Pizza Rustica

This is by far the best pizza I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. We were introduced to Pizza Rustica while visiting friends in the area, they had ordered the grandma and drunken grandma pies along with some garlic bread. With the first bite we were instantly in love. The grandma is by far my favorite, the flavors are amazing, the crust has a great crunch while maintaining good chew, the sauce tastes fresh as if the tomatoes were just picked at their peak of ripeness, the cheese is well cheesy (in a good way), and the pesto generously drizzled on top is the icing on the...pie 😄. The drunken grandma is equally delicious. Garlic bread is no joke, smothered in garlic and bursting with flavor.
We live about an hour south of Pizza Rustica and have taken the drive no less than 6 times (it would have been weekly if my SO had her way) in the past two months to relish in their culinary greatness. No pizza in our area even compares and that's saying a lot living in Central Jersey.
The staff is friendly and attentive and the atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and welcoming.
I honestly can't say enough about this establishment! Bravo!

Just had the BEST food & service at Pizza Rustica in Rockaway Boro. Soup, salad & entrees all fresh, well prepared, generous portions, beautiful prepared by chef Carlos. Don’t let the casual pizzeria atmosphere fool you. Delicious and very reasonably priced. Italian egg drop soup; served steaming hot, and seasoned perfectly. Side salads included with our meals; super fresh. Excellent service from our waiter, Patrick who brought a huge complementary serving of warm, crispy garlic bread to the table and paid careful attention throughout the meal to ensured our food was prepared to order. We had a very picky friend at the table who was extremely happy but everyone was pleased with their choices.I had Eggplant Rustica: breaded eggplant, served in delicious vodka sauce and topped with homemade mozzarella. They happily changed out my side of pasta for a side of sautéed broccoli for a minimal charge. Carlos who delivered the heaping dish of garlicky veggies to the table himself was warm and humble as we praised his food. ❤ We will definitely be going back!

2020-New owners were really friendly and were more than willing to listen to feedback. Ordered a plain slice to provide a rating for the Pizza Hunters App and surprise, surprise they delivered a very good slice of pizza. I was informed that they have been working on their crust which was very good. The cheese was very creamy and full of flavor. They are very passionate about getting better and that is the key to success. Looking forward to going back to taste continued improvement.

2022 Visit - I have to give this place another star from 4 to 5 stats. Pizzailo Carlos and his team have done a great job with their Pizzas. The Rustic slice was amazing and then switching over to the Grandpa Slice, I was able to get a different experience with a different sauce. They are very passionate about their Pizza. Great job.

I have major problems with pizza. I could eat it for every meal. Like for real. This place has the BEST Grandmas pie around. In addition their staff is excellent. I’m glad I have some Will power or I would eat it every single day and end up to be well over 400 lbs.

My absolute favorite pizza!!!! What makes it even better is the service, the professionalism, the cleanliness and their consistency!!!! Always a must when I get my nails done next door! It’s worth the 30 min drive every two weeks!

These guys make great food! No joke. The crust is amazing, and the crew is awesome. Delivery never takes long. I highly recommend Pizza Rustica in Rockaway.

Update 12/14/23:

I absolutely love this place. I came in for something that's not on the menu. Sort of a go to when the slice I love is not available. The guy who told me about it wasn't there but they called him and he came in earlier.

Tell me that isn't superb customer service. If you've never been here, please make sure you do and try the Tequila Shrimp Pizza.

Love their crust...Workers are friendly and sociable. Seems like a great place to work so you know it's awesome to dine there.

I can tell they have a strong tie to the community by the repeat customers and rapport.

Anytime I'm in a pizza mood...def a special trip will need to be made bec again I just love their crust.

Stopped in for a couple slices while at work. Ordered a slice of roasted red pepper w garlic, balsamic glaze and olive oil... Maybe chicken too... Not sure don't judge me... The crust was excellent 👌 crispy flavorful and with great texture... That slice might be one of the best specialty slices I've ever eaten in my 42 years of eating north Jersey pizza. The plain slice had the same crust and was a generous portion. Top notch work done by these guys!

Rustica Special Pie is awesome! This pie is loaded with such fresh and delicious toppings, yet when you pick up the slice, it holds strong without anything falling off! The staff is friendly and helpful from the phone call through the pickup process. I also found the prices reasonable for the amount of toppings provided and overall food quality. Great local pizza joint for sure!

I've been here 3 times and each time I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look like much from outside, but the pizza dough has some extra seasonings that give it a really nice flavor. Even the best pizza places anywhere else in Morris County has crust from time to time that tastes like old crackers, but I've never had that issue here. Really large portions on the cheesesteak and salad as well.

Food continues to be excellent with new owners. Service great when dining in.

We had a veal and a chicken dish. Both were outstanding. The seating area is very nice, casual and welcoming. Jake was our server who was attentive and courteous. When we were leaving every staff member thanked us for coming. We will be back to try the pizza next!

Our cub scout pack had a luncheon catered by Pizza Rustica. The food was great and the owner, staff and delivery person went above and beyond to accommodate us. Very friendly too. Thank you!!

always great, never had a bad thing. Came in late afternon (4:45) yesterday, ordered 10 pies of different varieties, wings and Caesar salad, needed to pick up by 7pm and it was ready 10 minutes early. Thanks Pizza Rustica, everyone loved it!

Changed review at the bottom of this review!!! Normally I would be pleased with them. They have these things called pepperoni chips which is like a small stromboli cut into pieces. Got a few orders the other day and they were amazing and priced good. Well I just went in there and there was some left so I said I would take them. He put them in the oven and his wife came to ring me up. She asked what I ordered and I told her but said i wasn't sure how many were there being that it was the last of them, I did tell her I noticed some pieces were so small they couldn't be considered a regular sized "chip"( which by the way was just a piece of bread nothing inside it) she looked In the over and charged me for one order. Next her husband comes out and says she charged u for one and u have two orders 12 exactly. I stated she charged me that after she looked In the over and noticed how small some of them were . So I had to pay for 2 orders when 3 pieces alone equal up to one regular "chip". I'm quite upset and I feel i was totally overcharged . I get them and go to eat them and most are rock hard so not only was I over charged I couldn't barely eat them anyway . I WON'T BE GOING THERE ANYMORE!!!!

4/24/19 co-workers went in there today and the owner sent an order of the pepperoni chips for me free of charge. I greatly appreciate the gesture . These pepperoni chips were delicious !! Nice and hot and fresh !!! If I could remover my original review I would but I'm not sure how to so I figured I would add a new review!

Ordered for takeout...we ordered three entrees, each was tasty, nicely seasoned, as described in menu and hot. (Marsala sauce was just a bit too thick on one though) Enjoyed the salads/balsamic dressing on side, and thank you for keeping them separate from our entrees before pickup. The personal pizza ordered was a good size and my grandson liked it...he can be pretty picky. We also ordered a meatball parm sandwich and it also was very good. Thank you for being open. Keep well 😊
