Absolutely love this place. My go to sushi place that also has other excellent Japanese food. If you like the smaller, intimate, hole-in-the-wall type restaurants, you will love it here. Ever person I treat to a lunch or dinner here is impressed. Should also mention the staff is amazingly nice and sweet.

Very special place… sushi is absolutely delicious—so many unique options and incredibly fresh. The woman running it is super kind and accommodating, very nice cozy vibe. The food is very authentic and beautifully prepared. I also enjoyed the delicious homemade blended jasmine rose herbal hot tea. Looking forward to coming back!

A wonderful family owned business that also treats you like family. My husband and I firmly believe that this the best sushi restaurant in the area (and that we’ve ever had).

The restaurant is always incredibly well kept and the service is excellent. The fish is very fresh and generously portioned. I honestly cannot say enough good things. We absolutely love it and recommend to anyone who enjoys sushi and/or Japanese cuisine. I recommend making a reservation to ensure a table, as it’s a small space that books quickly.

Definitely a must try in the Morristown area!

Best sushi in NJ. Special rolls are incredible! Homemade soy sauce is delicious. Service 1000000 out of 10. This will always be my fave spot. Yellow tail with jalapeño, kamikaze roll and special teas are a MUST.

There’s a lot of sushi options around Morris county, but this one’s the best hands down. The fish the super fresh, the rolls delicious, and the soy sauce (made in house!) is amazing. We’ve been there a fair number of times, both for take out and eat in. Once we did take out and they forgot a part of the order, so somebody there drove it out to our house. Great service!!

This is me and my wife’s new favorite place. The owner ivon is so friendly and makes sure you have a nice experience.

I’m not a big sushi eater and this is the ONLY place I really love because their sushi is so fresh and the people that work there are so nice.

They are so accommodating and even made me my own rolls with fried chicken that was AMAZING since I don’t eat fish.

My wife loves their iced teas. Their iced teas are like nothing like you have had anywhere else. You won’t be disappointed if you try it.

The salmon sushi is so fresh and melts in your mouth.

I don’t usually write reviews but this place is by far the best sushi place around. It’s a hidden gem and we will continue going back each week.

We travel regularly. We have eaten here 3 times in 5 days. (You read that right) We stumbled upon this place via google and it has been fantastic. It is BYOB but there are 2 stores within a 3 minute walk where you can buy sake, beer, wine and liquor. In 15 years of traveling, eating sushi and trying different spots, this is the best, freshest sushi we have ever had on the road. To top it off, Yvonne(front of the house) and her husband(chef) were some of the most gracious, hospitable, and friendly people you might ever meet while dining out. Needless to say, highly recommend. Yvonne, we will see you next time we are in town! ***(FYI, THEY HAVE POSTED A SIGN THEY WILL BE CLOSED AUG 29-SEP 5,2022 FOR VACATION) Also, Yvonne informed me that they are not affiliated with the Asahi 15 minutes north of here.

We’ve been coming here for special occasions for years. High prices but very high quality sushi and very worth it; we say it’s the best around for sure, whether you order special rolls, regular rolls, appetizers, and/or dessert, it’s all so good. Staff/owners are also so friendly and talented. Can’t recommend this place enough! Definitely make a reservation or try to go at non-peak time. Enjoy!

Asahi sushi is amazing! We did a curbside pickup and the entire end-to-end experience was a positive one. Ordering over the phone, picking up the food, and the food itself was all perfect. In fact, it’s rare to find such a fresh and great tasting sushi place - I’ll be a repeat customer for sure. 100/100 highly recommend

I am not really a sushi person, but this sushi was delicious. Beautiful presentation, super friendly service, and I also enjoyed the Udon soup.
We had the orange tea and matcha. They give you big cups and so tasty, but not cheap. The orange was sweet, so more of a treat, and a real taste sensation. And I had forgotten how good matcha could be - this one was well made.

This was my first time here and it was absolutely pleasant! The service was so fast. I was browsing my food and they brought out whichever rolls came out first. So they had a constant flow of food coming through, which was stellar. And their soy sauce is made in house! AND IT WAS SO GOOD. Very much has that umami that most soy sauces are missing. And of course, the rolls were savory. A bit on the expensive end, but honestly? Very worth it. I'd def go here again, just for the sauce alone.

Small hidden gem (byob) in Morristown right between NOM and Raul’s empanadas. The spot has been there for 20+ years. The owners are super nice and welcoming. The owner is super sweet and hospitable. She provides you with amazing recommendations. My friend and I got the yellow tail app, gyoza, Bruno roll, spicy tuna roll, and two rolls on special. The homemade tea is also a crowd pleaser. Lastly, don’t forget dessert (fried tempura banana) with choice of ice cream. Def call ahead to see if they have room. It’s with the wait!

Chirashi portions was huge and worth the cost. Very fresh. Their “homemade” soy sauce was a nice touch. It’s officially in my top 3 sushi restaurants in the area and would gladly drive the 30 minutes to eat here again. Just make sure to make reservations as it’s a small place and fills up quick.

There’s no place like this. Everything is so perfectly put together. This is one of those local hidden gems where you dare bring only those you REALLY care about. Like.. I only bring my closest friends here. I cherish this place and all the memories associated with it. I love this place and I hope it stays here, for decades to come.

Terrific sushi! Great, tasty, fresh fish paired with properly seasoned rice. The pieces were well sized, not small and not enormous. The cooked food was also very good, we enjoyed the edamame, vegetable dumplings, and a seaweed salad. The staff inside was friendly and extremely polite. While I did takeout, the restaurant looked immaculately clean, and everyone inside was wearing masks and gloves, with sanitizer available. I was very happy with this meal and will definitely be ordering from here again, and cant wait to visit in person when this pandemic is over.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant. The fish is super fresh and the quality is outstanding. The majority or the menu is homemade and you can seriously tell the difference. They even make their own soy sauce! This cute, little restaurant is run my the sweetest lady and all the other staff are wonderful. Definitely go to Asahi sushi, you will not be disappointed!
