The Artisan Restaurant taproom

Our family happened upon this restaurant through a Google search of nearby ones that were open. This place was amazing. The food was great. Angel was a wonderful server and very attentive. He even made us their pineapple water that they made there. Very flavorful. There were five in our group, and we all agreed that we would come again. We didn't know it was triva night. We didn't join but made our guesses and enjoyed ourselves. The restroom was very nice and clean. Great decor.

We weren't aware we showed up on Trivia Night but it was super fun to watch. We had amazing food and the service was top notch. Will definitely return!

Wonderful food! I had been putting off trying this place for a LONG time, mainly due to the pricing being a little high. I took a chance and went there for a quick lunch with my son. I got a wrap (It was very well proportioned and huge), my son got grilled cheese and tomato bisque (the bisque was fantastic! Grilled cheese high quality, but still a grilled cheese). I also got their watermelon "water" which I will now be craving. It was nice and fresh and not to sweet at all, real watermelon, so good. All in all, I will be back despite the cost being slightly higher than I would like because the quality...is worth it!

My travels have brought me to the small town of New Era a couple weeks ago. It was the only place in town. When looking online at the menu, it looked short, but I was hungry so I gave it a try. They specialized in grilled cheese and tomato soup. Why not? It was a rainy day.

This place did NOT disappoint. They brought me this huge stuffed grilled cheese sandwich with piles and piles of ham on it. It had cream cheese on it, which was questionable, but was surprisingly delicious! At $14 for a grilled ham and cheese and tomato soup, simply the best I've ever heard..and that's comparing against a grilled cheese served in Switzerland that was claimed as being a world renowned grilled cheese and one of the best in the world. This place beat them out, hands down.

While I most likely won't be back to this little town, I will miss this gem in the middle of the Mid-northern Michigan wilderness. Stop and try it. It may be a couple miles off the highway, but it WILL be worth it!

Soup and sandwich???.... not even folks, !!!!must stop in.!!! First time for us!!!! We are going back, food, service, atmosphere.... these guy's got all you are looking for,. over and beyond what you would think when you read soup and sandwich... we could eat dinner and have great service every night they are open. 5 star all the way... great job The Artisan, end of new faces here.!!!!! Loved it!!!!!

Great little Place to stop for late lunch. Chicken on Salad was a hit, nice and fresh. My Club with fresh Guacamole came with a pickle and bag of chips was hardy and very flavorful! Chips and Chicken with lots of fresh ingredient with homemade Salsa. Fresh Pineapple Water was refreshing and delicious. This is a must stop place when you are in New Era. Owners are friendly and genuinely nice people.

Really great experience here tonight. David, our bartender, was attentive and friendly. The food menu has a lot of different options. David said that they post daily specials to their Facebook page. 10 beers on rotation. Bathroom was clean (really cool sink!). Pac-Man machine for the kids. Comfortable atmosphere. Fair food and drink prices. Loved that its family owned. I'll be back! - Lenny

We were looking for something different for lunch. The Artisan Cafe was an accidental stop. The restaurant is clean and stylish. It wasn't crowded and the staff is small and friendly. I only saw Two people.
We ordered the Cuban Sandwich special-$12.00. It sandwich is on a thick butter toast. I'd call it a Cuban style sandwich. It was delicious and big enough for two.
It was a little on a pricey side but it was a nice experience.

Hidden Gem just a short jog off the Hart-Montague Bike Trail. Pork Burrito and Black Bean Tostada = Excellent.

This place is such a gem! Fresh food in the middle of an area where that's hard to find. Great for vegetarians and meat eaters too. Also, there's a Latin twist so you can get an amazing burrito as well. Aka that fresh juice is amazing as well. Yum!!!

I honestly cannot say enough great things about this eatery! This restaurant not only gives you a fun loving atmosphere for you and your family to eat, it also is complimented by the amazing food it produces!!! If you have not tried their Baja tacos on Tuesdays You Have Not LIVED. They have more beers on tap and wines to drink then I can keep track of...honest, kind, inviting owners and staff. Amazing authentic food! what more can you ask for!

New Era NEEDS a place like this!!!!! Great drink selection (alcohol and otherwise), amazing food menu, and really nice staff. We popped in for a beer and had the pleasure of meeting David (his mom owns the place). Such a great guy! Learned a little about his family's story, some Mexican/Irish history, and enjoyed a cold beer. If you're nearby, SUPPORT THIS PLACE! Bring a few quarters for the Pac-Man machine too. 10/10 - great people, great food, great drinks, relaxed quaint small town vibe. Follow them on Facebook to keep up-to-date on the food specials!

Go out of your way to stop here! The food was great. I don't eat meat or chicken but my husband does and we were able to both enjoy our meals. If we both like a restaurant it has to be good. I didn't get the name of the server but he was very friendly. This place is decorated so nicely inside and out. It really stands out from the rest of the area. Whoever owns The Artisan has really taken care to make a welcoming, beautiful environment with good food. Wish them much success and we will be back.

If you're on the Hart-Montaque trail, this place is almost directly next to it. The cucumber lime water was amazing! We got our food to-go and the turkey wrap I got was very gourmet, but not at all expensive. There was a super yummy cherry vinaigrette on it.

Went for lunch today. Lived near New Era for over a year, and finally made it in. Food is fresh and a good tap list and other bevs. Veggie wrap was huge and delish. Will definitely be back soon. Thx!

I had a BGT added the cup of chili. Both were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend. Great atmosphere very nice service.

Had the pork quesadilla and a lime Jarritos. Delicious dish and wonderful service combine for a superb experience. Got the food quickly, but it was a late lunch and not too busy. Good price and quality, awesome atmosphere.

Should’ve come here sooner!!! Food was amazing, as was the service. Buffalo chicken wrap was delicious, we will be back for sure!!!

They have a very nice variety of drinks and food, and it is all very good! Customer service is also great. This place will not disappoint.
