Recently had my cat in for emergency surgery after he ate something that got lodged in his intestines. Everyone at WVRC was wonderful and took amazing care of him. It wasn’t without risks and I felt he was in very good hands the entire time. Highly recommend.

Incredible experience with this hospital given a not-so-incredible situation. I brought my husband’s family’s dog, Cyrus, in to get end of life care and the staff was so wonderful to my sister-in-law, me, and most importantly, Cyrus. He got a wonderful last meal full of peanut butter, marshmallow spread, chocolate, and chicken. The nurse walked us through the entire process, being as delicate and understanding as possible, and made a sad process run smooth comfortable for Cyrus. We were the last person he saw when he went to sleep, and he was peaceful when he left. Can’t thank the staff enough!

Wvrc has helped my cat for the past 10 days after he was poisoned by vitamin d. He knocked the bag of vitamins down and I had no idea they were toxic so I left him be but when he stopped eating I quickly called there and they said I needed to bring him in immediately and contact poison control. All of the vets, front desk staff, and all of the vet techs were rooting for my boy for the past 10 days. I got calls and pictures anytime I ask for them almost immediately. It was actual genuine caring too, not that fake stuff that some vets give you. They truly cared about my boy and wanted him to pull through. Dr Lane and Dr Fisher were fighting so hard for my boy. Today, when I had him put down after we had exhausted all possible ways to remediate the issue, I looked up while they were euthanizing and Dr Lane was just bawling because she loved my boy so much like her own animal. This place is a wonderful place and I owe them so much for trying to save my boy. Thank you guys so much for caring deeply.

We came to WVRC the day after our primary vet was suspicious of cancer. Our cat, Puff, has a large mass in his spleen. The staff worked fast and efficiently to find a diagnosis for him, even though his case was a head-scratcher. They kept in contact with us every step of the way. Through the ultrasound and the risky biopsy, they were able to diagnose our baby with Lymphoma. All of this was achieved in less than a week. They were willing to answer all our questions to the best of their ability and truly seems like they care about animals. Highly recommend for pet emergencies.

We recently had to visit because our senior dog was experiencing complications from Cushings disease and diabetes. Sadly, we had to make a choice to humanely euthanize him. In what was an emotionally turbulent situation, the staff was exceptional and treated us and our dog with great care and consideration. Thank you to Dr Mallo and the team for your patience, guidance, and understanding. They helped us considerably as we begin to heal from the loss of our beloved pup.

This was my third time going here and once again my pet and I were treated with respect. I had to have my dog euthanized but the vet went through all the options if I didn't choose that route. I didn't feel rushed; I felt like the only thing that mattered was my pet's comfort and my feelings. Every employee made me feel like they understood my pain and heartache. I am grateful for their kindness in our hardest night.

I can’t say enough about the staff and doctors at WVRC they were amazing when my 8 month old dog came in with an obstruction in his small intestines. Everyone was so wonderful from desk staff to doctor who performed the surgery Kerri Wiedmeyer! Thank you all who helped us that day it was incredibly stressful but you made everything so easy and he is recovering great.

We rushed our 3 year old lab Bruce here on Friday early morning and he stayed until Monday afternoon. Every single person, from the front desk staff to the techs/ nurses, and doctors were kind, caring, compassionate and informative.

Bruce was diagnosed with addisons disease and was in an addisonion crisis when we brought him in. From everything I’ve read, this is rare and can be difficult to diagnose. Bruce was diagnosed properly within 6 hours of being brought in. I credit the staff here for their quick diagnosis and treatment, without which I don’t know if Bruce would have survived.

While we hope to not find ourselves in an emergency situation again, WVRC will be our go to if it ever comes up again.

Thank you to each and every person here who cared for Bruce, gave him love and got him home to us.

The staff here were amazing. Our 1 year old miniature dachshund was having a severe reaction to one of her vaccines. Her face was severely swollen. My fiancé met me there as I took her in and she received immediate attention and they took such amazing care of her. We were so scared, but the staff was so nice and reassuring! Thanks to them my baby is doing much better!!

I showed up at 5pm with a dog attack. I wait and watch for hours. I watch tech coming in and out. Other people coming in with their dogs and cats. I watch the worst loved one crying because you know it was time. I kept think that’s going to be me. The one thing you have to understand is this is a hospital and you’re not the only one. I got there at 5pm but when it was 8pm there were people leaving with their loved one that have been there longer than me! I was informed how she was doing the vet was amazing! Yes the doctor was amazing I felt my pup was in good hands. It takes more than a good vet! The front desk lady’s and gentlemen that assisted me were amazing. They answered all my questions. When I wanted an update they got me one. I felt comfortable even when there was 15 more calls coming through of an emergency. I’m not done the techs were amazing. I at least saw 5 techs not all talking to me but helping everywhere. Explaining meds talking about discharge answering questions you guys did great!!! Thank you so much!! I’m located in dodge county and still will always come running you when I need the help!!!!

