The Hibernia Inn

Dined her many times years ago when I worked nearby, it’s been over 20 yrs. It was excellent then, and still is now! Some of the best Italian food you can have. Everything we had was excellent… fresh & full of flavor. It’s a bit out of the way for some, but so worth the trip. I live in Florida and have had many grouper meals, the potato crusted grouper here is 🔥! The best I ever had. My wife had a chicken dish with pasta that was the bomb. My buddy had the pork chop that was tender and tasty. If you’re looking for a quite atmosphere with great cocktails and fantastic food, you need to make plans to drive to Hibernia Inn ( approximately 3 miles off the Hibernia/Rockaway exit off of Rt 80). This is family owned for many years and they keep bringing a excellent dinning experience. Wish they were in my home town in Florida 😎

Delicious Italian food! We loved everything we got and had plenty of pasta leftovers for lunch the next day. Would recommend the penne vodka!

As always bad with names but our server was wonderful! Haven’t been there in few years but it was though I never left! Myself and my 2 boys went for dinner and it was delicious our server did an excellent job and the food was amazing as always! Thank you for a wonderful experience

First time here .... had the soft shell crabs and scalloped potatoes. It was out of this world! Tina was a fabulous server! We can't wait to go back!

We went for New Years Eve dinner Nice cozy atmosphere and food was delicious. I would highly recommend.

If you want too notch service and great Italian food than the Hibernia inn is a must!

The food is amazing and consistent. If you go must try the potato crusted grouper. It is incredible. 👍

In my culinary travels, I have found that there are very few great Italian restaurants. However, the Hibernia Inn is the exception. We have lived in Morris country for over 35 years and just discovered this hidden gem. Upon arrival, our hostess Rosemary greeted us with a warm welcome and seated us promptly. My husband ordered the Shrimp & Scallops Toscana and I, the Donnici. When I requested that chicken be substituted for veal, the kitchen happily made the accommodation. We also had a complementary sample of the soft-shell crab. The service was friendly and attentive, but it was the food that earned the 5 star award. Both dishes were incredible to say the least! The portions were more than ample and enabled us to feast a second time. The chicken, shrimp and scallops were all very tender and served in a Marsala cream sauce that was to die for! My entrée was accompanied by the best Scalloped potatoes I’ve ever eaten. In sum, we had an amazing dinner and will be looking forward to more in the future

Hello! I brought my parents here on Wednesday. It was their first time coming out since COVID hit, so I really wanted to give them a good meal. Aside from the food being absolutely incredible, (literally would cater my wedding from this place,) our server Melissa was the kindest, happiest and most helpful person! She did so great and we hope to get her again. Anyways, the food is epic and I will be back. (my boyfriend's family has been going there for 30 years so that is how I found out about it!)

I ordered takeout from here tonight and it was ah-mazing! We had steak and stuffed shrimp which were delicious, but that potato gratin... I could have eaten a whole plate of just that. Salads were delish as was the crusty bread. They even threw in two pieces of what looks like fudge as a treat. So thoughtful! Service was equally wonderful from our order being taken, to being carefully packed and delivered to my car. Thank you Hibernia Inn!!

Great diner, recently renovated. Food is good and isn't priced bad either.

Edit: just realized I left this review at the Hibernia inn not Hibernia diner but the score still stands at 5 stars. Hibernia inn is very nice and has been around a long time.

STILL OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT
We just went to Luzzi's Hibernia Inn for their Prime Rib night. They do it 4-5 times per year. All I can say is AMAZING!! The Prime Rib was to die for, the service was superb,,and the portion was so big, I had enough for lunch the next day. Danny Luzzi is usually there making sure everything is perfect and as usual it was. We will be back for the next one... This is probably our favorite restaurant. We have been going there for years and I always get the Shrimp Parmesan. An amazing dish. You have to try the Mozzarella , Roasted peppers and caramelized onions. Its an appetizer that is through the roof. The house salad is served ice cold and the plates are frozen... I've never seen that in any other restaurant.

Even if you are not close to Hibernia (North of Rockaway NJ) NJ, it is worth the trip!!!

One of our fav places! Love the Grouper and salmon. You can get dishes made several ways to your liking! Love the complimentary chocolate for dessert! So yum!

Fabulous as always! Consistently outstanding food, beverages and staff.

I went for valentines with friends. There was a little wait but its to be expected on a holiday. We didntind we spent the time socializing over cocktails at the bar. My husband got the steak which was cooked to perfection and served in an amazing sauce that he would have ordered a whole gallon of, if he could. I got the blackened salmon which to die for. I wasnt a fan of the rissoto, would probably order asparagus instead next time. But overall, the food was delicious, drinks were made well and we had a fantastic time. We highly recommend Michelle, she is very knowledgeable about the menu and can offer great reccomendations if your indecisive like me.

One of our favorite restaurants. We go for special occasions. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is very nice. It can get loud at times if It's crowded.
