O'Malley's Galley Restaurant & Catering

I absolutely love this place! You know the saying sometimes the best things come in small packages? This embodies that. They have 8 tables plus 6 bar seats. Sign says max occupancy of 48. But don't let that fool you, this place has the best service, food, and atmosphere around! The clam chowder is the best I have had in over a decade (even making it myself at home) with huge chunks of clam meat, potatoes, and creaminess to die for. There is a fresh salad bar and the menu has a little something for everyone (see pictures). The servers are awesome and efficient. If I could I would eat here three times a day just so I could try everything before I leave in 3 weeks!

From the time we walked in until we walked out, we had nothing less than great service and tasty food. I had the smoked Mac n cheese which had ooey gooey cheese, pulled pork and smokey bacon. Fresh made and absolutely delicious!! My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and French onion soup. The pulled pork had a nice smokeyness flavor and was very tender. The French onion soup was fresh and tasted just like homemade which probably is!! Unfortunately we had no room for dessert but the server brought out a tray of all the goodies they had that were all homemade. We will definitely go back to try them all!! We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience to the point we decided to become regulars! Highly recommend!!!

Don't let the outside deter you from trying out this wonderful restaurant. I had read about this place in a post about different hidden gems. Man was that post spot on. I don't usually write a review unless a great time was had by everyone that went with my wife and I. Great food, excellent service, not overpriced. Our server Ashley answered every question instantly and was very informative. Family owned and everything homemade, including the bread. Save room for dessert and try the chocolate peanut butter pie.

Can't believe this was my first visit. Such awesome food. Friendly and great service! Definitely coming back soon!

This place is a hidden gem. Very small capacity and the decor doesn't stand out. But, the food is amazing...been here three times since we recently moved nearby and we've been really happy every time.

Excellent chicken strips! Onion rings were awesome as well. Fries are fresh cut and they have a salad bar that comes with soup.

This place is amazing! Everything is HOMEMADE and you can taste the love and appreciation. The owner, Dennis O’Malley, was the most hospitable host and made my party feel at home.

I highly recommend all of his soups with the cream of mushroom being my favorite.

It is always a joy to go in this place. The owner always comes out and checks on everyone and is very welcoming.. in turn his employees are the same. The service is always fast and correct. The food is absolutely amazing.. great place to eat..

Awesome food and hospitality. New England Clam chowder was one of the best I ever had. Great Sauces. My kids loved the French Onion Soup, Calamari and Southern Oysters. Creme Brulee has a nice flavor and Crunch, Key lime pie was awesome. We will be back frequently.

What an excellent family-owned restaurant. My partner and I stopped in for an early dinner last Sunday. It was our first time there, although I went to high school with the head chef/son of the owner Dennis, so I have know about O'Malley's for many years. What a nice experience. Our server was very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The space space has a cozy, hole-in-the-wall feel, with classic dock-side tchotchkes and Irish regalia as decor. Very charming.

We ordered drinks (they have a full bar) and a half-dozen raw oysters to start. I ordered perch with green beans as a side. She ordered seafood lasagna. My perch was pretty good, however the green beans were honestly the best I've ever had. Bright and fresh, perfectly seasoned, and just the right amount of crunch. Although her lasagna was tasty, with big fat scallops and shrimp, it was a little too rich for her taste. Our entrees were accompanied with delicious, warm, homemade bread.

The special was any entree over $15 gave access to the soup/salad bar, which was maybe the highlight of the meal (we are salad lovers so the salad is often our favorite part of a meal). All the veggies and toppings were incredibly fresh, and the dressings are all made from scratch. I LOVE LOVE LOVE homemade French dressing, so I was in heaven. There were also six kinds of soup. When I asked our server if I could try them all she playfully replied, "you'd better!" We did and they were all tasty, our favorites being cream of mushroom and Manhattan clam chowder.

We left with or bellies happily full, and that warm feeling of just having had a great meal with family.

I saw a sign out near the road advertising “fish & chips”. I love fish and chips but I have given up getting anything other than prepackaged frozen fish blocks and undercooked fries every time I order it these days. If they cared enough to put out a sign, maybe this time it might be different.

It was! The fish was just right and the fries were fresh cut. The tarter sauce was homemade and tasty.

I had the pleasure of speaking to the owner to complement her on the quality of the food. She let me know they make everything in their kitchen. Even the bacon is smoked on site.

I also have a passion for New England Clam Chowder. I have ordered NECC in 100’s of restaurants. This was the best I have had the pleasure to enjoy. Not muddy, not watery, actually has clams in it and hand cut potatoes. Perfect.

So, after passing two of my most critical tests I pulled out the final test in my search for my favorite restaurant, Banana Cream Pie. I told her if they had that, my searching days were over. She not only told me the had BCP, but her mom does all the deserts and they are made fresh every day! I think my heart skipped a beat. She brought me a slice and it too was excellent.

I am hooked for good and have yet to get anything on the menu (working my way through it) that wasn’t delicious and obviously made in their kitchen.

Now for the only downside. They have limited hours so be sure to make sure they are open before you go. Secondly, if fancy decorations and plush surroundings are your thing, this is not for you. This is where you go when your priority is great food. It’s not particularly cheap either but with food quality this high the price is very reasonable. They have a full bar if you want to enjoy an adult beverage with your meal.

If you know the difference between packaged frozen commercially prepared food and the real stuff, you won’t be disappointed.

They have reopened their salad bar and offer an all you eat soup and salad bar for $14. The salad bar items are actually prepared at the restaurant. The dressings are fresh, the cole slaw is fresh, and the soups are fantastic. The New England clam chowder remains one of the best. The mushroom soup is excellent.

There is nothing better than freshly prepared food using fresh ingredients and unique recipes. I’m so tired of being served the same prepackaged foods at many restaurants and nothing they make here will disappoint you.

My favorite restaurant. The Brisket is to die for. All of their sauces and desserts are homemade. They always have great service and great food. Once you try it you’ll keep coming back!

O’Malleys Galley is and always has been outstanding. Had the smoked brisket tonight and it did not disappoint! Dennis and his team always do a great job!

Been here a couple of times now. This place is small but in a good way. The food is great and the staff is friendly. They have a great selection of desserts as well but I keep getting full on the main dish! Portions that I've ordered are generous and they have a few beers on tap. Most with an Irish theme but I've seen at least one craft beer on rotation when I've been. Great stop that is definitely worth a try.

First time tonight. Best salad bar .. I tried every item and it was great. Amazing mini corn muffins (ate 5). Smoked chicken and brisket.. with red potatoes.

Food was great. Service was great. I really enjoy supporting small businesses as opposed to chain restaurants and this place was great. Canadian Chicken Cavatapi and smoked brisket were delicious.

We booked these guys to cater our outdoor party. They were on time, set us up right, and the food... our guests loved the BBQ.

This place makes it's own rubs, and 6 different bbq sauces, which were awesome. This husband and wife duo are genuinely nice people, too. They have a good thing going on here and we were pleased with the service and the food overall. There was plenty to go around and enough to send people home with a late night snack!

My now wife and myself just had our wedding catered by them. We got Alfredo noodles, Italian chicken, potatoes and a green bean medley. It was absolutely delicious.

We had a total of 50 people with several guests having celiac disease. They were accommodating and those guests enjoyed their food just as much as those without. I can't recommend them enough.

Ashley explained the menu choices and all about the restaurant, and was a very attentive waitress. Food was homemade and phenomenal!

Loved the atmosphere, great service and food. The scallops, walleye and fish and chips was excellent. Seasoned and cooked to perfection! Not to mention the regular and sweet potato mash was delicious. We will be back again soon!!