I will never thank WVRC enough for what they did for my little Roxi. I never gotten around to writing this review because I was dealing with a lot of grief for months. From the moment we first took her there for an emergency to the moment we said goodbye was given with compassion, understanding, judgement free and so forth. Dr. Mallow (apologies if spelt wrong) was our doctor for our 2 visits. The first visit I knew I could trust her with Rox. When it came down to the hardest decision, and I had to call, Dr. Mallow made sure that I knew it was cancer and gave me that closure I absolutely needed. Dr. Mallow was also the one to do the euthanasia and I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to do it. After it was done and over with, I was met with nothing but compassion and love. Even when I had to pick up her ashes. They sent me a card a week later and it really did help. We will always bring our cats here in an emergency now. Even months later, I still will be forever grateful for them.

Just had our 14 year old Chihuahua in last Wednesday for a Gallbladder removal. The odds were not good for a dog her size. She made it through and is doing fantastic . Her healing has been much faster than expected. We are ever so grateful. I’m sure a lot of this is due to chance, the strength of our little dog and the Lord above but I must commend WVRC for a successful surgery and the heartfelt communication they gave us throughout the entire process. We even received a refund for the total cost being less than the “minimum” cost estimate. Cost wasn’t the important thing for us but it is worth mentioning as it just exemplified the good faith and ethics of the facility. This was actually our second dog to have surgery here and we were overjoyed with the care they both received.

I’ve never experienced a level of service as high as with this hospital. I always have doubts when taking my pets to a vet because I never know what goes on behind the scenes. I worry they may yell at my cats or hurt them. Who knows what else. From the very first phone call I placed I knew I was in good hands. Every person I spoke with on the phone was kind and treated me with empathy, kindness and reassurance. They understand pets are family. They never once made me feel bad about calling a million times to check on my cat or ask questions, even after discharge. The doctors had consistent and great communication and explained everything well. The staff sent me pictures of my cat while she was there with cute notes “from” my cat. They let me FaceTime to see her in action. I got to visit one night since she had been there multiple nights, and the tech who assisted me was the sweetest! She was a night tech and would be in the cat ward till 2-3 am. She spoke to my cat so gentle and nice! She played bird noises on the sound machine in the cat ward to keep the cats calm. That in itself is so amazing! They think of things like that. They do everything possible to keep you reassured during a scary time. I don’t think my care is done with them as my cat isn’t back to 100%, so I’ll be going back I’m sure. But in the meantime.. 10 plus stars if I could. ~ Thank you from “Gee” And myself.

The ENTIRE staff is AMAZING! Truly angels among us!
They took such unbelievable care of our little Frenchie. We we’re updated throughout the entire emergency procedure, and several times a day while our boy recovered in their care. Words cannot express how happy we are!
We drove over 2 hours to get here (because no one in our area could take him) and would do it again.
Thank you SO MUCH WVRC!!!!

This is the first experience I've had with dog Eye doctors. I have a dog with a very bad eye infection and he's never even been ill. So, I saw my regular vet in St Francis and she did what she could without having detailed knowledge of the eyes. Following this, she suggested a specialist. I called several dog eye doctors and they were all booked, earliest appointment was a month - crazy, but I totally understand. Every emergency may not make sense for my dog's issues, as the likelihood is that he is going to need an eye specialist.

Anyway, after call after call I finally came across WVRC Waukesha, they were sympathetic, helpful and understanding. They suggested having their specialist speak to my vet so that they could see if there is anything else they can do; until my dog is able to be seen from their eye doctor. That called happened within hours and before I knew it, my vet made room for my dog to come in and have further tests which the Eye specialist suggested. I also had a call from the clinic to book in an appointment for my dog at their soonest appointment.

I was relieved and I cannot thank these guys enough. They understood that my situation was not just a routine eye issue, but more of an emergency. I was worried that if left, my dog could loose his eyesight. He is 14 and has been super healthy all his life, so I knew this was something that needed immediate attention. Thank you for taking the time out to help me today, to provide alternative suggestions and to start the process so that we can get to the root of the problem with my dog & begin treating it appropriately. I am so grateful for your time & your team. Thank you.

I simply cannot stress enough how unbelievably professional and compassionate the entire staff is at WVRC. From the first phone call until we left the clinic, everyone was absolutely wonderful. We unfortunately had to euthanize our dog due to a number of health conditions that were significantly impacting her quality of life. Because our normal vet was booked for the day and not taking emergencies, we called WVRC and they completely understood our situation. They were caring and compassionate every step of the way and even followed up with a card and very thoughtful gift. I simply cannot thank everyone there enough. Unfortunately I don't recall the doctor's name (it may have been Dr. Gieger), but she was the best! I miss my dog dearly, but I take comfort in the fact that her final moments were peaceful and painless thanks to WVRC.

This past Saturday we had to make the hard decision to put our senior dog to sleep. This was our first time visiting the WVRC-Waukesha. We were very impressed with the level of service we received here. Each staff member and veterinarian we were in contact with was kind and took the time to thoroughly answer our questions. We highly recommend the WVRC-Waukesha.
