as well as making sure I got what I wanted. She was super helpful and welcoming. I got a trim, some long layers, a face frame and also got my hair thinned out a bit. She was amazing I would definitely recommend her!! She is the best!

Been there twice. Once for a cut then again for a cut and balayage. Emma did my second visit and nailed the cut and balayage. I couldn't be happier with how well she did. 10/10 would recommend. Ask for Emma...she's fantastic.

I absolutely love this salon, and Jose is my person :) I have genuinely never loved my hair so much in my life. The depth of Jose's knowledge and his expertise are impressive. I trust him completely, and pretty much ask him to do whatever he thinks. He is definitely gifted! My Mom booked an appointment with him immediately after seeing my hair. In addition he's an awesome guy, and I look forward to my appointments now when it used to be a burden for me. I promise you will not be disappointed seeing Jose. I'll personally never let anyone else touch my hair again :)

I called this salon to see if I could get in for a very last minute cut and color, they were able to get me in same day with Jenifer. I cannot give her a great enough review. She was INCREDIBLE. She did inform me of her pricing ahead of time, and made sure I was okay with the cost. She is so funny and kind and did an amazing job with my hair! She was completely honest with me about the way the color I wanted would look on me and I am so glad I listened to her advice. My hair turned out amazingly and I tell everyone I can how much I loved her and how they need to go to her now as well!

Today was my first time at Douglas J Salon and Jen is absolutely amazing!! For the first time since I moved back to Michigan, I left a salon so happy and absolutely loving my haircut. She totally listened to me and completely understood what I wanted. If you want the best hair and a rad stylist, definitely go see Jen.

I have been going here for several years, now, and I won't go anywhere else for a cut. Erica is the best stylist I've ever been to by far - she really knows her stuff! I have had pretty mixed experiences with other salons and barber shops, but Erica does an amazing job every single time. I always leave Douglas J feeling 10 times better than when I came in. If you're a guy and you're shopping around for a higher quality cut than you're used to, call and book an appointment with Erica. You will not be disappointed!

Jen cut my hair and styled it. She did a fantastic job! My hair had been trimmed but not really cut into a style since before March of 2020. She listened to what I thought I wanted, gave me her professional opinion and we agreed on a cut. She then got down to business. She took so much time and was so careful with my thin, fine hair. I am extremly happy with the final result!! Thank you Jen!

I'm very happy with the cut and style from Emma and have had a few compliments. I have fine hair, and have had a hard time finding a cut that I like, so I'll definitely be going back!

I had basically worn my hair in a mom bun most of 2020 after completely letting it go style and color wise. I showed up to my appointment with a couple of ideas, wanting to make a big change. Jen totally delivered on what I was looking for and her suggestions made it over the top! She made me feel very comfortable going for something new and I’m so glad I got her for a stylist. I made a last minute decision to cut my hair and they were able to fit me in that day! Jose was my stylist and I LOVE my new hair cut!! It was a big change (cut off about 6 inches) and I couldn’t be happier! He did an amazing job, walked me through some of the styling techniques, and discussed various styling products and hair treatments. I will definitely be a regular customer!!
