Thai O'Brien's Bar & Restaurant

I came here on good recommendation from a frequent customer and we decided to celebrate my partners birthday here and WOW 🤩 ! This place is great ! We were greeted and sat by the owner who was super nice and a great Maitré De. We started with a pot of warm saké which was excellent, both in presentation and quality (of taste) and ordered our appetizers. We got a spread of items to try and everything was delicious! Knock out flavors that were pronounced, there, and without over powering. It was really refreshing since it’s been awhile since any of us had Thai food. So you know when a chef gets it right; it really takes it home! The soup is to die for! It’s absolutely stellar! I can see why our recommender has it at least once a week. Our entrees came and we were yet again impressed. The presentation, portions, and taste of everything was divine 🤩 🍽 it’s a surprise of a location with street parking ; surrounded by residential. And you may not expect such tasty food to come out of such a place… but it is and it’s there! You should treat yourself here time and time again! It’s clean from the dining room, the bathrooms to the bar, it was emasculate! I’m really impressed.

After dinner we went into the bar area which was also stunning! The lighting, the color lit cloud in the ceiling, the spaciousness of the room! Everything is great! They have a dart machine and Karaoke too! It’s nice to see a karaoke bar outside of NYC 🎤 ! Our bartender was super cool and friendly as well! Made our drinks perfectly, and had some good suggestions for us to try. They had an organic gin I’ve never seen and tasted which was so smooth with a light eruption of botanicals as you swallowed that was so pleasant ; like experiencing botanicals bloom internally , in yet again, a profound notable way without being too much. It was fantastic. As well as the hard seltzer on tap and most importantly, The Service! Truly wonderful people that are masters of food & beverage service. They went out of their way to bring a candle so we could sing happy birthday that was a firecracker and super cool 💥 😎 that was such a pleasant surprise for us and really made our night special (thank you again). This Thai Restaurant & Bar is amazing and you should definitely visit. I can’t wait to go back! I’m not sure if it was the day we went or if somethings changed but these other reviews are inaccurate because this is not what we experienced at all! 5/5 🌟’s ; come check them out and enjoy all things delicious! And try their Roti 🫓 !!! That was a pleasant and tasty surprise on the menu!

My partner (Kevin) and I stopped by for a late lunch today. Had the pleasure of meeting David. We've passed this place plenty of times and finally decided to stop in. The name intrigued us. We ordered a few appetizrers and entrees. Everything was delicious! We will stop passing by and start stoping in. You should do the same, you won't be disappointed ! We'll be back to try more.

I was walking past this spot and noticed they sell Thai food. I went inside and ordered the pad see ew noodles with just vegetables. It was amazing one of the best pad see ew noodles I ever had. This place is a hidden gem! The owner was friendly as well. If I’m in the area I would definitely get this ever time!

I absolutely LOVE this place! They’re consistently good and because they’re in my neighborhood I can just walk over & pick up dinner easily. The bar is a lot of fun too & also walkable to and from so I never need to drive home!!

Ordered the Chicken Pad See Ew and wonton soup. First time ordering delivery from here and it was a good experience. I ordered through Grubhub, but was soon given a call that their driver no longer delivers to Jersey City and to use DoorDash instead. So just a head's up to JC customers! Thought I would need to get a refund and reorder, but the staff member guaranteed they would deliver through GH this one time. And they even delivered early! Thanks for the yummy food and the good experience!

I never write reviews but felt I should this time. I have driven past this restaurant for years but never stopped in. I happened to be in the neighborhood and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Food was fresh and tasted excellent! David as well as everyone was extremely nice. Will definitely return.

The scallion pancake and the Thai fried rice was amazing 👏

The service here is wonderful. Staff is very friendly. The food is delicious. The restaurant is very cozy. I like the calamari and fried flat noodles. They also serve cocktails. They also have karaoke on saturday nights at the bar upstairs.

The bar upstairs is amazing! We didn't eat here, so I can't speak to the food, but Stacy was our bartender, and I've very rarely felt so at home and so appreciated in a bar as I did here. I live in New Orleans and I've bartender all over town, and as a person who's done this myself, I can tell you that I strive to be the welcoming and wonderful bartender that Stacy is. This place made me feel at home, all the way across the country. Stacy brought our drinks, made us popcorn, and asked us what music we wanted to hear. Felt really good to be so at home! NYC is great for over priced drinks and stuck up people who don't care what your name is, but Thai O'Brien's is where your should go if you're a good person who likes to be around other good people.

Best Thai food in Bayonne. You get a ton of noods for the price and they will make your orders as spicy as you like. Their best offering is their homemade hot sauce. It’s heaven. There isn’t a bad item on the menu.

My recommendation is the Pad Thai with Tofu. It’s really outstanding.

Great place for Thai food! Family owned small, cozy and quaint. Parking can be hard to come by but the food is phenomenal as well prices and service. That you just can't beat for a simple but elegant date night out. Oh and you have to try the Thai iced tea!

Definitely the place to be always keeping things changing up the drink specials. Having different special nights. Really fun spot.

I would rate the restaurant overall as 4 stars but the food is definitely 5 stars! It’s really delicious and they have vegetarian options. The food tastes really fresh and authentic and they make it freshly for the customer. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Love this place for Thai food, owners are so nice, we are regulars here, food is amazing! Bayonne doesn’t get too much footfall so place is not crowded on most days which means staff has their full attention to you! Good portions for very decent prices!

You will always have a good time at Thai's. Staffed by a fun and fun loving staff paired with great music always playing make this bar one of the best in the state. It's everything you want out of a small bar with all the charm that screenwriters could only dream of.

Food was delicious, and unlike any other Thai food I have had. I ordered Chicken Massaman, which is typically a thin coconut broth, peanuts, veggies and chicken. This was more of a stir-fry rendition of the dish without the broth. Not what I expected, but delicious none the less.

This place is an almost hidden gem. Stumbled upon them while biking. Strong tiki drinks+ really tasty Thai food+karaoke bar, happy hour and family operated! LOVE!
...6 month update: still LOVE this place for both dining in (romantic dim lit lovely little space with wonderful service and playing and great drinks) but also delivery. From Spring, Summer and now Autumn. This place keeps rocking! THANK YOU Thai O’Briens

Food is always delicious. Moderately priced and not on the inexpensive side either. A cozy calm place to have ur food in peace. A bar upstairs for happy hours. Nice place to be overall !!

Excellent Food! Great Service! Was pleasantly surprised at just how good this place was and how I managed to pass it so often without going in! Their prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommended!
