Raul's Empanadas Town

Raul’s is such a staple in Morristown, my husband and I haven’t been here since before the pandemic, but I remember looking forward to Raul’s after a night out on the town and we used to order delivery to the hospital when I used to work there. We heard either management or cooking style has changed since then and we had been skeptic to go back, but we ordered some to take home tonight when we were back in town meeting up with friends. I’m so glad we did! The empanadas smelled so good and the scent of the fried dough was so tempting I had to eat one in the car! It was so fresh and warm and crispy, and the chipotle sauce went so well with it. I must not remember what it used to be like, but I must say this was pretty good! We will definitely be back to order empanadas to go when we are back in town!!!

This place made my day. Just, such weird decor and the empanadas are great. I know everyone's complaining about the lack of corn dough? But I haven't been here before so I don't care. They're good. Just come here and sit on the hot dog bench and live your best life

I got the combo #1 which is 3 rocks and a soda. I tried Inca Kola for the first time ever too. So delicious! Highly recommend :)

RAUL'S IS THE BEST!!!!!!!

I had not been here for a hot minute because a.) the pandemic and b). I don't live near here. But I stopped in here and got my GLUTEN FREE Colombian empanadas, the "rock" (beef and cheese, old favorite) and shrimp (new favorite) and everything was *chef's kiss!* Also, yuca frita was amazing :-).

Ordered online for a late night pick up 10/10. Empanada were made fresh, large size, packed with goodness. Raul’s had vegetarian options that were delicious - beans and rice/ mix veggies/ cheese and broccoli.
Second heaven (chicken and shrimp) is named for a reason. It’s Devine twist on a crab Rangoon - carrots, onions, sourcream. Also beef, rice,beans (Jornalero).
Sweet plantains were not sweet like candy but rather a great side.

10/10 recommended! Affordable for the size given, have left overs for the next day.

Excellent empanadas. I reccomend "The Miz" its delicious. Friendly service and fun decor. Good place for a quick munch. Or to bring kids.

The best empanadas. ...it's definitely a take to-go place because there aren't any chairs. ...open late hours. .make sure you try the guava empanada for dessert. Yummmmm

Quintessential late night post-bar spot. This is a no-frills type take-out joint with classic and tasty small bites. The food is made to order, surprisingly fresh, and there is always a good variety. Get here before the line builds.

Great place. Im a regular customer for many years. Everything I have ever ordered was top notch. Tasty, hot and fresh. Reasonably priced. Parking is hit or miss on the street, but the municipal parking lot is in the rear.

Just found this hidden gem over the weekend, and I'm obsessed with it , had to go back again today. Carlos is super friendly, and his suggestions are on point when you tell him what your looking to satisfy that empinada "fix". We had the chicken (daughter loved) beef (son loved) and i enjoyed the cheese steak empinada, super moist. Portions are huge, prices are crazy affordable, and everything tastes fresh. Definitely my new go to joint. Keep up the great work !!

I've always loved eating here. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the location is convenient. I'm a huge fan of the homemade sauces, and the Jornalero Mason empanadas! I only need 3 to have a meal, but I always find myself buying 4....so good....

Amazing empanadas. I usually don't like anything but flour (they have in chicken and cheese) because other places have disappointed. So happy I tried their spinach and their cuban today. Light and airy, not greasy and so tasty. The guava and cheese dessert empanada is unbelievable as well. Yum!!

I go to Morristown convention center three or four times a year and whenever I do I hit Raul’s. The prices are fantastic, each empanada being around $3, and they are well worth the price. They are well stuffed, and come in either dough (which I like) or cornmeal (which I avoid whenever possible) pockets. They do not skimp on the fillings, of which my favorites are the Hawaiian (pineapple, ham and cheese) and Cuban (ham, cheese and pork), and for dessert their Guava and Cheese. My wife is fond of their curry empanada. They also have specials that change weekly, though some like the Chicken and Cheese (which has a bit of spiciness to it unlike their beef and cheese or their regular chicken) and Goat Cheese and Cranberries (a wonderful dessert empanada) come back regularly.

They also have three sauces, though, to be completely honest, I only really pay attention to the creamy chipotle sauce. It goes perfectly with almost all of their non-dessert empanadas. They also have breakfast empanadas. Other non-empanada standouts are the Salchipapa (fries with cut up hot dogs with I believe a mix of ketchup and mayo), Chicharron (crispy fried pork) and kebab (I like the sausage kebab). Fountain drinks aren’t behind the counter so serve yourself with free refills.

All that said Raul’s does have a few things you need to know about: they cook everything when ordered, so if you’re in a rush it may be a while. Second, they occasionally run out of things, especially if there is a convention in town. Third, they are not open on Sundays. Finally, they do stay open late, but they have a narrower late night menu after 10pm.

I highly recommend Raul’s, if you’re in Morristown you should try it.

Wow! I just had the most amazing service from Raul’s. I ordered from them using Uber Eats only ti then have the delivery driver cancel my order. Raul’s had my order ready to go... but driver just didn’t pick up the food. I had no way of contacting Uber... I went through Uber support on the app, tweeted Uber and nothing.

Raul’s went out of their way to contact Uber to see if they could reschedule/complete the order for me.

Raul’s then called me afterwards to verify that everything worked out. They were amazing!!! Such nice people. I’m so so so impressed

I will make sure to order again... but I will pick up on my own next time!

I don’t understand why the poor reviews- I just ordered here for the first time and had the broccoli/cheese & shrimp empanadas- they were fantastic!! Also got the chocolate hazelnut one and it was amazing. I can’t wait to order more!!!

Best empanadas anywhere with the most comprehensive variety. Moved out of Morristown 2 years ago but still go there whenever I can because no one makes empanadas like Raul. And customers are treated nicely.

Im really not sure why so many of these reviews are so negative, this is the 2nd time ive been to rauls and im always impressed theyre friendly, efficient and the food is delicious. I have had empanadas in the past from different restaurants and from a few of my friends and Raul's are definitely top on my list and their hot sauce for the empanadas is rockin! 5 stars from me!

Delicious, I'm in town visiting relatives, I wish Raul's was in Pittsburgh. I'll definitely get more next time I'm in town.

Awesome empanadas and great sauces. Don’t miss The Rock with the creamy sauce. Quick service and great prices. A delicious meal. Just try to remember they are closed on Sunday. I’ve made that mistake more than once.
