Capital City BBQ

I cannot believe that I've been living in lansing for 2 years and haven't ever tried Capital City BBQ. Guy Fieri has visited this place twice! The Owner Linh was honestly the sweetest lady, and the food was DYNAMITE! I ate a Shrimp Egg Roll, Egg Roll, Brisket Banh MI Sandwich, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Mac and Cheese and Greens.

I've driven past this location a dozen times or so but I was never hungry till today. What a fantastic gem! I've been on a Brisket kick the last month or so and up until today, every Brisket I've ordered from a restaurant has been either too smokey or completely over cooked to shoe leather. Capital city BBQ has hands down the best restaurant cooked Brisket I've tried. I like the odd ball items off a menu and ordered the Banh Mi Brisket sandwich and it was amazing. The toppings on the sandwich complimented each other perfectly along with a delicious piece of Brisket. I even thanked the owner, which I rarely do for a great lunch. I'll see y'all soon.

Dude, have you been here? I mean if you like Vietnamese food and good old fashioned BBQ, this might be the place for you. I want to try more of the menu here, I honestly do, but I am certainly stuck on the brisket. The brisket plate and or the brisket banh mi. Both great and I wish they never ended in servings like in Harry Potter. I have also tried this pho, which is good. Vietnamese coffee, I don’t know if they still make it the same way, but I did enjoy that tiny pinch of condensed milk at the end. They also offer different dessert pastries, such as pie or cake, so you can get appetizers, a meal, and dessert. This restaurant is a bit on the small side there is minimal parking so be aware. I come around here for worked once or twice a year and I get it every single time. Maybe it isn’t and a little corny, but I always use to pass this little restaurant and one day 4 years ago I was looking at Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives in Lansing and sure enough Capital City BBQ was on the list. And I am so glad I gave it a go… I’m kind of craving a plate now.

First time eating inside and can I say, I am amazed! This lady has incredible energy and skill. She took orders, in person and calls, prepped food and brought to us so quickly! My pho was the best I've had since having it on the west coast. Large portions too! ❤❤

We were lucky to get a table when we came in because another 8 people flowed in right behind us! First of all, the Brisket Banh Mi is now famous, my wife had that - it was insanely good.

It's one of those difficult-to-chose menus because each sandwich is super original and sounds amazing.

I had the "Forgotten Thanksgiving" which is pulled fresh turkey breast over fresh giant slices of corn bread, and layered with a turkey gravey. I love Thanksgiving and this was EVERYTHING I was hoping for. The cornbread was amazing. The gravey was amazing. There was no critique to be had..

A unique stop in lansing. Originally designed as a cell phone store, later store/restaurant hybrid. Capitol City BBQ has captured the attention and affection of foodies, and for good reason. A great sized menu with delicious options, fused by Vietnamese/Smoked meat influence. Never had anything I didn't like. Fresh and tasty every time.
Definitely in the running for some of the best fries you'll ever have.

Too tired to cook and can't decide want to eat? This place has you covered! I devoured the banh mi sandwich and the 1 pound of rib tips of takeout the moment I got home from work. I love Capital City offers the best of the East and the West: Vietnamese cuisine and American BBQ meals. Waitstaff was so friendly taking my order and told me the chef personally makes all the desserts herself. Can't wait to go back and sample everything!

Overall great experience. House made deserts. The bbq was great. I got the sweet chick sandwich it was great. They have 4 sauces all have great flavor, but the bbq is also great quality and doesn't need sauce. Mac and cheese is cheesy and delicious. Very friendly service. Spoke to a regular and he said the pork is amazing so I am looking forward to trying that. I will be back and would recommend stopping by to check it out.

Our community rallied to help save this place. I had never been until I saw posts on the Lansing Foodies Favebook page alerting us that CCBBQ was hurting. Not sure why we hadn't been yet but it was perfect for us! I prefer the fresh side with the Spring rolls and pho, my husband loves BBQ and fries. Match made in lansing!

Visiting the area and found this Great Place to get BBQ and Vietnamese- two of our faves! Bahn Mi Brisket sandwich was excellent! Lots of cilantro 👍🏼 Pho soup was good size portion for price - very yummy too- Parking was interesting 🤨- but maybe we just didn’t know the drill :) We will definitely come back when in area!

It's a quiet little diner you'd miss if you blink while driving by... but don't miss it because it's absolutely worth every bite! The lady who runs the place is nice as pie and seeing Guy's autograph on the wall put it all together!

I love Capital City BBQ and eat there any chance I get. The bahn mi is my favorite lunch in town. And the ever changing selection of cheesecakes are a great excuse to stop by!

Definitely one of the best Banh Mi sandwiches I've ever had. The baguette was perfect and the brisket was super tender with the right amount of smoke and the fresh veggies balanced the richness of the meat. Plus the owner is so nice.

Definitely worth all the hype and then some. The food was made fresh, came out piping hot and full of tremendous flavors. I had the steer clear which exceedingly juicy and topped it off with the best creme brulee I've ever had! If you haven't been here yet, you need to. You will not be disappointed.

My partner and I have come here quite a few times for lunch. We have never been disappointed. My favorite sandwich is the Big Gobbler. The smoked turkey always has a great flavor and is never dry. Adding bleu cheese, BBQ sauce, red onion, and apple slices makes for an amazing sandwich. I highly recommend the Big Gobbler, or anything on the menu really.

My son and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The pho was superb and my son's Cuban sandwich was yummy. The French fries were off the charts, fresh cut, and the array of various BBQ sauce made ketchup step aside. I can't wait to try the BBQ too. The service was perfect and the owner was there and delightful.

The smell alone is worth the trip. Unbelievably amazing bbq and friendly chef! Highly recommend their PBLT. The fries are perfectly crispy and their pork bbq is the best we've ever had! Very easy to find.

Been here several times and have experienced consistency in quality every time. The brisket banh mi is an amazing sandwich. The fresh homemade desserts are always excellent as well as the staff.

First experience here! Ordered rib tips, Forgotten Thanksgiving, Awesome Mess and Egg Rolls. 12 out of 10 across the board! Took 25 minutes after ordering, food was hot (and very delicious) and service was very friendly! Highly recommend!
