Joseph Putrello Coffee Barista Bar

Wow, what an experience. As soon as we walked in we got a warm welcome with a little Italian hello. The menu had so many delicious coffee drinks to choose from. The details about every drink were well written on the menu and they also offer a QR code to scan to get a visual reference of the drinks. Jake was so kind and helpful with explaining the pastries they offered and was willing to answer any questions we had. After ordering everything we found a cute little table to sit at. This place is not a traditional coffee shop it is more like a lobby cafe with not a ton of seating so we did have to steal a chair and move the table a little for the four of us to sit together. But there is a nice upper seating area that looked cozy as well (mostly tables for two or three people). We got our pastries served to us first, they were so good we ate mostly everything before the coffee came. The fresh and very large cream puffs had so much delicious, light cream in them I think those were my favorite we got a regular and pistachio one. When the coffees came it was heaven. They make such beautiful, creamy, flavorful coffees we almost didn't want to drink them. But of course drinking them was the best part, you can tell they love what they do and they love coffee! The authentic Italian flavor in everything made for a really decadent experience. If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely be back.

This place is amazing ! I got the “Frulatto Di Caffe”, and when I tell you it was phenomenal, believe me. The costumer service was amazing and the atmosphere was wonderful. If you’re looking to relax while enjoying the most delicious coffee and pastries this is the place to be.

I Recently Tried The "Frulatto Di Cafe" And I Can't Believe I Hadn't Tried It Before. I Was Really Pleased With My Choice, As It Didn't Disappoint. I Also Had A Warm Chocolate Croissant With It, Which Complemented Everything Perfectly. I Will Definitely Be Returning For More.

Wonderful place to start your morning. The staff, music, and atmosphere are so comforting that I sat for hours enjoying the drink/food choices that the staff recommended. Great place to study, socialize, or listen to music and relax.

Joseph Putrello Coffee is hands down the best place for coffee in Utica,NY. The atmosphere is amazing and has a welcoming feeling. customer service is very quick! I definitely recommended the Bicerin.

Great atmosphere, attention to detail, creativity, and authenticity to what they serve. Nice to be able to get some of the classics you can find in Italy. Also, the experience from freshness to presentation of drinks, food, and flatware is on point.

This place gives a really unique and special experience. It really elevates and transforms the coffee shop experience with a high end european twist.

I love how much attention to detail this place offers you in the experience. The design and decor create an atmosphere that fits the sleek euro vibes. The customer staff are very attentive and friendly with uniforms, and they deliver your coffee to your table. The handcrafted coffee beverages are made using premium ingredients and their techniques make the coffee a complete luxury in comparison to your typical coffee shop.

My favorite beverage is the Iced Latte with caramel sauce. Somehow they create a consistent drink every time I order and it has this delicious creamy froth on top from the espresso that is divine. Another bonus is the whipped cream- which I believe is homemade! Like I said every. detail.

Worth the cost and worth the spot. We drive from Syracuse just for this place! & Don’t forget the pastries which are also a great treat.

The best coffee shop I’ve been to in upstate NY (or all of NY). The beautiful 50s modern building and the traditional Viennese style coffee presentation is a special find. The homemade bamblioni doughnuts are great too Incredible!

I love this coffee bar! Beautiful and delicious drinks, one of a kind in this area! Inside a beautiful and historic building with a little loft area to sit and sip your beverage. Every drink is made so well, you'll need to try them all! Pastries are fresh and delicious each day.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I’ve tried every coffee shop around— no question about it, Joseph Putrello’s is the best. Not only is the service + atmosphere perfect, but so is the quality of what they are serving. I’ve not had one bad thing on the menu; you have to try everything! The main reason this place is so amazing is because you can TRULY taste the quality of fresh ingredients, and the drinks are consistent! You don’t need to hope that your order will taste the way you it’s supposed to, because it will, which is so important + rare nowadays! Overall, just a luxurious place. Always a delight coming here!

I don’t think I have ever written a review on anything in my entire life, but for this place was so good I had to. My first time in Utica, I was just looking for a decent coffee to kill some time….we ended up having the best coffee experience of our life. Price was the same as my everyday Starbucks order, but the taste, quality, and service was impeccable. Perfectly executed by staff who were so friendly and attentive, I am so sad I live two hours away from this place because now no other coffee will ever compare to Joseph Putrellos and I will never be satisfied with my Starbucks again😅 A must try for anyone passing through the area!!

Similar prices to any other coffee place including Dunkin-but when it came to taste and presentation there’s absolutely no comparison. This was a pistachio velvet, the flavor was amazing and it looks incredible. My husband-who is extremely finicky with his coffee was quite pleased as well. The atmosphere is laid back, clean and the boost that Utica needs.

My friend and I were greeted by the staff when we came in , which was very welcoming. The atmosphere is very pleasant and cafe like. We ate on the second level of the coffee barista. We ordered hot chocolate milk. Pistachio cannoli and Almond pastry. Delicious!

I’m all about cappuccino’s and critical to taste and aftertaste. This one’s my favorite.
The baked goods are also worth trying.
If there’s a better way of doing something, they’re gonna do it.

Absolutely stunning coffee bar. The ambiance hits so nicely. Clean, bright, white, with the perfect aesthetic of plants and marble accents. Now about th espresso! Some of the best I've ever had! The double cappuccino was everything I've always been looking for in terms of espresso to foamed milk ratio! The baristas we're very friendly and the menu of specialty coffees and their presentation is perfect for any and all coffee afficianado.

Wonderful place with authentic Italian coffee and masterpiece coffee creations. The staff are very knowledgeable and make great recommendations every time I am there. Grazie!

Finally visited the famous Joseph Putrello’s coffee when I was back up visiting my hometown. Wonderfully crafted drinks and the almond vanilla biscotti was huge and delicious! The barista was super friendly. I was very impressed - so happy to see these new establishments in Utica. I will be back next time I’m in town - I mean, look at these coffees 😊 ☕

Awesome Vibes, nice clean modern feel. We tried a Carmellocino and an Affagato for drinks. We had a pistachio cannoli to share. Room temperature water is served with food. Everything was amazing. Seats were comfy. View is great. Price’s were reasonable. A must try. Great addition to downtown.
