Jim and his staff managed all of the details related to an unexpected out-of-state death, and seamlessly coordinated the intricate logistics between funeral homes, hospital, church and cemetery. Their professionalism and genuine compassion provided comfort to our family and allowed us to focus our attention on honoring our loved one.

Jim and the team at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds made the most difficult experience that much easier by being so helpful. Guided us through everything, did not push a thing, laid out the options only and helped us take care of our dad and put together a lovely service at their beautiful facility to celebrate his life. We gathered so many pictures and stuff that would flood the memories of those attending with no idea how to put it together. Jim's team just took it all off our hands and we arrived for the service thinking we would need to arrange everything only to be delighted by how beautifully and perfect they arranged it all. Didn't change a thing. Felt like having a big strong friend helping us through a very tough time and couldn't recommend them more.

Our family was so impressed with everything FWEFH did to support us through a very challenging time. Jim Friedel was extremely helpful, professional, patient and compassionate with both my mother and I during the planning of my stepfather’s funeral especially amidst all that has taken place this past year. Jim is a great person and the beautiful services for my stepfather’s services would not have been the same without Jim’s care for detail, effort and honor of my nearly 92 year old stepfather of 42 years who meant so much to me. I truly can't say enough about the professionalism and caring that I received from this establishment. Unfortunately, I have needed them twice: once for my husband and once for my dad. They were by my side from start to finish and made every decision go as smoothly as possible. I had constant communication with them through both phone and emails. I didn't have a need or want that wasn't fulfilled. I am forever grateful for their assistance in making the hardest moments of my life feel like I had family by my side.

If I could give this funeral home and director Jim Friedel 10 stars, I would. My Aunt recently passed away and I was in charge of her arrangements. She had expressed her desire to have Friedel, Williams & Edmunds handle the proceedings as they had done so previously for her husband. All arrangements had to be handled remotely as the funeral was in New York and I was in Florida. I can't begin to say enough about the precision that Jim Friedel handled every minor detail, all with sensitivity and compassion. His expertise and guidance from beginning to end was above and beyond my expectations. If I had to pick one thing that impressed me the most about working with this funeral home, it would be the COMMUNICATION! Phone calls are answered immediately by a "live" person. Emails or texts are answered immediately and all questions and concerns addressed and resolved. During your most difficult time, I would not hesitate for a minute in highly recommending Friedel & Williams to handle arrangements for your loved one.

Losing your mother is a heart-breaking event, but the compassionate services offered by Jim Friedel made her passing much easier for our family. The funeral services were tailored to Mom’s most important religious wishes, while allowing for safety concerns during the pandemic ... all of this compounded by the fact that we were saying farewell to her during Holy Week.

The communication between the funeral home and the family could not have been better. Every aspect of the funeral and entombment was professional, compassionate, and reflective of the needs of the grieving family. Last, but not least, the family appreciated the follow up calls from Jim Friedel asking if there was anything else at the funeral home could do. Due to a recent & unexpected passing of our Mother, & shortage of places to store her body in Schenectady due to this pandemic where our Mom passed away at, we were emotionally distraught & didn't know where or who to turn to because every Funeral home we tried contacting in the Utica area was completely booked & we needed to figure out who was going to help us out, in this time of need. My family contacted Don Edmunds, whom helped us out instantly. He arranged for a place to store her body immediately and had an opening to have her funeral. He was very Professional, Compassionate, & understanding with the whole funeral, especially being that we had a "Buddhism Funeral". Don answered all of our questions in a timely matter & worked with us around the clock.
The whole staff was friendly & great to work with. The actual day of her funeral, i dealt with "Jim" & he also was accommodating to our family needs & very professional. My family and i would like to Thank the whole staff for being very patient, understanding, & professional throughout the whole funeral.

We had my mother's memorial service at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds , and the staff there, particularly Jim Friedel, was OUTSTANDING. This was the second time we have used their services in the last few years, and both times they were extremely professional, courteous, compassionate, and helpful in all the preparations for the calling hours. There were no high-pressure sales tactics, and they helped us with all the preparations (obituary, cremation, death certificates, room setup, slide show, pictures, etc.) and made what could have been a difficult task ... very easy. I arrived after my mom had passed, so they set up a viewing for me with no trouble, and in every phase of the preps they acted like we were their first priority. I could not imagine how it could have gone more smoothly. Their communication is top notch, and their prices very reasonable. I could not ask for a better experience, especially during such a stressful time. Would give them 6 or 7 stars if I could.

I have no words to express my gratitude for the tender care given to my late Aunt and our family during a very dificult time. When making arrangements they took the utmost care to make sure both my aunt's and our wishes were carried out to the letter. Jim and Don were there to answer any and all questions. I've never had to put together a funeral and Jim made it as easy and seamless as possible.

My aunt passed away just after Christmas 2020. Friedel, Willams & Edmunds took care of all the arrangements. They step us through the entire process quickly and professionally.
