Once you enter the Silvernail Inn, you will be pleasantly surprised. It has several big screens within the bar area that are easy to see from nearly every angle. The music is hip and not the newest garbage but a throwback to the golden age of which we can all appreciate. The menu may confuse you like it did to me, but I assure you that the 26 dollar Swordfish is probably one of the best I have ever had. I never eat all of my soup, but I did today! The fresh made full loaf of bread is to die for. Elaine was a helpful and super pleasant barkeep. Eat here and you WILL BE SATISFIED. I am not easily impressed…today I have been…positively so!

I was totally impressed by the Silvernail Inn. What a great and wonderful experience. Very friendly staff and our steak and prime Rib was outstanding. I did have somewhat of a hesitation, but I'm glad I stopped in

What a hidden GEM!! The exterior needs some refreshing, but don’t let it stop you from stopping in! The food is absolutely INCREDIBLE! Living in the Loop in Chicago now, I miss home and a good ‘ole Wisconsin salad bar and Prime Rib. We often frequent Wisconsin Supper Clubs (my goal is to visit them all!), but why isn’t this little hidden gem on the list? It should be! The filet with grilled shrimp was delectable and my Prime Rib was one of the best I’ve ever had. The salad bar was just like I remember as a kid and the fresh bread is to die for! I was even able to get a gluten free French Onion Soup!! Our server, Kerri was knowledgeable of the menu and made recommendations for dietary restrictions. Overall, we had an incredible meal and experience and will be back again. (Not something we often do with the quest of over 250 Supper Clubs to visit!)

The Food and Service were fabulous. The restaurant itself is outdated but it made me feel like I was back in 1970’s- I like that! My family and I had a great meal with lots of conversation and laughter. The waitress keep calling me “Kiddo”, which is cute because I am much older than her. Thank you Silvernail Inn. We will be back.

The food was so delicious. The staff was very polite and helpful. Those garlic mashed potatoes are too addicting! Even though I was stuffed from the prime rib and buttery bread, I had to eat every last bite of the potatoes as to make sure not a single bite went to waste! Definitely want to try some other items off the menu!

My wife and I along with another couple went here for the first time. I had the Prime rib, my wife enjoyed the Mahi Mahi, our friends had the filet with shrimp and the Walleye. The food was delicious, all entrees included homemade soup, a salad bar and delicious warm bread. Service was very good and the only reason I gave a four star on the atmosphere was because the location could use a bit of updating which I am sure will happen as word spreads about the delicious food.

Growing up in Wisconsin, I was accustomed to a Friday fish fry every week. When I moved away, I realized just how much I miss them.
I discovered this restaurant had a fish fry so I had to try it out. Ms. Elaine was the bartender/ server and she was not lying when she said it was a big platter of food.
She started me out with a mini loaf of bread and then a cup of clam chowder as well, both of which were piping hot and tasty.
The platter of food was next. It had my potato pancakes, applesauce, cole slaw, and fried fish. The pancakes could have been a little crisper, but they were good. The fish was lightly battered and delicious!
If I am ever in the area again and needing my fish fry fix, I will definitely be back!

Deep fried cod was excellent. Walleye was raw and could not be eaten. My wife could no longer eat anything due to the raw fish which ruined her appetite. They took the Walleye off the bill but offered nothing else.

Had Mother's day brunch here. The first time I've been in the restaurant. The atmosphere was pleasant. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Staff always make the difference between a good experience and a bad experience. They were wonderful.
The food was very good and plentiful.
There was an awesome salad bar too.
The hot food were eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, turkey and gravy, chicken, ribs and prime rib. Fresh fruit and delicious desserts. I'm sure I've missed foods but there was something for everyone. It was a great experience and made the day special.

*** As of tonight, Canyon City is closed for renovations until fall.

We stopped at Canyon City tonight as we drove along I-94. Despite a sign on the window indicating they were closed for renovations, they looked like they were open, so we went in. They told is that technically last night was their last night before the renovation, but since they had a large group there, that they could still seat us and serve us, but that they were out of some things, and service could be slow. Despite all the warnings, we decided to give them a try and we were really glad that we did. I had a wood grilled sirloin steak, and it was by far, the best sirloin I've ever had. This sirloin had to have been prime, because it had more marbling than most sirloins and was almost as tender as prime rib. My wife had a BLT which was served on Texas toast and was also very good. We both had the homemade chicken dumpling soup which was also excellent and chock full of chicken, dumplings, and vegetables. My daughter had a wood-grilled chicken salad which she also enjoyed. This is a restaurant that we would definitely return to again.

The place looked really well maintained, so I asked what they were renovating, but the waiter wasn't sure. He indicated that the restaurant had been there for some time and the owner's felt it needed an update. He also said that the plan was to reopen in October.

Food, service and cleanliness was awesome. Our last visit 7 years ago was terrible, different name at that time.

The Real Deal of Supper Clubs! Outside a little shabby, don't let that distract you. Excellent steaks, service and a salad bar. We had creme brulee and an after dinner coffee. Loved the prime rib and the filet. Cannot beat the price and service! Thanks Elaine your fantastic!

Came here for the first time and had great service. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The beef tenderloin stroganoff was outstanding and perfectly seasoned, with large chunks of tenderloin, 4 people in my party loved it. Two others had fish and we're equally pleased with their choices. The fresh baked bread was remarkable and honestly the best bread I can recall having in any restaurant. This place is definitely worth the trip if you are anywhere in the area. The prices are also reasonable for the quality and portions served.

Wonderful staff & great atmosphere! It has a very "homey" appeal. The food is delicious, steaks cooked to perfection, and their made-to-order baked cod is totally worth the wait. We are so happy we found this gem!

The food is fantastic, lots of choices with wonder hostesses and good service with friendly waitresses. Also more food than you can eat in a single sitting, seemed like everyone was leaving with a take out box! Well worth the price and a must try for anyone looking for a good meal. I was there on a friday so i got to try their friday fish and it was delicious!
